Duchess Camilla looked every inch the future Queen Consort with an "outstanding" regal Commonwealth Day look that has even given fans a “little crush” on her.

The Duchess of Cornwall stunned in an all-purple look as she and Prince Charles attended the Commonwealth Day service on March 14th. Held at Westminster Abbey, the service last took place in 2020 and was the last official engagement before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “stepped back” as senior royals. Earlier this month it was announced that the Queen would miss the Commonwealth Day service as it could be too “taxing” in light of her recent recovery from Covid-19.

Instead, the Queen remained at Windsor Castle, where it’s been claimed she intends to stay permanently rather than return to Buckingham Palace in London. But Westminster Abbey was still a riot of royal color on the day as Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, Prince William and Duchess Kate all attended the service.

Kate Middleton’s blue outfit wowed and it seems the Duchess of Cornwall’s outfit was another scene-stealer for many delighted fans. For this important occasion which pays tribute to the 54 Commonwealth Nations, Duchess Camilla wore bold purple. Her beautiful feathered hat perfectly complemented her Fiona Clare coat dress and she accessorized with a stunning classic Chanel quilted handbag.

Not only was Duchess Camilla’s Commonwealth Day look vibrant and spring-like, but it was also incredibly regal. Traditionally purple has long been a color associated with royalty and was prized for its boldness. It was also very rare, requiring a certain type of snail in Ancient Times to produce the color for the dye, as revealed by History.com

Given the Queen has expressed her wish that Camilla will be Queen Consort when Prince Charles takes the throne, this purple outfit couldn’t be more perfect.

Plenty of other royals have also showcased this beautiful shade, from Kate Middleton’s purple suit worn in Northern Ireland last year, to Princess Anne’s purple hat and scarf worn to a Service of Thanksgiving to mark the centenary of The Royal British Legion.

And Duchess Camilla’s Commonwealth Day look certainly has fans’ seal of approval, with one revealing this “outstanding” color has even given them a “little crush on her” after Clarence House shared photos from the day.

“The Prince did brilliantly representing Her Majesty today and The Duchess looked outstanding in purple! Much more than with her outfit she enchanted me with her beautiful blue eyes and radiant smile though... 😍😍😍 🤫 Don't tell anyone but I seem to have a little crush on our darling future Queen... 🤭🥰” they declared.

Someone else agreed, writing,“👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Very well said Your Highness. The Duchess of Cornwall looking fabulous in purple today! 💜”.

“L💜VE it when she wears purple!!!!!!”, a third person shared.

Whilst a fellow fan commented simply, “Camilla looked absolutely stunning 💜😍”.

Having brought out her beautiful feathered hat several times for Commonwealth Day, Duchess Camilla’s purple outfit is one she could continue to recreate for future services.
