Cambridges’ privacy ‘breached’ by release of video showing Prince William ‘confrontation’
The Cambridges' privacy is important to Prince William and he reportedly challenged a photographer during a family bike ride last year...

The Cambridges’ privacy has reportedly been “breached” by the release of a video that is said to show Prince William confronting a photographer.
- A video that supposedly features the Duke of Cambridge confronting a photographer whilst on a bike ride with Duchess Kate and their children has been posted.
- In response, it’s claimed Kensington Palace have considered the video a breach of the family’s privacy and are seeking to have it taken down.
- This royal news comes as it was revealed the Queen still 'adores' Prince Harry despite family rift.
Prince William and Kate Middleton might be senior members of the extended Royal Family but the couple are understood to prefer a high degree of privacy when it comes to their family life. Now a video that is said to depict the Duke of Cambridge challenging a photographer has been gaining some serious attention. According to The Telegraph, Kensington Palace have reportedly responded to a video featuring the future King by arguing that it constitutes a breach of the Cambridge family’s privacy.
The video in question is said to have been viewed by tens of thousands of people online. It’s understood to show Prince William confronting a photographer in Norfolk whilst out on a private family bike ride with Kate and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The Duke is said to be the only one of the Cambridges that appears on camera as he supposedly tells the photographer he believes they were filming the family deliberately. The clip, which reports have alleged was recorded in January 2021, went viral in recent days and is understood to have been filmed near the family’s Anmer Hall home.
The photographer in question reportedly claimed that they happened to be using public roads in the area and denied any wrongdoing. While The Telegraph reports that Kensington Palace have requested that the recently-posted video of the interaction be removed from all platforms.
The posting of the video could perhaps spark further conversions regarding the privacy of the younger royals in particular. As the children of the future King, the Cambridge kids are perhaps the most instantly recognizable of the the Queen’s great-grandchildren.
And although the Duke and Duchess regularly delight fans with new birthday snaps of their children each year, the proud parents are understood to be determined to give Prince George, Charlotte and Louis a relatively “normal” upbringing away from the intensity of the royal spotlight.

Generally when the royals are together in private circumstances, photos and videos of them aren’t published by the media. Prince William’s reported displeasure at what he seemed to believe was an attempt to get content of him, Kate and their children in private is therefore perhaps entirely understandable.
As revealed by Express.co.uk, royal commentator Katie Nicholl discussed William's desire for privacy in the ITV documentary Kate: The Making of a Modern Queen.
"Prince William guards the privacy of his family more highly than anything else in his life”, she said before reflecting on the intense scrutiny that surrounded Princess Diana throughout her life and surrounding the breakdown of her and Prince Charles’ marriage.
"Everything played out in the media, poured over in the press and he hated it,” she said. "You can completely understand why all he wants is a quiet family life, out of the limelight."
