Meghan Markle's former Suits co-star has shared his experience of working with the retired actress—and it's got us worried that she'll never return to the screen at all.

A former Suits star has opened up about his experience working with the Duchess of Sussex—and maybe even hinted that she may never return to the acting world.

Patrick J Adams played Mike Ross, the love interest of Meghan Markle's character, Rachel Zane, on the popular legal drama for seven full seasons. Both stars departed the series in 2017, after reaching a happily-ever-after end in their on-screen relationship.

The Canadian actor has now revealed that he would "kill to work with Meghan again", telling Extra that "she’s a huge talent and more than anything she’s the most motivated, driven human being I’ve ever met in my life."

The Duchess' engagement to Prince Harry in 2017 has largely been cited as the explanation as to why Meghan left Suits, while Patrick has previously admitted that he quit because he didn't see his character's storylines evolving. Aside from a guest star appearance in Season 9, the SAGA-nominated actor has pursued other projects in both television and film since his departure.

Meghan, of course, embarked on a very different path after marrying into the British monarchy in 2018. The Californian native was a full-time working royal alongside her husband, the Duke of Sussex, until the couple's high-profile withdrawal from the Royal Family in January 2020. They have since emigrated to the US, where they are pursuing their own entrepreneurial and philanthropic endeavors.

It doesn't look likely, however, that the ex-Hollywood star will return to showbiz any time soon.

Other than Meghan's hilarious cat impression on the Ellen DeGeneres show in November, the mother-of-two has given no signs that she's interested in coming out of retirement. She and Harry appear to be focused on establishing their businesses as of late, having already set up 11 companies—including entertainment and publishing firms—in the tax haven state of Delaware.

When the couple isn't signing lucrative deals, they're typically involved in some form of social activism. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle carry out most of their charitable work through their Archwell foundation, which they launched back in October 2020.

Patrick's follow-up comments on Meghan further solidified this speculation that the Duchess isn't interested in reviving her acting career. The 40-year-old was apparently always preoccupied with charitable work on the set of Suits, so much so that she even inspired her costars to also give back.

"Her wanting to give back and her charitable causes, that part of her that is so pure and runs right through her and always has," Patrick said.

"When we met, I was like, 'I’m an actor, we act, what else do we do?' And she was like, 'You might want to figure out how else you want to be helpful.'"

If Meghan does decide to return to acting, (one can dream!) she'll be bringing plenty of experience to the set. As well as her long-running gig on Suits, the royal icon boasts credits in numerous A-list movies—including Get Him to the Greek, Remember Me, and Horrible Bosses.
