The White Lotus season 2—everything we know so far about the hilarious show set in paradise

Among 2021’s most adored series was The White Lotus, a HBO satirical drama created, written and directed by Mike White. Following its critical acclaim, the anthology series was renewed for a second season that will focus on an entirely new cast of characters during their stay at a White Lotus property. 

If you haven't binged the first season of The White Lotus just yet (lucky you!), you're in for a treat.

As for The White Lotus season 2, here’s what we know so far...

THE WHITE LOTUS SEASON 2 CAST—WHO'S RETURNING?

The stellar cast featured in the premiere season of the show undoubtedly helped shape its success. From the always hilarious Jennifer Coolidge and Connie Britton, the cast was rounded out by Steve Zahn, Jake Lacy, Alexandra Daddario, Sydney Sweeney and others—each one playing a character that viewers loved to hate in equal measure. 

Season two will focus on new personalities and an entirely different plot (although all characters will still be spending time at a ritzy White Lotus property). That being said, it’s possible that season 1 actors will return—although starring as different folks instead of reprising their former roles.

In late 2021, Jennifer confirmed her return, although not mentioning in what capacity she'll be starring in the second season.

New stars set to appear on the show include Sopranos actor Michael Imperioli, who will play Dominic Di Grasso, a hotel guest visiting alongside his own father and son, and Aubrey Plaza of Parks and Recreation fame, who will play Harper Spiller, a wife on vacation with her husband and his friends.

WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT THE PLOT OF THE WHITE LOTUS SEASON 2?

Not much just yet. Back in August 2021, HBO did release a statement revealing that season 2 "leaves Hawaii behind and follows a different group of vacationers as they jet to another White Lotus property and settle in temporarily amongst its inhabitants."

We don't yet know where in the world that property will be but Mike did mention, also in 2021, that he was considering "going international." "We would go somewhere different because there's no way we could be able to afford the Four Seasons in Maui," he said to Entertainment Weekly. "So yeah, it would have to be The White Lotus: Kyoto or something."
