Move over, The Crown, it looks like there's a new must-watch TV series on the block. 

Ted Lasso raked in a litany of prizes at the Emmys 2021, with Jason Sudeikis landing the award for best lead actor comedy and Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein scooping up trophies for the best supporting actress and actor. 

The feel-good sports comedy, which debuted on Apple TV+ in August 2020, follows US football coach Ted (Sudeikis) as he navigates his new job in England as a coach for a struggling Premiership team. The catch? He hasn't the faintest clue about European football—or 'soccer' as he calls it. Here's everything you need to know—minus the spoilers—about this hilarious show.

Who’s in the cast of Ted Lasso? 

Ted Lasso boasts a star-studded cast of both US and British actors. Jason Sudeikis brings the sidesplitting giggles as protagonist Ted Lasso, an incompetent American football coach who’s been recruited by AFC Richmond club owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) to help/sabotage her team. Phil Dunster and Brett Goldstein star as football players Jamie Tartt and Roy Kent, respectively, while Jeremy Swift plays Leslie Higgins, the Director of Football Operations and Welton’s partner-in-crime. Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed, Juno Temple, and Sarah Niles are also regulars on the show.

Where is Ted Lasso filmed? 

With the show’s plotline revolving around the fictional football club AFC Richmond, it’s no surprise that most of its filming took place in the real-life Richmond. A number of the southwest London town’s landmarks, including Richmond Green park and the Prince’s Head pub (known as The Crown & Anchor pub on-screen), crop up throughout the series. The exterior of Ted’s apartment can also be found in Richmond at the address 11a Paved Court. 

How old is Rebecca in Ted Lasso?

Rebecca Welton, the owner of AFC Richmond, is played by 47-year-old English actor Hannah Waddingham. Viewers have speculated that her character’s age is also mid-to-late forties, but the exact number has never been revealed on the show.

There have been two seasons of Ted Lasso, with the third season expected to premiere next summer.
