‘Speechless’: Nadia Sawalha reveals unexpected – but exciting – family news

Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha has revealed that she and her family are currently working on a surprising new project together.

The 54-year-old took to her Instagram page, to reveal that she, her husband Mark Adderley and her kids, Maddie and Kiki, are creating a brand new ‘social media drama’ called The Vanishings.

Nadia shared a sneak peek at the series recently, with an emotional trailer. The short clip revealed that she will be starring in it, alongside Mark and her daughters, and that Maddie, 16, will also be providing the soundtrack to the film, singing some original songs.

In the clip, Nadia is seen in floods of tears, while a sweet family throwback clip plays in the background. Maddie can also be heard singing a haunting tune over the video.

TV presenter Nadia wrote in the caption, ‘We promised more … here is another tease of things to come … the music beautifully composed and performed by our @maddiemaddieee … and why do you think it’s called The Vanishings guys?

‘Any guesses?! #socialmediadrama #instadrama #filmmaking #thevanishings #proudmum #acting #fiction #familydrama please HIT LIKE button if you’d like to see more if the story ……🧨’.

The powerful clip appeared to blow many of Nadia’s 81,000 followers away, with plenty praising what had been shared so far.

One fan wrote, ‘Speechless! x’, while another commented on Maddie’s voice, saying, ‘Wow what an amazing voice!! This gave me goosebumps and brought a tear to my eye.’

And a third said, ‘Eeek this clip! Maddie your voice! Have goosebumps xx’

Other followers attempted to guess what the title of the drama meant, with one speculating, ‘As for the why it’s called The Vanishings – possibly the vanishing happy times.’

While another fan asked, ‘Is it about the loss of the old family life and how the happiness has vanished…?’

And one more follower said, ‘Wow this is so powerful. I guess it could mean a million different things but I’m guessing that it losing (not physically) someone to alcoholism and wanting them back to how they where?’

A while ago, Nadia also shared another teaser trailer, in which she looked to be playing an alcoholic mother arguing with her daughter. So could that be an accurate guess?

Nadia hasn’t yet revealed when her family’s drama series will be available to watch, but it seems we won’t have to wait too long now!

Of course, working on a drama isn’t too far from Nadia’s comfort zone.

She’s appeared in numerous TV shows, including EastEnders, Casualty, and The Bill, before her days on Loose Women.
