Ranvir Singh has given an insight into her Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals.
Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh opened up about her Strictly Come Dancing (opens in new tab) rehearsals as she appeared on the ITV news show alongside co-presenter Kate Garraway.
The journalist touched on her ballroom dancing rehearsals as her professional dancing partner from the BBC competition Giovanni Pernice made an appearance on Good Morning Britain to talk about this series.
During the season’s premiere on the weekend, Ranvir and Giovanni were seen performing in the first group dance of this year’s instalment of the show.
"We did one full day of training to learn this routine," Ranvir told her Good Morning Britain co-host Kate Garraway.
When you're sat at home you think 'Oh that's a nice little jolly dance' but oh my goodness, we were broken! I was broken after that first day. Totally broken."
Ranvir also added that Giovanni had been putting her through her paces during the rehearsals, joking, "Don't be fooled by his angelic face".
Speaking about the pair’s rehearsals, Ranvir admitted that she once stormed out on her partner, saying to him, "We've had our moments, haven't we Giovanni?"
"We had a 20 minute divorce, we needed 20 minutes apart and then it's been plain sailing ever since."
When co-host Kate asked Ranvir is she stormed off, the presenter replied, "Well, we had a quiet moment when we needed time to ourselves.
"I have to be honest, I had a total meltdown and Giovanni put me in my place. He pointed to his arm, which says 'never give up' and says 'that's just who I am'."
Giovanni replied, "You have never done anything like this before. To listen to someone repeat things for hours, telling you what to do, that is uncomfortable.
The ITV host also admitted that she is feeling nervous about the upcoming episode this Saturday as it is the first live show of the series.
"The first live show is quite a thing,” she said.
