Piers Morgan reached out to X Factor’s Simon Cowell after the star was rushed to hospital.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell was rushed to hospital over in Los Angeles after getting into an accident on his bike.
The music mogul, who is currently living over in LA’s Malibu area with partner Lauren Silverman and the couple’s son Eric, is said to have been testing his new electric bicycle when he had the accident.
Simon was reportedly practising on the new bike in the courtyard of his Malibu home when he fell off and injured his back.
A spokesperson for the star revealed that he was due to undergo surgery on his back yesterday (Saturday) evening and is currently under observation in hospital.
"Simon had a fall from his bike on Saturday afternoon whilst testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family,” a spokesperson for the American Idol judge told deadline.
"He hurt his back and was taken to the hospital. He's doing fine, he's under observation and is in the best possible hands."
Fans and friends have taken to social media to reach out to the star following his accident, with Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan writing on Twitter, ‘So sorry to hear this.
‘Sounds a very nasty accident. I wish Simon a successful operation and a full & speedy recovery’.
This isn’t the first time that the Pop Idol star has suffered a worrying accident, after he fell down the stairs back in 2017 when his blood pressure dropped.
Opening up on the lifestyle changes he made following the incident, Simon told ITV’s Lorraine, "In a weird way it was a wakeup call because it wasn't the end of the world, it was a bit embarrassing, but I will never hear a bad word about the NHS.
“I mean these people were unbelievable...I was probably overtired, but I feel better this year than I did this time last year, not so many meetings, not so many late-night calls, bit more of a balance."
Wishing Simon all the best in his recovery.
