Kate Garraway has shared another update on her husband Derek Draper’s coronavirus battle.

The Good Morning Britain host’s husband was admitted to hospital back in March after being diagnosed with Covid-19 and has spent weeks in intensive care.

As the nation stepped out to do the tenth and final clap for the NHS at 8pm last night, Kate was seen wiping away her tears as she stood beside her children Billy and Darcey.

Taking to social media, the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star penned a poignant message, sharing more details on how she and her family are coping with the awful situation.

Praising the country’s health workers for all they have done for those with the virus, she wrote, ‘I must admit I felt the tears come tonight to think it’s coming to an end while our fear for Derek goes on. But even if we don’t clap next Thursday it won’t diminish my eternal thanks to all in the #nhs .

‘They are keeping Derek alive & everyone of them is fighting as hard as Derek is to give us the chance to be reunited.

‘I am having to find new ways of staying strong everyday for Darcey & Billy, as I know Derek would want me to. It’s not easy but when I think of how hard Derek is fighting & the bravery of all in the #nhs it helps.’

On today’s episode of Good Morning Britain, Kate’s telly colleagues sent their love and support to her and other Brits facing similar hardships throughout the harrowing time.

“We are sending our love to Kate, Derek, Darcey and Billy,” Ben Shepherd said.

“To all of you out there who are still fighting and waiting and desperately hoping that your loved ones are going to be coming home."
