Earlier this month she made her presenting comeback with her multi-platform lifestyle series, Holly Willoughby Together, but the former This Morning star has now revealed the challenging impact quitting the ITV daytime show in October 2023 had on her life.

Speaking on Bottom’s Up! podcast with Alan Carr and Lee Peart, Holly admitted, “What I discovered was once I stopped working was that I am so lazy!”

She continued, “For somebody who worked a lot and was really busy and people were like ‘I don't know how you do it, how do you keep so many plates spinning?’ I was like, wow, I'm literally half woman-half mattress!”

Holly’s admission comes weeks after she revealed why it took her so long to make her comeback.

In an interview last month the presenter admitted there was a time when she “wasn't sure whether” she’d return to the spotlight following the highly-publicised kidnap, rape and murder plot against her.

“If I'm being really honest, everybody knows what happened to me and I just needed time out,” she candidly shared. The mum-of-three explained, “I needed to go, ‘Do you know, I need to park all of that. I'm just going to spend time with my family and my friends and see how I am and see what happens. And then when it feels right I'll go back.’ But there was a time when I wasn't sure whether that would ever be a thing.”

However, she added, “I feel good now, though. I wouldn’t be doing this if I wasn’t… I feel ready.”

Despite many being excited by the prospect of her return to the spotlight, so far Together, which launched on 28 July, hasn’t taken off as expected. At present her YouTube channel has amassed just 14.7k subscribers and her highest-viewed long-form video has only 36k views.

But Holly doesn’t appear to be phased by the possibility of her new career direction not reaching the same heights as her previous TV gigs.

“If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. But you have to have a go,” she said before adding, “What’s the other option? Just sitting scared and never doing a thing again?"

She also said that she feels “less pressure” due to the project being non-terrestrial, revealing, “I actually feel a little bit safer.”

The former Dancing On Ice presenter continued, “People find you and come to you because they’re interested in you," explaining that it means she isn't “forced” on people not interested in tuning in.
