Dame Helen Mirren has shared an emotional message to pay an important tribute.
The legendary British actress took to her Instagram account to pay tribute to nurses across the world in honour of International Nurses Day.
She used the sweet video to thank medical workers for all of the hard work that they’ve been doing during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Today is International Nurses Day,” she said in the video that she uploaded earlier in the week to mark the day.
“Now, I work for L’Oreal and maybe some of you may know they have the famous phrase, ‘Because you’re worth it’.
“Well, today of all days, we can say with our hands on our hearts, truthfully, and sincerely, to the nurses, you are worth it,” she sweetly said.
"Thank you so much for everything you’ve done and for everything you will be doing in the future."
The Calendar Girls actress, who has been an ambassador to renowned international beauty brand L’Oreal since 2014, then suggested that nurses use the brand’s iconic catchphrase to ask for a pay rise.
She added, “and in the future when you come to negotiate your pay rises you can say altogether, very loudly, ‘because we’re worth it’”.
