Ewan McGregor and his family have been hit by some devastating news, as it is reported that their family dog has been hit by a car.
According to The Sun, Ewan's production designer wife Eve Mavrakis announced the news on social media recently.
She allegedly posted on Instagram, to share the devastating development about their beloved family pet, Sid. Eve also revealed that the poor pup is still fighting for his life.
Eve reportedly wrote, "Poor little Sid was run over Thursday. He has been taken great care of @vcaanimalmedicalcenter but is still fighting for his life."
Eve and Ewan brought Sid home back in 2011, after the actor shot film Salmon Fishing In The Yemen, with a dog in it, reigniting his love of animals.
Speaking on the Ellen show back in 2012, Ewan said, "On the last day of the [film] shoot, I was looking up, I'd spoken to a lady in San Diego. I wanted a Bedland Terrier, they're like little sheep.
"But she sounded barking mad, so I thought her dogs would be mad too!
"So I googled Dog Rescue in Santa Monica, and they had little Sid. I found him on the website, and I just knew that he was my wee man, and he travels with me everywhere now. He's great."
Of course, this isn't the only difficult event in the McGregor household recently. For the past few days, Ewan and wife Eve have barely been out of the headlines, as the actor was spotted kissing his Fargo co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a restaurant, despite his 22-year-long marriage to wife Eve.
However, it's since been said that the couple split some months ago, in May. Mary also announced her split from husband Riley Stearns in the same month.
Eve has recently been spotted out and about without her wedding ring, too.
Scottish-born Ewan and French designer Eve share four children together, and were last known to be living in Los Angeles, California.
Neither Eve nor Ewan have yet commented on the rumours.
