Diana Ross' tribute to Thierry Mugler, who has died aged 73, celebrates not only the French fashion designer's work but the pair's close bond too.
In a tweet, the iconic frontwoman of The Supremes said, "I will miss you Thierry Mugler this was a wonderful time in our lives."
Diana is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his celebrity fans, who include House of Gucci star Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Iman, the Kardashians, and more.

The French fashion designer's team made the announcement of his passing on Sunday, January 23, 2022. In the post, which was simply a black square, on his personal Instagram account, there was a statement written in both French and English.
It read, "We are devastated to announce the passing of Mr. Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday, January 23rd 2022. May his soul Rest In Peace."
Thierry was born December 21, 1948, in Strasbourg, France. His fashion career began in the 1970s and it wasn't long before he became known for his avant-garde, groundbreaking, dramatic designs.

He retired from the brand in 2003, but the label continued under the creative direction of Casey Cadwallader. Thierry's influence has continued to be pervasive in the world of entertainment, with his archive being a go-to for celebrities like the Kardashians, the Hadids, and most recently Cardi B.
Thierry also came out of retirement to design the costumes for Beyoncé's 2009 I Am... World tour. Fusing his love of fashion, design, and performance, he was also involved in the production of the show too. This meant he played a part in the choreography, artistic direction, and lighting of the huge tour and the subsequent documentary about it too.
Last year Kim Kardashian's Met Gala look split opinions—but her Mugler dress from the Met Gala 2019 remains one of her most beloved. Thierry was responsible for Kim Kardashian's unforgettable wet look dress worn to the Met Gala back in 2019.
