Cher's Malibu mansion has hit the property market and it's just as divine as you might expect. So what kind of house does $85M get you?
When it comes to long hairstyles for women over 50, there are few who do it quite as well as the one and only singer of anthems like Believe and Strong Enough. It might be hard to believe (pun intended) but the icon may have a little help in the department as reportedly she has a special wig room in her home.
Set just off the world-famous Pacific Coast Highway, the Italian Renaissance-style estate, built in 1989, took a whopping five years to build. The Washington Post (opens in new tab)reports that the stunning home is set on 1.7 acres and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Robert Kass of Hilton & Hyland told the publication, "the main residence spans roughly 13,200 square feet with arched windows and doors facing the ocean. There is also a separate gatehouse, infinity pool, and tennis court."
Cher said in an email, per the Washington Post, that the home was inspired by the stunning Italian city of Venice. Its views, she said, are unparalleled. “From every room, there is an ocean view,” she added.
The stunning gated property has a driveway, lined with 40 palm trees and a magnificent Moorish-style fountain. Before you even get to the palatial home, there's a gatehouse - which serves as a guesthouse. Considering the fact that there are seven bedrooms in Cher's Malibu mansion, it's likely the gatehouse is seldom used!
Her pool has a view of the Pacific and the realtor revealed more about her incredibly home. "In the main residence, the primary suite has a meditation room and two closets, including one that doubles as a panic room, The primary bathroom is designed like a hammam with Turkish wood screens." The lower level of the house has an indoor-outdoor gym and theater. According to the 2002 book The Cher Scrapbook (opens in new tab), Cher also has a climate-controlled wig room with close to 100 hairpieces.
