Anne Hathaway totally looks like her The Devil Wears Prada character at New York Fashion Week while sitting next to Anna Wintour
Fans can't believe it's been 16 years since Anne Hathaway starred in The Devil Wears Prada alongside Meryl Streep as an Anna Wintour-like fashion editor
Talk about life imitating art.
While attending the Michael Kors runway presentation during New York Fashion Week, actor Anne Hathaway sat next to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, and the two channeled fan-favorite movie The Devil Wears Prada, which is actually being turned into a musical featuring music by pop icon Sir Elton John.
The 2006 cult movie starred Anne as Andrea Sachs, a college graduate who dreams of becoming a magazine writer but settles for an assistant position at the prestigious Runway magazine as a way to get her foot in the door. Andrea starts questioning her life's decisions while assisting the "diabolical" editor Miranda Priestly, played by the wonderful Meryl Streep and by many compared to the top dog at Vogue.
During the New York Fashion Week presentation, 39-year-old Anne, who already dressed like her character in The Devil Wears Prada back in June to the delight of all of her fans, fully resembled her iconic movie character throughout the show. She opted for an Andrea-esque outfit made up of a brown crocodile skirt with matching jacket, which she wore over a black turtleneck. Anne's haircut was also almost identical to the one she sported while inhabiting the role (bangs!).

Unsurprisingly, the Internet went crazy over the Anne-and-Anna appearance, with popular Instagram account @diet_prada actually posting a side-by-side slideshow of Anne-as-Andrea and Anna sitting front row at the Michael Kors presentation.
"It’s giving Andy Sachs, 2022!," reads the caption written under the photos. "@annehathaway was spotted sitting next to Miranda Priestly… sorry, Anna Wintour, at the @michaelkors Spring 2023 show."
Fans and fellow celebrities took to social media to comment on the episode as well. Social media personality Matt Bernstein wrote, "the way she looks exactly the same 17 years later should be studied."

British model and alopecia advocate Gina Atinuke Knight hilariously called out the end of the 16-year-old movie by writing, "So she didn’t throw her phone in the fountain in the end? 😂"
Plenty of other users called it a full circle moment while many demanded a sequel (we couldn't agree more!).
Overall, Anne has been killing it on the fashion front throughout the past few months. Folks are still talking bout her top Cannes looks, including THAT pink jumpsuit that everybody scrambled to buy, and her strong summer fashion game, which included the trendiest cream-colored outfit we've seen all season long.
In Miranda Priestley’s words, "that’s all."
