Amal Clooney is an internationally renowned barrister, a prominent defender of human rights around the world and someone who has defended Nobel Prize laureates, presidents and WikiLeads founder Julian Assange.

And if that isn’t impressive enough, she has been named as one of Time 2022’s Women of the Year.

So it’s no surprise that she has a lot more to discuss than just who she’s married to.

However, Amal Clooney has given fans rare insight into her personal life and her marriage to George Clooney.

In an interview with Time magazine, Amal discussed balancing work and family life with husband George through their Clooney Foundation for Justice. "Marriage has been wonderful.”

"I have in my husband a partner who is incredibly inspirational and supportive, and we have a home filled with love and laughter."

"It is a joy beyond anything I could ever have imagined," she added.

"I feel so lucky to have found a great love in my life, and to be a mother—this is how I get my balance."

Amal also touched on how she used being thrust more into the spotlight after marrying a Hollywood heartthrob to her advantage.

In her interview, she explains how her public profile is a great platform to highlight her humanitarian work.

"In terms of an increased public profile, I think all I can do is try to turn the spotlight to what is important. That can definitely benefit some clients," Amal said.

Amal and George first met in 2013.

George opened up on their first encounter to David Letterman in January 2018.

He explained that Amal came to his Lake Como home with a mutual friend, much to the delight of his agent. “I got a call from my agent, who said, 'I met this woman who's coming to your house who you're going to marry,'" George recalled.

George later revisited the moment on a 2021 podcast, saying, “The truth was I met this amazing woman, and she took my breath away. She was brilliant and funny and beautiful and kind. I was sort of swept off my feet."

The pair were married in a lavish Venice extravaganza back in 2014.

The couple share twins Ella and Alexander.
