Adele is just one award from making history, with the potential to become the youngest ever member of an elite club
Adele is one award shy from joining an incredibly exclusive club
Adele continues making world domination look effortless as she picks up another major award – and this one has left her very close to joining a prestigious club.
The Easy On Me songstress picked up a Creative Emmy award on Saturday night, meaning she’s just a Tony Award away from completing the exclusive and elusive EGOT status.
Adele’s televised One Night Only, which saw her perform to countless stars in Los Angeles including Leonardo DiCaprio and Selena Gomez and have a sit down interview with Oprah Winfrey, picked up five Creative Emmy awards.
Amongst the wins were Outstanding Variety Special (pre-recorded).

This means she now has ticked off the E in EGOT – EGOT stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony.
Adele has won 15 Grammy awards throughout her career and won the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 2013 Academy Awards.
However, the Hello singer has previously admitted that she’s not sure the Tony is on the horizon.

Speaking to James Corden as part of his Carpool Karaoke skit, she said, “The Tony’s pretty unlikely though, isn’t it? What am I going to be doing?”
“What, writing a huge musical?” asked James.
“I ain’t got time for that,” Adele assured him.
With her Vegas residency already sold out and subtle hints she wants children with Rich Paul, there’s no doubt she has a busy schedule ahead.
Who has won the EGOT?
- Richard Rodgers (composer and musician)
- Helen Hayes (actress)
- Rita Moreno (actress)
- John Gielgud (actor)
- Audrey Hepburn (actress)
- Marvin Hamlisch (composer)
- Jonathn Tunick (composer)
- Mel Brooks (actor and writer)
- Mike Nichols (director)
- Whoopi Goldberg (actress)
- Scott Rudin (producer)
- Robert Lopez (composer)
- Andrew Lloyd Webber (composer)
- Tim Rice (songwriter and producer)
- John Legend (singer-songwriter)
- Alan Menken (composer)
- Jennifer Hudson (actress and singer)
Jennifer Hudson was the latest superstar to join the club, and at 40-years-old, is currently the youngest woman to complete the feat.
The Dreamgirls actress could actually be inspiration for Adele to snag a Tony, too.
Jennifer won the Tony award for her role as a producer of the Broadway smash, A Strange Loop.
So, Adele, if you see this, you don’t have to write a huge musical – just help produce a really good one. If she does it within the next 5 or 6 years, Adele, who is 34, could become the youngest ever winner.
If anybody can do it, it’s Someone Like You, Adele…
