Em the Nutritionist's decadent kitchen renovation proves that stainless steel can feel warm and welcoming
The nutritionist turned author has completely transformed her London flat's kitchen, and it's undeniably chic
Emily English, more commonly known as Em The Nutritionist, has shared the before-and-after of her decadent kitchen transformation, filled with unique style notes.
While we pride ourselves on knowing the latest kitchen trends, occasionally we see a space that brings something new to the table, and it immediately catches our attention. Nutritionist and food journalist Emily English's recent kitchen renovation has given us several reasons to stop and take inspiration.
Now, if you're looking for budget kitchen updates, this might not be the inspo you've been looking for; however, there are so many style notes you can take from this space and utilise in your own home.
While it's possible to transform your kitchen with budget buys, this renovation is a whole other ball game. Em's London flat previously had a more confined galley kitchen, with a separate room for the dinner table.
Now it's a stunning open-plan space, with a chic stainless steel island softly separating the cooking and dining areas. Em also opted for a stainless steel sink, which we wouldn't usually choose for a home, but it works incredibly well with the statement marble surfaces and backsplash.
Choosing an open-plan kitchen can be a common kitchen design mistake to make; however, if you decide on the functionality of the room before you make the decision they can work incredibly well.
While marble and neutral cabinets are a classic design choice, Em has added personality with dusty pink dining chairs and a complementary green tufted rug under the table.

She's also thoughtfully introduced the cafecore trend with a hidden drinks and coffee area which sits opposite the dining table. Finished with stylish glassware, Smeg appliances, and luxurious fitted lighting, giving the area a welcoming glow.
The room still feels and looks expensive with these homely touches, which shows how choosing confident interior styles and materials can do the heavy lifting when transforming a space.
