Gloria Steinem's home is an inspiring reflection of her historic and iconic life - each room bursting with personality

After the world tragically lost Gloria Steinem at the beginning of the month, the world has celebrated the iconic activist's work and life as well as mourned the devastating loss. One snapshot into the American journalist's life is her home, which is itself a celebration of her full and bold life.

It's not often we look at the homes of public figures after they've sadly passed away, but such a powerful space like Gloria Steinem's NYC apartment is one to be honoured and enjoyed. The trailblazing feminist hosted Architectural Digest in 2024, and her home is one filled with inspiration, iconic memorabilia, and of course a truckload of personality.

So whilst we continue to remember the important work Gloria did in her 92 years, we'd also like to show appreciation for the space she curated so wonderfully and the eccentric four walls she called home for over 50 years.

It's no surprise that one of the nationally recognised leaders of second-wave feminism was ahead of the curve in most other aspects of her life. Her home, with its decadent mural, cohesive colour palettes and layered lighting, is a tasteful cocktail of everything we've come to know and love in the interior trends of today.

So, whilst we may not all have quite the impact Gloria did on the world, we're certainly inspired to take a leaf out of her book and celebrate our lives loudly in our homes.
