The 6 products our beauty team uses every single morning - because they're just that good
From gentle cleansers to root cover-ups and lip masks, these are the morning beauty steps we never skip.
Wake, cleanse, moisturise, repeat: our beauty team have outlined the six products they use every morning, no matter the season, occasion or whether they're running late...
As beauty journalists, there are a lot of products that we love and recommend, but when it comes to our morning routines, there are few core formulas that we never skip or swap out. Our go-to best face moisturisers, for instance, and favourite lip balms are ones we've been using and repurchasing for years. And personally, we think the fact that we use them to start our days, Monday through to Sunday, speaks volumes to their efficacy and value for money.
So if you're looking to invest in skin, body and haircare buys that have earned the loyalty of our experts and have been rigorously tested, these are the formulas that are as essential, post-wake-up, as our morning coffees.
Inside our beauty team's everyday morning routines
While, of course, we sometimes use a few more products depending on our skin's needs, our moods and the season, there are at least six that never budge from the routine.
Naomi's 6 morning essentials
This under-eye brightener is so creamy and seamlessly melts into the skin, masking blue tones to deliver a fresh, smooth and more awake look - and it sits beautifully under foundation, specifically Merit's Complexion Stick, which Naomi also uses almost daily.
From her favourite Korean toner pads to the under-£10 body lotion she's always repurchasing (our monthly beauty empties prove as much), Beauty Writer Naomi Jamieson's morning routine is full of hydrating formulas ideal for combating dry, tight and textured skin.
Fiona's 6 morning essentials
With built-in gel bars that help combat irritation and tugging, as well as a no-slip, ergonomic handle, these Venus razors offer a comfortable and easy shave. This set comes with three razors - ideal for stowing in your bathroom cabinet.
Aside from being adorably packaged, this mask features hyaluronic acid to nourish and visibly plump your lips, whilst also affording a lovely sheer pink tint to your lips and a bubble-gum scent. You can use it overnight, as a primer or just as an everyday glossy balm.
From her roots to her legs, Digital Beauty Editor, Fiona McKim, has curated a morning routine full of practical, problem-solving buys - spanning root coverups to a toothpaste with a very invigorating 'grown-up' minty flavour - ideal for starting your day off right.
Sennen's 6 morning essentials
Ranked amongst the best lip balms and top Tatcha products, the Kissu Lip mask is actually a favourite of both Sennen and Naomi's thanks to its smoothing and plumping blend of Japanese peach and olive-derived squalane.
Whether you're keen to start using natural deodorants or want to add a few K-beauty buys to your own routine, Digital Beauty Writer Sennen Prickett's morning routine is a full house of nourishing, skin-loving staples. She even has a specific detangling hairbrush on hand for her finer hair.
