Princess Diana's style has long been the stuff of legend and is enjoying a renaissance thanks to Netflix drama The Crown. Unsurprisingly, fans are eager to learn how to recreate her most notable makeup looks.
- Princess Diana's style is among the most famous in the annals of time.
- Of late, actors Emma Corrin and Elizabeth Debicki have played her in The Crown.
- In other Royal News, What is Kate Middleton's perfume and where can you buy it?
From THAT blue eyeliner to a sophisticated, barely-there tint to the skin, The Crown certainly charts Diana's make-up transformation.
There are plenty of looks to recreate but it's this blush trick, as revealed by Lady Di's former make-up artist Mary Greenwell, that has us gripped.
There's nothing quite like a pop of pink or warm peach on the cheeks to make you look more energized and youthful. Something Greenwell knows only too well.
‘I never did Princess Diana’s make-up without adding a bit of blush to her face. It instantly made her look fresher,' she recounts.
While there isn't one singular place to wear it, the most age-defying placement, according to Greenwell, is slightly above your cheekbones.
'‘Placing it there looks like it’s part of your skin. It also lifts your cheekbones. I wouldn’t put blush on the apples of your cheeks as it draws the cheekbones down."
The finishing touches would then be rose or nude lipstick.
A bit of concealer was added where needed and to disguise any dark shadows under the eyes. Then a blend of brown and taupe eyeshadow created a soft smoky effect.
In other words, looking effortlessly beautiful as Princess Diana always did.
