Oprah's favourite lipstick is good for the planet too.

You may not have heard of Axiology before - but that's all set to change now that the brand has been outed as Oprah's favourite lipstick.

Oprah's green credentials include being an avid gardener (who can forget the cover shoot with the golden retrievers?!) but now she's named these sustainable, zero waste lipsticks as one of her favourite things.

What makes Axiology's The Balmies Lip Cheek And Eye Balm so agenda setting is its distinct lack of plastic.

Think about it: when you normally come home with a new lipstick, you typically have to peel off a layer of cellophane to get to the box. Then after you've smooshed the last remnants of product on to your lips, you throw the tube into the rubbish.

Little of the plastic used to house makeup is recyclable, meaning most of it ends up in landfills. There it is likely to take nearly 1000 years to decompose.

Axiology has liberated its lipsticks from plastic waste. Instead, the pigmented crayon is wrapped in peel-off paper and housed in a little red cardboard box so there's no chance of lipstick squiggles in your handbag.

Like the name suggests, the crayons come in a range of shades that work for your lips, cheeks, and eyes. All are cruelty free and made of 100% lean, clean natural ingredients like coconut oil, avocado butter and candelila wax.

Simply apply the 3-in1 balm directly to eyes, lips and cheeks and blend the semi-matte finish in with fingertips. From a softly shimmering bronze to pinks, nudes, and reds, the shade range suits all skin tones.

Thanks Oprah for the heads up - *adds to basket straight away for stocking fillers*
