While a trip to Paris might not be imminent, the City of Lights will let you experience one of its most iconic destinations right from the comfort of your couch: that's right, art lovers, the Louvre is officially online—for free!
According to Apartment Therapy, the museum's website announced last week that it will join forces with Musée National Eugène-Delacroix to showcase their amazing collections digitally while the pandemic keeps the doors closed.
"Updated on a daily basis, it is the result of the continuous research and documentation efforts carried out by teams of experts from both museums," the website read. Looks like we're ready for a night (or day) at the museum!

This marks new territory for the highly-sought-after tourist destination.
"‘For the first time, anyone can access the entire collection of works from a computer or smartphone for free, whether they are on display in the museum, on loan, even long-term, or in storage," Jean-Luc Martinez, president-director of the Musée du Louvre, said in a statement. "The Louvre’s stunning cultural heritage is all now just a click away!"

From paintings and sculptures to inscriptions and textiles, the collection offers a little bit of everything, quite literally. Over 480,000 pieces will be on display. Yes, this includes the Mona Lisa! Plus, you can have a look at themed albums and click on an interactive map of the museum. (The next best thing to being there in person, right?)
When it does come time to (safely) hop aboard a flight and experience other cultures, you might want to see who earned the title of one of the happiest countries in the world.
