No breakup is easy and while we typically surround ourselves with friends and family, Jennifer Lopez has also found comfort from a surprising source: her ex-husband.

After her split from fiancé Alex Rodriguez (again), PEOPLE reported that J.Lo is doing well as she continues filming her latest movie, Shotgun Wedding, in the Dominican Republic.

While she heals from the split, sources claim that J.Lo has found solace in her ex-husband and their twins Emme and Max.

"Jennifer is doing well. She is still filming in the Dominican Republic. The kids have visited her and they make her the happiest," the source said. "Jennifer and Marc Anthony have a great relationship. Having Marc around while she has had to work abroad has been very comforting for Jennifer."

The pair were married for eight years but called it quits back in 2011. Since then though, the two have maintained a positive relationship and have successfully co-parented their children together.

Fans were hoping that J.Lo and Alex could work things out, but ultimately, it was the lack of trust she had towards him that led to the official split. The couple had attempted to make things work (especially after two years of being engaged), but the pressures of the pandemic lockdown ended up being too much.

"She insisted on it. There are too many issues that are unresolved," a friend of Lopez told the outlet. "She has been pretty miserable and didn't think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex."

The two of them preferred spending time with one another and found it hard to reignite the "special" spark they had.

"They both liked spending more time together as a family, but it was difficult to keep that special spark when they saw each other every day," another source said. Rumors of infidelity by Alex also put pressure on the couple. While that wasn't what resulted in the split, J.Lo didn't want to "tolerate the fear of it in the air between them," an additional insider added.
