Aldi Wine School has launched two new jargon-busting modules to its online wine-tasting course, giving adults tips and tricks to brush up on how to identify a Chablis from a Sancerre – and what dish they are best paired with.

How many times have you invested in the best induction pans to rustle up the perfect dinner party dishes for friends, only to fall when it comes to buying the wine? You’re not the only one – research shows 91% of people admit to bluffing their knowledge in order to impress friends and family. Admit it, we've all been there, right?

The expertly curated online course contains eight bitesize modules and is the perfect way to spend your hours in lockdown. Plus it is completely free of charge – saving you approximately £400 if you were to access the knowledge elsewhere.

Now budding wine connoisseurs can brush up on their knowledge with free access to the online educational hub, which includes two new wine modules, along with a range of expertly curated tips and tricks.

Whether you want to find out more about your favourite drinks or delve into the unknown by sampling new notes, then Aldi's Wine School offers price-tag friendly, pressure-free learning for all.

Shoppers will also have access to a series of guided tasting videos and live tutorials from tipple experts Sam Caporn, Mistress of Wine (one of only 409 Masters of Wine worldwide) and wine critic, journalist and TV presenter, Jilly Goolden.

Sam explained, “Aldi is known for offering great quality wines at affordable prices with many award-winning bottles available for under £5. But sometimes, deciding which one to choose can be overwhelming. That’s why the Aldi Wine School, with its jargon-free courses, hints and tips, is perfect for giving customers the confidence to try new things – we hope that it helps to spark a sense of fun and excitement when it comes to learning about wine!”

Following on from the success of Aldi’s 2019 Aldiploma – a series of six, free online modules – Aldi’s Wine School launches with modules seven and eight, a guide to New World wines, which explores new up-and-coming wine regions, and a wine and food matching masterclass – perfect for those simply looking for the best vino to match their grub.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK added, “Our entry-level Aldiploma course has already helped thousands of wannabe wine buffs to discover the best ways to taste wine, get to grips with their grape varieties, and have the knowledge needed when selecting a wine. The Aldi Wine School is the next logical step in our mission to open up the wonderful world of wine to all.”

Aldi won Drinks Retailer of the Year award at the Retail Industry Awards 2020 for a second year running and its award-winning wines are available to buy in store and online via the Aldiploma wines section to accompany the course, enabling you to sip your way through the class.

Homeschooling isn’t just for children... but this course is for adults only!
