I've always wondered how to make the most out of my scarf collection, and Trinny Woodall's latest styling video, '25 Ways to Style a Scarf,' offers the perfect solutions.

From "making them into skirts" to layering leopard print, this video tells us exactly how to use our favourite accessories to make standout outfits. This is might just be the perfect way to mix up your winter capsule wardrobe looks without buying a whole new closet.

She reveals that an oversized scarf can go a long way, recommending larger cut pieces (210 cm x 180 cm), she demonstrates how they can be wrapped, tucked, and layered into skirt-like silhouettes, an innovative styling move that can be used all year round.

There are three standout looks that immediately caught my eye: a vintage Louis Vuitton leopard print scarf wrapped into a skirt styled with a leopard print silk blouse and brown gilet, which Trinny mentions was from "Portobello Market" and that from the "70s.". And the chicest grey printed square scarf, layered over leggings, a grey jumper, and an oversized blazer to complete the outfit.

The final look that deserves attention is the block-coloured purple look, consisting of a large, wrapped, and tucked skirt, a matching tone jumper, and an unexpected orange beaded necklace—simply so chic!

If you are going to transform your scarves into skirts, what's essential, according to Trinny, is the leggings; make sure to invest in a quality pair to keep you warm and comfortable.

Nothing says Christmas like a striking red lipstick and we love how Princess Anne subtly incorporated the festive style into a recent everyday look - her striking red scarf and Christmas-ready lipstick looked great with her checked suit co-ord.

Princess Anne's signature style is timeless and classic, with the royal championing the best British clothing brands as she focuses on practicality as well as impeccable style. Her wardrobe is full of timeless staples and she owns a number of skirt and blazer co-ords that have become her go-tos for engagements over the past few years.

So we weren't surprised when she stepped out in one for a recent engagement at the National Coast Watch Institution - but that doesn't mean we loved the look any less. For the appearance, she wore a tartan midi skirt with a matching coat and highlighted the red running through the pattern by adding a festive and bright red scarf to the outfit and swiping on a classic red lipstick for a striking and bold look.

The chic calf-length skirt and longline coat blend kept Princess Anne warm in the windy seaside town during her visit, with her opting to wear a practical pair of black leather knee-high boots alongside the look for an extra layer of protection from the elements.

While practical, the outfit was also incredibly chic. The deep grey tone of the woollen co-ord let the striking red checked pattern across it stand out even in the cloudy light, and the addition of a bold red scarf tucked tightly around her neck highlighted the tone for a subtle festive flair that we're definitely going to be incorporating into our own everyday outfits until the holiday season is over.

When she took off her scarf, she revealed the beautiful satin scarf that was hiding underneath it, with this piece also boasting a red-heavy pattern to tie in the festive shade - and who could ignore her leather gloves? The style is so sleek and oozes elegance, with the heavy and luxurious fabric perfectly blending practicality with style.

A swiping of red lipstick only further emphasised the festive feel of her look, with Anne being a long time fan of the bright and bold lip colour. The matte finish of the lipstick gave the colour a subtler, more muted look which is perfect for wearing day-to-day, with the raspberry-toned red stopping it from feeling like 'too much' for a more casual and laid-back affair.

Perhaps preempting the windy weather, Anne styled her hair in a chic updo and swept her hair back into a bun, though tied it loosely so as to leave tonnes of volume at the roots for a classic and timeless style.

Fans of the royal loved the look, with one writing on Instagram, "Princess Anne is absolutely fabulous!! She's my favourite." While another added, "Love her, what a woman!"

There can never be too much leopard print in your wardrobe, can there? And now we're adding leopard print accessories to it too after spotting Cat Deeley in a matching leopard print scarf, gloves and pair of ear muffs.

Or you can lean into bright and festive colours, with the leopard print acting as the neutral we all know it to really be. Taking inspiration from Cat, start with a pair of bold and colourful trousers, ground the statement shade with a black top, and add your fluffy leopard print winter staples for a pop of pattern and texture.

We're taking style notes from Ruth Langsford who perfectly balanced style with practicality when she added a striking checked scarf and timeless burgundy handbag to her monochrome winter look.

With winter in full swing, practical dressing is a priority. While Ruth sported a sophisticated and classic french tip manicure for this outing, this winter we'd finish off the outfit with some trendy maroon nails and, in place of Ruth's nude-toned lipstick and minimal makeup look, tie everything together with a deep red lip to really make the burgundy elements pop.

Her chic voluminous bob is a hairstyle we love, with her full fringe and side-parting showing off just one of the many variations of this short hairstyle. With her strands straightened to curve slightly in at her chin and frame the face, we can imagine this style being a no-fuss winter go-to that can effortlessly transition from day to night and occasion to occasion.

Queen Mary's latest look is a masterclass in adding colour to autumn outfits, with the royal styling a striking pair of red trousers with a practical and stylish beige trench coat.

Stepping out at the Danevirke Museum during her and King Frederik's trip to Germany on 22 October, Mary put together a brilliantly eye-catching look with a pair of striking red suit trousers.

But while Mary's trousers were bright and bold, the rest of her outfit boasted only neutral shades. She paired the trousers with a practical beige trench coat, with the knee-length jacket tied securely at her waist with a tie-belt that nipped in her waist and created a flattering and sophisticated silhouette - it's really a masterclass in how to style a trench coat.

Her black accessories grounded the outfit, with Mary opting for a pair of black Chelsea-style ankle boots and a matching black scarf. The thick, woollen scarf looked impossibly cosy, with Mary wrapping it tightly around her neck to battle the chill.

For jewellery, she added a pair of simple gold earrings with diamanté details, bringing a subtle hint of shine into the look.

We caught a quick glimpse of Mary's patterned shirt which she wore under her coat, but we think this outfit would look great with either a black turtle neck long-sleeve top or a black knitted jumper to give it a casual-chic feel as opposed to a more formal-feeling suit trousers and shirt combo.

With the seasons changing we can’t help but look forward to all the things about autumn/winter that make these months so cosy - from frosty walks to Sunday Roasts by a cosy fire. Ice skating is another thing that so many people enjoy this time of year and Pippa Middleton has been spotted skating on more than one occasion. It seems her skillset knows no bounds and the ever-fashionable Pippa is no stranger to showcasing both her skating and style credentials at the rink. Back in November 2008 the Princess of Wales’s younger sister attended the VIP Opening of the Somerset House Ice Rink in London.

She was photographed wearing a faux fur trimmed gilet, relaxed black jeans and a leopard print scarf that could be part of anyone’s autumn capsule wardrobe. The combination might not be everyone’s first thought when it comes to an ice skating outfit, but it could be now after seeing how chic she looked in her cosy ensemble.

Pippa’s outfit base was a long sleeved black jumper and her straight leg jeans in a washed black colourway. This is a great combination of staples that can easily be mixed and matched with brighter accessories or outerwear pieces. However, Pippa decided to keep her ice skating look very neutral and generally stuck with a colour palette of brown and black.

Her gorgeous gilet was layered over the top of her jumper and was a rich chocolate brown shade with a tie fastening at the waist and faux fur detailing. It appeared as though the fluffy material lined her entire gilet and folded over at the front to create lapels. This was likely so comfortable and soft to wear and Pippa’s choice of a gilet was masterful for skating.

Having her arms free and uncovered by a jacket meant that she probably had more freedom of movement when she was making her way round the ice rink, whilst her torso was covered and kept toasty warm by the gilet. The Princess of Wales’s sister tucked her black jumper into her jeans and added a brown belt that coordinated with the rest of her look.

Once you’ve found the best jeans for your body type some people might be reluctant to steer away from this style, but Pippa’s flared jeans might inspire you to try this silhouette. They have a bit more of a relaxed feel than the skinny jeans she and the future Queen both love to wear, but they have the same fitted top half that helps to give a streamlined look.

Pippa wore hers draped over the top of her ice skates, though if you’d prefer to tuck your jeans into ice skates this autumn/winter, then perhaps skinny jeans or leggings might be better options. The dark wash of her jeans, though, is a lovely tone for the colder months and works very well with other dark colours like burgundy, black and forest green. The addition of her subtle leopard print scarf tucked inside her gilet was a beautiful touch as well as being another warm outfit element.

The leopard print trend has been huge this year and Pippa wearing this scarf in 2008 shows how often it comes back into fashion again as a bold yet wearable pattern. Whilst we all might be missing the summer sunshine, Pippa’s chic ice skating outfit has given us plenty of autumn/winter styling inspiration that’s got us excited for the months to come.

Cameron Diaz gave us the perfect autumn outfit inspiration when she stepped out in a pair of casual ripped jeans and a cosy scarf back in 2014 - her suede boots are the perfect elevated footwear for this season.

Adding a chic touch of gold into the outfit, Cameron accessorised with a simple pair of gold drop-detail earrings. The warm-yellow tone added a subtle shining sheen into the casual look and complimented the warm blonde highlights in her short, layered bob.

The hair cut is one that's still super on trend even 10 years after Cameron stepped out in this look, proving the timeless appeal of the short and laid-back hairstyle. We love how the highlights bring dimension to her mousy brown hair colour, with heavier blonde strands around her face framing her features beautifully.

Victoria Beckham has us shopping for leather accessories after stepping out in a stunning and unexpected leather neck scarf - the look is so chic with a fun, edgy touch.

Victoria Beckham's exits from her go-to Paris hotel, La Réserve, have become an iconic part of Paris Fashion Week. In the years she's been attending as a designer, she's walked out the hotel's doors in some of her best looks and her Sunday outfit is sure to be joining that list.

It also comes in a blue mix, so if you're not a fan of red tones, you're covered too.

Of course there are clear differences, the most obvious being the materials used. The Acne Studios scarf offers a super soft blend of mohair that's heavy and cosy. M&S have released a new autumn coat that looks just like the viral Toteme scarf jacket, but at a fraction of the price.

As we head into autumn, we're keen to fill our autumn capsule wardrobes with warm and cosy pieces that can help us battle the seasonal chill in style. And while it would be wonderful to buy designer bags and high-end flattering coats to get a chic and refined look, that's just not possible or sustainable when it comes to budget.

Duchess Sophie's vibrant hair scarf is the unique summer accessory we’re shopping for right now and it transforms a classic updo.

Over the years Duchess Sophie’s moved away from the short bob hairstyles she used to love and has kept her golden blonde tresses at collar-bone length. This gives her plenty of hair to work with for updos and wearing her hair pulled back from her face is one of the Duchess of Edinburgh’s go-to hairstyles. Whilst a ponytail, bun or even a French twist are all incredibly classic, the senior royal has found the perfect way to add a sense of fun to a timeless updo. She’s no stranger to wearing bold shades and patterns and Duchess Sophie’s vibrant hair scarf added a splash of colour to her outfit at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. 

Her Royal Highness is a regular attendee at the show, which is held in Home Park near Windsor Castle and her daughter Lady Louise Windsor often competes in the carriage driving. On Day 2, Duchess Sophie opted for a sleek ponytail tied with a patterned scarf.

The scarf was a silk one from Hermès and it looked to have been one of their twillies - small accessories that can be worn in many ways. Duchess Sophie’s scarf couldn’t have screamed summer more if it tried with its playful pattern of butterflies, hearts and geometric shapes as well as the colour palette. The scarf incorporated orange, emerald green, bubblegum pink, blue, lavender and lemon - nailing several of the spring/summer fashion colour trends for 2024.

The Duchess of Edinburgh knotted hers around her low ponytail which was likely secured with a hairband underneath, rather than directly with the scarf. With the ends of Duchess Sophie’s vibrant scarf hanging down her back, they added boldness to her outfit which consisted of a khaki tailored blazer, white blouse and navy maxi skirt with knee high boots.

Using a scarf as a hair accessory is a great way to transform even the most casual or simple of outfits and depending on how neutral your wardrobe staples are, a bright scarf could go with so many looks. You can secure it around a ponytail like the Duchess of Edinburgh, or around a bun or long plait - all you need is enough hair to secure it around.

Alternatively you could also tie it around your head and underneath your loose hair to create a hairband. A scarf like Duchess Sophie’s is also a lovely way to jazz up your holiday looks if you’re preparing to go away and wouldn’t take up too much room in your suitcase.

Given how often she usually attends the five-day show it’s possible that we could see another scarf look from her before it draws to a close. Either way it’s a look that we’re taking inspiration from for the upcoming summer months.
