She hasn’t been seen in public since September last year due to the fallout from the Epstein scandal. But it was probably only a matter of time before Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York was finally found.

A daily newspaper tracked her down to the Austrian Alps, where she’s apparently been hiding out in a £2,000-a-night chalet.

She is staying near one of her favourite wellness retreats - the Mayrlife Medical Health Resort in the spa town of Altaussee - and has been there since February.

She’s said to be in no rush to leave, despite her location being rumbled.

Friends say she is burying her head in the sand, after US lawmakers allegedly asked Fergie to testify to Congress following releases from the Epstein files about her close ties to the US financier and convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who died in 2019.

It’s claimed she has yet to respond, and there is no legal mechanism in place to force her to testify.

Sarah was stripped of her courtesy royal title when her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was 'de-Princed' last year, and six companies linked to the former duchess, including the Sarah’s Trust charity, have also since been closed.

The newspaper report said she’d checked into Room 101 under her former royal title and rarely leaves the Alpine chalet.

It’s thought that she’s hidden herself away to protect her children and grandchildren.

I have to admit that, despite her appalling lack of judgement, craven need for money and crawling friendship with Epstein, I do feel a tiny bit sorry for her.

She adores her family, will be devastated not to see them and Princesses Eugenie - who is pregnant with her third child - and Beatrice are said to be in close contact with their ‘Mumsy’.

What future is there for her?

I doubt that she’s paying for the luxury accommodation herself (the resort charges a dizzying £2,530 for its seven-day wellness treatment protocol) and must be bored out of her mind.

Sure, the views are lovely but she isn’t even going out for bracing walks in the stunning mountain and lakeside scenery.

There’s all sorts of talk of her being inundated with book and TV interview offers - one of which was even thought to be worth £1.3m - to tell her side of the story.

Then again… maybe she should just stay quiet.

She described their relationship as the ‘happiest divorced couple in the world’. But after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor lost his titles and his home, Sarah Ferguson appeared to place distance between her and the man she once called 'my rock'.

Last autumn, when Andrew was effectively ordered out of Royal Lodge, Windsor, by King Charles, Sarah let it be known she would not be moving to Norfolk with him. And, after his arrest in February, it was reported she'd told friends, 'When I come back, I am going to have to put some distance between myself and Andrew.'

The message seemed clear - she was cutting him off.

But while this is the public narrative she's adopting, to try to avoid being finished by the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, it's my understanding that this is far from the truth.

I can reveal she has been in close touch with her disgraced former husband, both before and after his arrest on his 66th birthday, at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate.

A source told me, ‘Sarah has been out of the UK since the start of the year and so hasn't seen Andrew, but has been in constant contact by phone.

‘Some of it, of course, was panicking about the latest Epstein files that have been released, but also to provide support and comfort to him at a very dark time.

'She has told him he's a great man, who has always been honourable and done his duty. He still maintains he's done nothing wrong - and she is happy, however delusional that may seem, to reflect that back to him, as ultimately they're in this together.

They will forever be inexorably tied, due to their friendship with Epstein.'

Sarah, 66, spent much of January at the £13,000-a-day Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, and was then reported to have spent time with Princess Eugenie in Qatar, before moving to the Ballyliffin Lodge & Spa in County Donegal, Ireland.

She has gone to ground while the fallout from Andrew's arrest, on suspicion of misconduct in public office, continues.

It has also been reported that she has told friends she needs to ‘get back to work' and earn money – and thus needs to escape reputational damage.

But frankly, I think it's probably too late for that.

Recent reports have suggested that US publishers have snubbed a £1.5 million book deal with Fergie - as no-one wants to be seen to be cashing in on the Epstein scandal.

Plus, the Epstein files clearly reveal her begging him for money - for flights for her and ‘the girls' (club for Beatrice and Eugenie, but always first class for her), paying off her debts, or making financial investments into her businesses.

As a joke (I assume and hope) Sarah even asked Epstein to marry her, after he had been jailed for child sex offences.

Sarah and Andrew separated in 1992 after six years of marriage, and divorced in 1996, but always maintained they were great friends. Since 2006 they have shared a home at Royal Lodge - with Fergie only moving out last autumn, and reportedly driven back in, lying down in the back of a car, to visit Andrew.

Their continued closeness often prompted speculation that they would rekindle their relationship, but Sarah has described them as their own form of ‘fairy tale' and a ‘united family'.

Promoting her Mills & Boon novel, Her Heart for a Compass, on Lorraine in 2021, Sarah said, ‘[Family unity] is very important for anyone watching. Communicate, compromise, compassion - those are the three Cs that are essential.'

Could Sarah ever move back in with Andrew? I doubt it somehow. She may be holding secret talks with Andrew over how they get over this latest 'bump', but the reality is that the House of York is now toxic.

Whatever is decided by the police and the Crown Prosecution Service over whether to charge Andrew or not, things will never be the same.

The King has cut them off from the monarchy, to try to desperately preserve the institution's reputation. There'll be no more public outings with the family - and the King hasn't even been to see his brother in private.

Andrew denies any wrongdoing from his association with Epstein. But it's safe to say that both Andrew and Fergie are off the Christmas card list forever.

After almost twenty years of living at Royal Lodge with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Sarah Ferguson moved out earlier this year, a Duchess no longer and with no new royal residence to call home. When it was first announced that formal notice had been served to her ex-husband to "surrender" the lease, reports speculated that Fergie could move in with one of their daughters.

However, Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank apparently aren’t eager for Fergie to move in. Speaking to the Daily Mail, a source claimed, "Eugenie and Jack are resisting any suggestion from her mother that she should come and live with them. Because to be frank Sarah is difficult to live with and they don’t want the responsibility of looking after her at the moment."

They stressed that this doesn’t mean they’re not concerned about Sarah’s welfare, but they "just don’t actually want her to be living with them, even temporarily." Eugenie and her older sister Beatrice haven’t been swept up in the flurry of scrutiny and headlines concerning their parents for months now.

They’re now the only members of their immediate family with titles and some have said that there’s just "one" royal fighting their corner. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently and vehemently denied the allegations against him concerning his connection to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Even so, the royal’s son-in-law Jack is said to be doing "everything he can" to not amplify the attention. A close source alleged that because of the businessman’s "code of honour", he will not "completely desert Andrew and Sarah" but won’t "step into the line of fire himself" as he’s focusing on protecting his family with Eugenie.

"His first loyalty has to be to his wife and their two young children. The whole sordid affair has already brought them a great deal of unwarranted attention and he won't do anything to increase that," they stated.

The couple married in October 2018 and have two sons, August (5) and Ernest (almost 3) that they’ll no doubt be keen to shield from the scrutiny. Princess Beatrice has two daughters, Sienna (4) and Athena (1) with her husband Edoardo Mapelli-Mozzi and a stepson, Wolfie.

Athena’s christening in December 2025 was the last time Sarah Ferguson was spotted in public and it’s not known where she’s living now. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on 19th February on suspicion of misconduct in a public office, shortly after relocating to Norfolk.

"Bea, in particular, has been dragged into this by her mother seemingly using her to try to get back into Epstein's good books," a friend told Woman Royal Editor, Emily Andrews. "She's distressed; she's not eating or sleeping… I'd imagine, like most of us would be, that she's on the verge of a nervous breakdown, and we're all really worried about her. Euge is the stronger of the pair, and putting on a brave face, but she's understandably devastated."

According to them, Eugenie and Beatrice are "having to come to terms with a criminal investigation into their father".

Never have the royal princesses had to face such a scandal.

The arrest of their father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor sent Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie into complete shock. But it has been the actions of their mother, Sarah Ferguson, that I understand has left them feeling 'devastated and betrayed' - and facing the 'ghastly' position of what it would take to have to cut off their own mum.

Now, the princesses don't know which way to turn - with Beatrice reportedly 'severely distressed' and Eugenie left feeling 'duped'.

A friend told me, 'They've been dragged into this scandal because their mum took them to visit one of her friends [Epstein] and were asked to have tea or give tours of Buckingham Palace to his friends.

'They believed what they were told by their parents – that they did nothing wrong.'

Last October, their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was stripped of his Prince title and Duke of York honours after it became clear he had lied about ending his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein in December 2010.

The latest Epstein files from America's Department of Justice revealed their friendship had continued – latterly through intermediaries – until around 2017.

At the time, Buckingham Palace stressed that the King regarded the two sisters as blameless.

But since then additional documents have revealed Beatrice, now 37, and Eugenie, 35, went to visit the convicted paedophile at his mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, with their mother, Sarah Ferguson, in July 2009, only a week after he was released from jail for child sex offences.

The police investigation into Epstein was first started after a complaint from a girl aged 14.

Emails from Sarah also appear to show how she consulted Beatrice about how to get back into Epstein's good books.

The emails from her to the financier repeatedly show her begging for money - either for unpaid rent or to pay off outstanding staff salaries running to thousands. So it's unsurprising that Beatrice and Eugenie feel so upset.

I'm told that Andrew told them the same story as he told the late Queen and King Charles - that he'd done nothing wrong.

The princesses were 19 and 20 when Fergie took them on holiday to Miami to see Epstein.

It's easy to be critical in hindsight now that Epstein's crimes are front and centre, but if your parents say ‘we're going to lunch with a friend', you probably wouldn't think anything of it.

The sisters are reported to be holding 'crisis talks' as the scandal engulfing their parents continues, and are described as 'mortified' at their mother's relationship with Epstein.

As for Fergie - well, she's doing what she does best…

She went on holiday - first to an expensive and lavish wellness retreat in Switzerland in January, then to sunnier climes in Qatar before returning to the Alps.

Now, she is apparently 'laying low with friends' in the UK and 'in constant tears', convinced that it is vital to keep her 'distance' from Andrew, with whom she remained very close after their divorce in the mid-1990s.

'People have been talking about her secretly getting out abroad but that would involve planning and money and stealth and she hasn't got any of those things,' said one source.

'She is not in a good place. She is a very delicate human.'

However, she remains in hiding, with no public sightings of the former duchess made since the scandal exploded.

And what of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's relationship with Eugenie - and indeed Fergie, whose royal rehabilitation started with an invite to their wedding?

Harry and Eugenie are close - they both own homes in the same complex in Portugal and the princess is reportedly the only member of the family to have visited the Sussexes at their Montecito home.

I'm told both Meghan and Harry have been 'supportive' of their cousin.

But it was Prince Harry who was the first member of the family to publicly speak out about the allegations.

In his memoir Spare he complained that Andrew still received security (paid for by King Charles), 'Despite being embroiled in a shameful scandal.'

It's reported that neither daughter has yet been to see their father at Wood Farm, on the Sandringham estate.

Instead the King, his older brother, has said ‘the law must take its course' in a statement after his arrest that did not even refer to the fact they were brothers.

Who knows where this story will go next – but one thing is for sure… It won't be over for some time and the betrayal of two children won't easily be forgiven. Mother's Day I'd imagine will be very lonely for Sarah.

As soon as I saw that ITV’s new four-part series was from the producers of The Crown I was intrigued, but The Lady is a totally different royal drama. Based on true events, it centres on the much-publicised rise and fall of Jane Andrews, who worked as Sarah Ferguson's dresser for nine years.

Her friendship and working relationship with the former Duchess of York was fascinating and The Lady, which has been described as a "toxic fairytale", depicts Jane’s arrest for the murder of her boyfriend Thomas Cressman.

Given that even the most faithful of life-to-screen adaptations stray a little from the facts, many viewers will likely have been left wondering how much of what they see and hear on the ITV drama series really happened. Here I explain the truth behind The Lady and if Jane Andrews really murdered Thomas and went to prison.

Did Jane Andrews kill Thomas Cressman?

Shocking as it sounds, Jane Andrews did kill her boyfriend Thomas ‘Tommy’ Cressman in 2000. The Lady’s version of events is understandably tweaked for TV and, respectfully, they didn't show the murder itself on-screen. Writer Debbie O’Malley has revealed that from the beginning they knew they didn’t want to depict this violence, adding that there was "nothing to be gained" from that, as "it was never disputed that Jane killed Tommy".

Although Jane Andrews was no longer Sarah Ferguson’s dresser (she left as an employee in 1997) when she committed murder, she was still well-known for this former role. She and Tommy had been to the French Riviera on a disastrous holiday.

Following this, on 16th September, he’s reported to have called 999, saying, "We are rowing, someone is going to get hurt unless… I would like police to come and split us up". The next day Tommy Cressman was hit by Jane with a cricket bat whilst in bed before being stabbed.

As reported by The Telegraph, Jane was found in her car in a lay-by and had taken an overdose of painkillers. Prior to her arrest, Jane apparently received answerphone messages from Sarah urging her to contact the police.

In court, Jane Andrews claimed that she had acted in self-defense after facing abuse. This was vehemently countered by the prosecution and Tommy’s family during the four-week trial and it was suggested that she killed him in a rage after he refused to marry her.

Did Jane Andrews go to prison for murder?

Jane Andrews was convicted of murdering Thomas Cressman in May 2011 and received a life sentence with a minimum term of 15 years. She ended up serving 14 and was released on license before returning to prison in 2018 after being accused of harassment by a past boyfriend.

Sarah Ferguson’s former dresser was then finally released in 2019. Jane had previously appealed her sentence in 2003 but her appeal was rejected. She was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder after being convicted.

Reflecting upon the real person that inspired Mia McKenna-Bruce’s fictional counterpart in The Lady, Debbie O’Malley said that they wanted to understand the person behind the headlines.

"Clearly this woman had killed somebody," she shared. "But the way she was written about… in very extreme terms painted a picture of a sort of monstrous figure. The more we dug into who she really was and her history, and the struggles she had throughout her life… it’s about understanding the human behind the headlines. Which doesn’t mean you’re forgiving, or looking to apportion blame in other places, but to understand how someone could get to that point."

Did Jane Andrews escape from prison?

As much as it sounds like fiction, Jane Andrews briefly escaped from East Sutton Park Prison in 2009 before being found by police two days later. It’s been widely reported that she was discovered in a Premier Inn in Maidstone with her parents who had driven to find her. She later returned to custody.

The Lady airs on ITV on Sundays and Mondays, with the finale airing on Monday 2nd March.

You couldn’t make it up. Just days before new royal drama The Lady’s UK release date, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office. He’s subsequently been released under investigation and has always consistently and vehemently denied allegations of wrongdoing.

No-one could've predicted the turn of events that would precede the show airing, though it has Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (played by Natalie Dormer) as one of its two main characters. The other is Fergie’s former dresser, Jane Andrews (Mia McKenna-Bruce), who the four-part show focuses on.

Yet I can’t help but feel that the current scandal involving the house of York will attract even more viewers to The Lady, many of whom might not even know the "toxic fairytale" story of Jane. No matter what reason you want to watch The Lady, real life has affected the drama in some ways.

Fergie lost her Duchess of York title in October when it was announced that Andrew would no longer use his Duke of York one, as hers was derived from his. Then King Charles confirmed he was stripping his brother of his princely title too. Sarah has not been accused of wrong-doing herself.

Though she has been embroiled in many headlines due to her own past links with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Several emails between them have been published, including one sent in 2011 where she referred to him as a "supreme friend".

Her spokesperson said that this email was sent in the "context of advice" following "threats" from Epstein but the scandal was overwhelming and multiple charities severed ties with her. Sarah has kept a low profile ever since, though Natalie Dormer (who plays her) was so appalled by the revelations that she announced she would no longer be promoting The Lady.

The actor - who’s known for her roles as Anne Boleyn in The Tudors and Cressida in The Hunger Games franchise - also vowed to donate her salary from the project.

"Since completing the project, new information has come to light that makes it impossible for me to reconcile my values with Sarah Ferguson's behaviour, which I believe is inexcusable," she said. "For that reason, I will not be taking part in the promotion of the project. In keeping with my commitment to the wellbeing of children."

As reported by the London Evening Standard, Natalie added that her "entire salary" would be donated to the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC) and the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse.

As she is one of the two lead stars of The Lady her decision not to promote it is a major thing and was the focus of many articles at the time.

Her portrayal of Sarah is key to the show and the dynamic between the real Fergie and Jane Andrews was fascinating. Anyone expecting to tune into the drama and see scenes between Sarah and Andrew unfold should also know that this is not going to be the case. The Lady’s writer Debbie O’Malley has been quoted as clarifying that "Andrew does not feature".

She adds that The Lady isn’t "interested in the royal world because it’s very much about the female, domestic world of Sarah and Jane’s part in it. We only ever see the Sarah that Jane got to see". Jane worked as Sarah’s dresser for nine years, though she was no longer a royal employee when she was arrested and tried for murder.

The Lady will tell her story in four episodes aired over two weeks, during which there will likely continue to be plenty of scrutiny on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The Lady airs on Sundays and Mondays at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

It was commissioned over a year ago, but the timing of the release of the new four-part drama The Lady so soon after Sarah Ferguson’s spectacular fall from grace has thrust the show even more into the spotlight. Which royals will we see in The Lady?

The Lady is primarily focused on Jane Andrews and Sarah Ferguson, so don’t expect to see lots of the Royal Family represented on screen - not even Fergie’s ex-husband. The show’s writer Debbie O’Malley has explained that the former Prince Andrew "does not feature" and said The Lady isn’t interested in the royal world "because it’s very much about the female, domestic world of Sarah and Jane’s part in it".

In the show "we only ever see the Sarah that Jane got to see". Jane Andrews worked as Sarah’s dresser for nine years before she lost her job. For the first part of this time Sarah was still married to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, though they separated and later divorced in 1996. Even so, The Lady is about the two women, one of whom happens to be a part of the Royal Family, and not the royals themselves.

The Lady starts on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on 22nd February.

She’s a children’s author with dozens of published books to date but as reports that ITV will not work with Sarah Ferguson gain traction and charities rush to delete connections with her, her book publishers, New Frontier, have remained surprisingly quiet on whether they will stand by her.

However, when you go to their website and click on her new book, the page you are taken to is perhaps tellingly blank. At the time of writing woman&home.com has approached New Frontier for a comment and have yet to receive a reply.

This latest blow comes after a major television broadcaster is said to have ruled Sarah out of any further work with one insider revealing that there’s "nothing in the pipeline for her".

It will come as a huge blow to Fergie who has made her way back into the public's affections in recent years by not only writing children’s books but by also appearing as a guest presenter and contributor on both This Morning and Loose Women.

The insider adds; "'There was once such high hopes for her…, she appeared on This Morning as a guest presenter and contributor, as well as Loose Women. Fergie did a lot with ITV for a time and was always part of the gang. She was very much part of the plans at ITV but no more.'"

The source also revealed that any chance of going back is officially over, claiming; "There will be no more Fergie on ITV, there are no longer any current plans or any more anytime in the future. She's done with the channel now."

Just two years ago Sarah joined the Loose Women panel to launch the Don’t Skip Your Screening campaign and shared deeply personal insights into her experience of being diagnosed with breast cancer. that summer. She was said to have seriously impressed ITV executives at the time with her appearance and was even tipped to take on more work with the channel as a result.

"The Duchess was a real hit with ITV bosses on Loose Women, everyone thought she was a natural," a source was quoted as saying at the time. "There is an open invitation for her to return to Loose Women and there is also talk of her doing a guest slot on This Morning or a mini-series for them."

A mini-series never materialised and amid the ongoing scrutiny surrounding Sarah and Prince Andrew due to their links with Jeffrey Epstein, further ITV projects are no longer on the cards, nor would she likely be welcomed back by her former Loose Women co-stars.

Panellist Jane Moore described Sarah’s "shameless grovelling to a deeply nasty man" as not a "forgiveable human frailty" but a display of "craven greed and rampant self-preservation that, worst of all, betrays Epstein’s many victims".

These remarks came in the wake of the publication of a 2011 email to Epstein in which she referred to him as a "supreme friend". A spokesperson for Fergie has stated that the email was sent in the "context of advice" to try and "assuage Epstein and his threats".

Aside from Sarah’s career looking bleak, her living arrangements are also fragile. While she currently resides at Royal Lodge with Prince Andrew, the pair have come under a huge amount of pressure to find other accommodation and have, just this week, finally agreed to leave - with reports suggesting they want two properties in return. One for him and one for her.

Their want to stay at Royal Lodge has caused huge unrest with questions over why they are there and need such a large property. Recent column inches have been full of details about how William has had to step in, amid fears they pose a real threat to the future of the monarchy.

With charities calling time on their relationship, television companies re-thinking their position and a book deal hanging in the balance - Sarah Ferguson is arguably facing a very difficult time.

He wrote, as per The Mirror, "When the men were out stalking, the ladies would meet them on the hills for a picnic lunch. A page would enquire in advance what people wanted to eat and compile a list."

"On one occasion, Fergie sent one member of staff into a rage having failed to comply with his request," the butler claimed. "In a voice heard by all the ladies assembled, including the Queen, he boomed, 'What does that red-haired mare want for lunch?'"

Paul continued, "It was accepted with silence as if it was never said. No reprimand. The staff had formed their opinion based on gossip and her behavior."

As well as including this startling allegation, Paul Burrell also supposedly delved into how Fergie was often compared to her late sister-in-law Princess Diana.

Comparison isn't unusual for members of the Royal Family. As woman&home's Royal Editor Emma Shacklock explains, "It wasn't just Fergie who was compared to Princess Diana, but Princess Anne and Duchess Sophie too."

"The comparisons nowadays are often between the Princess of Wales and Duchess of Sussex, and I imagine it's so challenging for them all to deal with when they just want to be recognised as their own person," she adds. "Someone always comes out more favorably in these instances and it must be hard."

Even though both Sarah and Diana were young and often in the press for modernizing the Royal Family at the time, the former royal butler alleges that feeling of goodwill didn’t always translate to the staff at the palaces.

He explained, "Fergie was twenty-six and like a bouncy, uncontrollable red setter puppy. She was not as popular or as well received downstairs as Diana had been. Fergie may have been a breath of fresh air for the Royals but the staff preferred the gentleness of the established Princess of Wales whom they had known for almost five years."

According to him, "newcomer" Fergie had to "earn the trust of the staff". Paul reportedly dubbed her "far too familiar for her own good" but conceded that "the staff could be snobs at times".

Christmas at Sandringham House takes a lot of planning, especially given how many royals gather for the festivities. The King hosts most of the family there but it’s already been suggested that there are two royals who we likely won’t see this December.

As reported by The Sunday Times, His Majesty has reportedly "signalled" that Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, would not be welcome to join him for Christmas. A source close to the King claimed to the publication that Andrew and Sarah choosing not to go would save the King from making "more difficult decisions".

"You can’t sack someone from being your brother. But this year, if the Duke and Duchess were both to be as honourable [as last year, when they didn’t attend], it would be very much for the best and the family would not be disappointed, not least to avoid the King having to make any more difficult decisions," they alleged.

These reports come in the wake of the latest scandal to embroil the Yorks - the publication of a 2011 email from the Duchess to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Sarah’s spokesperson told The Telegraph that it was sent in the "context of advice" after Epstein allegedly threatened to sue her over comments made about him.

Multiple charities have cut ties with Prince Andrew’s former wife since the email became public and only a few months earlier a shocking joint biography of the Yorks was released, which once again put them front and centre of negative headlines.

A friend of the King claimed to The Sunday Times that whilst the monarch is "not of the mind to banish someone" from worshipping at church or attending family occasions "he would hope they would find a more discreet way of attending these events". Instead, the source adds that in Andrew’s case "he seems to relish the prospect of not being low-key about it".

Prince Andrew and Sarah were very prominent at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral in September and King Charles supposedly wishes they’d be "invisible" going forwards. All of this would make their absence from Christmas at Sandringham make sense.

However, if they don’t go to Norfolk, what could this mean for their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Eugenie? Last year Beatrice celebrated with the royals and Eugenie with her in-laws whilst Andrew and Fergie spent Christmas in Windsor and kept a low profile amid news about the Duke’s association with an alleged Chinese spy.

It’s possible that after everything, Andrew and Sarah won’t be attending a royal Christmas for a very long time to come. In that case, it’s surely unthinkable that Beatrice and Eugenie will always spend the festivities separately from their parents but their decision this year a few months after the email scandal will be all-important.

Whether they stay away from Sandringham and celebrate with their parents instead or do the opposite, it could be seen as sending a message, intentionally or not. Royal author Phil Dampier has claimed to the Daily Mail that Beatrice and Eugenie are in a "very difficult" position if Sarah and Andrew either choose not to go, or aren’t invited.

"They may feel it would be unfair of them to go when their parents aren’t there and it simply rubs salt in their wounds," he said. 'The King has a soft spot for both Beatrice and Eugenie and feels sorry for the situation they are in. So it’s a real dilemma for him and one he could do without."

Just days ago we saw the Duchess of York joining her former husband Prince Andrew and many more members of the Royal Family at the funeral service for the Duchess of Kent. Sarah Ferguson, often known as Fergie, hadn’t been glimpsed at any royal occasions for quite some time prior to King Charles becoming monarch.

This had started to shift in recent years, with her being invited to spend Christmas at Sandringham House in 2024 and attending the Easter service in April. It looked like she was making quite the royal comeback, but the recent publication of an email between the Duchess and the late Jeffrey Epstein has embroiled her once again in a PR disaster.

Sarah referred to Epstein as a "supreme friend" in the email sent 2011 and in the wake of its release, several charities have cut ties with her, including The Teenage Cancer Trust who she’d been associated with for 35 years. Now royal commentator Dickie Arbiter has suggested she "might not survive" the scandal.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Dickie, who previously worked as Queen Elizabeth’s Press Secretary, said that it will be "very difficult" for the Duchess to return to the royal fold.

"I’m not sure she’s going to survive this one because mud does stick," he declared. "It’s one thing to have financial problems, quite something else to be associated with a convicted paedophile."

Dickie described it as a "very, very difficult one" and suggested that this "is in a completely different league" to PR disasters Sarah has faced in the past. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams agreed, adding, "It’s deeply embarrassing for the Royal Family".

A spokesperson for the Duchess of York told The Telegraph that the 2011 email was sent in the "context of advice" following alleged "threats" from Epstein regarding legal action. Weeks before she sent the email she’d publicly condemned him and said it was a “massive error of judgment” to have dealings with him.

"The Duchess spoke of her regret about her association with Epstein many years ago, and as they have always been, her first thoughts are with his victims," they stated. "Like many people, she was taken in by his lies. As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia."

They continued, "She does not resile from anything she said then. This email was sent in the context of advice the Duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats."

Despite this explanation many charities have parted ways with the Duchess of York, including children’s hospice Julia’s House, The Teenage Cancer Trust, Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, Children’s Literacy Charity and Prevent Breast Cancer.

According to her friend Lizzie Cundy, the loss of these charities has hit Fergie hard. As per The Mirror, she recently appeared on the Jeremy Vine Show and revealed that the Duchess is “devastated”.

"Sarah is absolutely devastated about losing the charities," Lizzie reportedly also divulged. "Especially the cancer one, she herself had a cancer diagnosis recently. She's absolutely devastated. She's a human being, a mother, she's going through hell."

This latest scandal continues to attract huge attention and, as Dickie said, it could be “very difficult” for the Duchess of York to return the Royal Family’s trusted inner circle amid all this renewed scrutiny.

The Princess of Wales's 'family unity' following her cancer diagnosis earlier this year has been dubbed 'extraordinary' by Sarah Ferguson, who has applauded Kate for her 'bravery'. 

Back in March, the Princess of Wales took to social media to share a poignant video, following her absence from the royal spotlight. 

In the moving footage, Kate was heard sharing that she had been diagnosed with cancer after she underwent "planned" abdominal surgery back in January and she confirmed that she had started a course of "preventative chemotherapy" treatment.  

Having taken a step back from royal work to focus on her recovery, Kate hasn't been seen out on an official basis since Christmas Day 2023 and it's believed that she is focussing on her recuperation and spending time with family at Adelaide Cottage. 

Now, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has opened up on how incredible the support of family has been for Kate during the tough time and shared her pride over the future Queen's bravery. 

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on June 5th, Prince Andrew's former wife spoke to hosts Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis about the Princess of Wales's decision to share her announcement video. 

"Lovely Princess Catherine doing the video was so brave," Sarah, who has faced her own breast and skin cancer battles, said. 

Pointing out how pivotal the love from Prince William and Wales children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, as well as the Middletons and the royals has been for Catherine, she continued, "I think family unity is an extraordinary thing and I'm honestly just so proud and I just send them lots of love and lots of support."

Sarah went on to touch on King Charles, who is facing his own cancer battle after a diagnosis earlier this year, and the work he has been doing to support other people with cancer. 

"I am so, so proud of the King going to Cancer Research UK, and becoming the royal patron and going out there and talking to all these people," she said. 

"It gives everybody that wonderful feeling that they are being listened to, and I thought that was very brave of him to do that."

Sarah Ferguson has revealed she's been diagnosed with "malignant melanoma" as she praised the "great vigilance" of her dermatologist.

The Duchess of York has taken to social media to urge people to be "diligent" as she revealed she’s received her second cancer diagnosis "within a year". The King’s former sister-in-law explained that she’s been diagnosed with a “malignant melanoma” and is now "resting" at home. The Duchess shared a picture of herself in what appears to be Austria as she praised her dermatologist for their “vigilance” in detecting the melanoma when they did.

"I have been taking some time to myself as I have been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer, my second cancer diagnosis within a year after I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer and underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery," Sarah wrote in her caption.

"It was thanks to the great vigilance of my dermatologist that the melanoma was detected when it was," she continued.

The Duchess of York stated how, "naturally", another cancer diagnosis had come as a “shock” to her. However, she confirmed that despite this she is in "good spirits" and expressed her gratitude for the "many messages of love and support she’d received".

She continued, "I believe my experience underlines the importance of checking the size, shape, colour and texture and emergence of new moles that can be a sign of melanoma and urge anyone who is reading this to be diligent."

Sarah thanked the medical teams that supported her through her "experiences with cancer", as well as the MAYRLIFE Clinic in Austria for taking "gentle care" of her in the "past weeks".

Their care allowed her "time for recuperation", though the Duchess revealed that she is now back with her family resting at home and feeling "blessed to have their love and support". Her spokesperson also confirmed, as per the BBC, that Sarah’s dermatologist requested for "several moles" to be removed and analysed when she was undergoing reconstructive surgery. 

They added that "one of these has been identified as cancerous" and that she is "undergoing further investigations” to ensure that the melanoma has been “caught in the early stages".

The Duchess of York’s poignant message came after it was announced she had undergone a mastectomy in the summer of 2023 after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, she has been very open about her experience and how important it is to attend regular screenings. 

On her and Sarah Thomson’s podcast, Tea Talks, Sarah explained that it was her sister Jane who persuaded her to attend the screening which led to her diagnosis. Sarah also appeared on ITV’s Loose Women in November last year to launch its "Don’t Skip Your Screening" campaign. 

"I caught it so early, just in time,'" she declared. "The real thing is, it's that terrible fear of ‘Oh no, it won't happen to me’... and that's why I want to shout about it. I wouldn't be sitting here if I hadn't have gone."

Sarah Ferguson’s social media post came a few days after the Royal Family shared medical updates for King Charles and the Princess of Wales respectively. His Majesty will receive treatment for a benign prostate condition this week and the Princess of Wales has undergone "planned" abdominal surgery and is currently recovering in hospital.

Reclining on a bed, Sarah complemented her signature fiery red locks with a shirt and trousers co-ord look in a matching shade of wasabi green.

From her dazzling all-white outfit when attending her third annual Christmas Carols concert to the stunning all-blue outfit for the 2023 Christmas Sandringham walkabout, it would seem that playing with different shades of one colour might be a dominating trend in 2024.  

It wasn’t just her luxurious outfit which captured fans attention, though. In the caption, Sarah made a shock new confession about having a new someone – “Derek” by her side… but it’s not *quite* as it sounds.

Sharing a heartfelt message with her latest snap, Fergie’s caption read, “2023 hasn’t been without its ups and downs, trials, lessons, laughter, miracles and joy.”

Exploring some of her personal and professional moments of the year, Sarah touched on her breast cancer diagnosis.

“I made the Sunday Times Top 5 Bestseller list for… A Most Intriguing Lady! I was diagnosed with breast cancer and now I have got a Derek on my left.”

Yep, while some fans have flooded to her comments confused about their confession about “Derek”, it would appear Sarah is referring to the aftermath of her breast cancer surgery earlier in the year – and we love that she’s kept her well-known sense of humour about it all.

The Duchess of York has a reason to embrace the bright and bold vibes going into the New Year – after overcoming some tough times to end 2023 on a positive note.

She was invited to join her daughters – Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie – and the rest of the Royal Family for her first Sandringham walkabout in over 30 years.

After divorcing Prince Andrew and facing some tabloid scandals, Sarah’s re-acceptance into the royal fold has been hailed as a sign of the “forgiving” King Charles offering an olive branch for her years of loyalty to the family, despite everything.

It was well-known that Fergie continued to praise the royals over the years, and even enjoyed a special bond with the late Queen Elizabeth. So much so that she was chosen to inherit the Queen’s beloved Corgis upon her death.

A source at the time told The Telegraph that Fergie and the Queen had maintained their special bond prior to the monarch’s death. They said, “The Duchess bonded with Her Majesty over dog walking and riding horses and, even after her divorce, she would continue her great friendship with Her Majesty, by walking the dogs in Frogmore and chatting.”

The Royal Family are known for their traditions – and sometimes they’ve been accused of being out of touch or unrelatable with how closely they stick to rules, regulations, and protocol.

From their incredibly old-fashioned Christmas dinner to their “Christmas free for all” on Christmas Eve as a nod to their German heritage, they tend to stick with what’s come before.

However, slowly but surely under King Charles – who delivered a history-making second Christmas speech as monarch on Christmas Day – things are starting to change.

And this was never more explicit than with the families second Christmas under his reign – and the guests who received an invite from His Majesty.

For the first time in 32 years, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, joined her family for Sandringham walkabout.

Joining the likes of the Princess of Wales in her stunning all-blue outfit, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Princess Anne, Sarah beamed as she greeted well-wishers and walked with her daughters and their partners. 

For her triumphant return to the inner circle of the Royal Family, Sarah, understandably, might have been feeling a touch nervous which is why her choice of outfit was very telling.

Dressed in a gorgeous green ensemble, which included a quirky peacock feather style headpiece, Sarah’s choice of colour has a sentimental and empowering connection for her – having worn it to the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

She told the Daily Mail at the time, “Mum had carried the handbag at my wedding to Prince Andrew and the admission tickets were still in it. They were green - which was why I wore green on the day.”

The walkabout on the royal estate is a hallowed tradition for fans of the royals, who flock to the Norfolk estate to chat with and greet the royals as they attend a church service at the Church of St Mary Magdalene.

The walkabout and church service is often considered something of a litmus test for who is really “in” with the family.

Charles’s seasonal goodwill to invite the Duchess of York back into the fold, getting to walk alongside her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, and their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie is a step away from the stricter rules which originally saw her ousted back in the 1990s, with her last walkabout taking place in 1991.  

Sarah was married to Prince Andrew from 1986 until 1996, but a dissolution in her marriage to the Duke of York and subsequent controversies including a front-page scandal with John Bryan saw her essentially shut out from the likes of Prince Philip and the late Queen.

Though the late Queen Elizabeth II reportedly thought of her former daughter-in-law fondly – with Fergie inheriting her surviving corgis - she was never included in things like the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, or invited back for Christmas.

Charles’s gesture, according to one expert, was for one sweet reason.

Robert Hardman, author of Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, told the BBC the monarch wanted to show his affection for the Duke and Duchess of York's daughters.

“Life moves on. I think it's a sort of readjustment. You had the king in his (Christmas Day) speech talking about compassion. Fergie was out in the cold, if you like, really ever since the breakdown of her marriage back in the mid-90s. And there she was yesterday.”

“She's always been really close to her ex-husband, but particularly, I think, the king is very fond of his nieces, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. This is a way of showing that.”

Another huge name royal could make the somewhat unconventional choice to take part in a reality TV competition, sources have alleged.

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York is said to be a top choice for the upcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother – and she could earn a huge paycheque to guarantee a spot on the show.

Celebrity Big Brother bosses are reportedly prepared to offer the Duchess of York an impressive £500,000 to appear on the series.

If Sarah was to take part, bosses would be hoping she’d be a huge draw – what with her famed connection to the late Queen Elizabeth II (even being given Her Majesty’s beloved dogs!) and, of course, her marriage to Prince Andrew.

Sarah has stood by her ex-husband amid his well-publicised controversies which saw him stripped of all titles and has shared her belief that he deserves to rebuild his life.

It would also be a great reversal of fortune for the Duchess, whose 2023 included a breast cancer diagnosis and double mastectomy.

A source told The Mirror: "Sarah would be a brilliant signing for Celebrity Big Brother. She is very smart, engaging and funny. Not to mention the millions of viewers she would pull in if she began talking to housemates about the Royal Family and Prince Andrew. 

"Sarah has never considered reality formats in the past but ITV bosses are hoping their offer might change that position. Signing her would be a massive coup. That’s why they are digging deep for the offer they plan to make her."

If the Duchess of York was to take part, she’d join a short list of royals who have taken part in reality TV.

Mike Tindall – Princess Anne’s son-in-law – took part in the 2022 series of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!  where he revealed many surprising royal tidbits, including debunking a common misconception about marrying into the family.

His Majesty King Charles also made a surprise appearance on BBC’s The Repair Shop in 2021. Appearing on the special programme, the then Prince of Wales tasked Jay Blades, Steve Fletcher, Will Kirk and Kirsten Ramsay to repair a handful of antiques from Dumfries House.

It is thought Sarah impressed bosses with her stint on This Morning back in November.

The Duchess of York made her first appearance on the ITV show on Monday (November 20), sharing presenting duties alongside Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

In addition to presenting the show, she also became the show's editor, choosing the stories to be discussed.

As the titles finished, Sarah joined the hosts who took the reins of the show immediately, “Hello and welcome to Monday's This Morning, and a very warm welcome to our guest editor and co-host Sarah!”

Alison asked Sarah how she was doing, to which she responded, “Terrified!”

However, her performance didn’t show any sign of nerves. While some were divided about her appearance on the show, a majority of the comments online were heaping praise on the Duchess-turned-successful-author.

Sarah was described as a “breath of fresh air” by one viewer, and another agreed, posting to X (formerly Twitter), “Such a shame it's one day only! The Duchess of York is fantastic on This Morning.”

“Absolutely brilliant. I really enjoyed this show and most of all The Duchess of York. Great guest editor,” added yet another.

As we consider Christmas party outfit ideas, many of us might not be so keen to pair our favourite festive frocks with a pair of stand-out heels. For those who favour the best comfortable shoes but don’t want to compromise on glamour, there’s a sensational festive shoe trend that offers the perfect alternative to heels. Stepping out on the exact same night at different events in London, both Sarah Ferguson - mother of Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice - and Hollywood icon Julia Roberts both showcased sparkly flats at their best.

Sarah, Duchess of York attended The Anti Slavery Collective's inaugural Winter Gala at Battersea Arts Centre wearing a chic black ankle-length dress with a cold-shoulder detail. The simple outfit was made that bit more festive and special with her choice of shoes - a pair of trainers in a gorgeous silver glitter colourway that were reportedly from Gucci.

Although seriously sparkly, the trainers added a fun element without being too much and the simple elegance of her dress balanced their boldness perfectly.

Just visible underneath her dress in photos, we couldn’t help noticing that Sarah’s sparkly shoes had a similar striking effect as those of Julia Roberts. The actor also stepped out on 29th November in London as she attended a special screening of “Leave The World Behind”.

Just like Sarah, Julia showcased the glam festive shoe trend in the form of a pair of Gucci shoes. Hers were, if anything, even more stand-out as she chose to wear them with a pastel pink blazer and shorts set which meant they were easily seen. 

Julia’s silver glitter shoes were low wedges rather than trainers, but this design was still likely a little more comfortable and easy to walk in than the stilettos we often see paired with occasion wear outfits this time of year. The pump design would also look fabulous in a glitter or metallic finish without the wedge and she’s delivered some serious inspiration with this fabulous look.

This festive shoe trend is something that Sarah and Julia are both on board with and whilst it might look quite daring, it’s a great way to add sparkle to an outfit in a very wearable way. Metallic or sparkly flats can easily be dressed up with a stunning dress or two-piece and look especially beautiful if the rest of the outfit is relatively plain. 

However, if you’d prefer to keep to your favourite comfortable jeans and a Christmas jumper this festive season then flats in metallic shades or with glitter finishes work just as well. They add a special touch to a look whilst keeping the comfort factor that you aren’t guaranteed to get with high heels. This festive shoe trend is also something that would work all year round for different special occasions or just to jazz up a very neutral outfit. 

Christmas is fast approaching, and there is one person that King Charles would be 'heartless' not to invite to the royal Sandringham festivities, as this person is a rather 'vibrant addition,' according to royal expert Jennie Bond. 

The holiday season is a time for gathering with friends and family, and this also applies to the royal family. Every year, the royals, including King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, and the rest of the gang, gather at Sandringham to join in some yuletide fun - although, not all royals are invited every year. 

Royal expert Jennie Bond spoke exclusively to woman&home about the royals Christmas traditions for 2023, and she mentioned there's one guest that is quite the "vibrant addition" to the bunch, adding that King Charles would be "heartless" not to invite them.

Firstly, Jennie said that some royal fans could be surprised by Prince Andrew's attendance at Christmas, but added that he will be invited to join in the family celebrations.

"Eyebrows might be raised that Prince Andrew is included, but he has consistently been invited to family gatherings like this, in spite of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal," she said. 

Additionally, she noted that Sarah Ferguson is a guest that King Charles would be "churlish" to not invite, adding that it would be cruel to separate her from daughter Eugenie and Beatrice and their children at Christmas. 

"And it would be churlish to exclude his ex-wife and “bestest friend” Sarah, especially when she is still recovering from breast cancer," she mentioned. "Besides which, Sarah is good fun; a vibrant addition to any party, and it would be heartless to separate her from her daughters and grandchildren at Christmas."

King Charles also just made it quite clear that he is hoping for a "leaner" group of royals this year, according to Jennie - but the usual suspects will all be involved. 

"The family will gather again at Sandringham. The King has made it clear that although he wants a leaner core group of working royals, the extended family will always be welcome under his roof," she said. "And that’s why his siblings and their families, his nephews and nieces, along with Camilla’s children and grandchildren, will all be invited to share a right royal Christmas."

Members of the family who likely won't be in attendance, though, is Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie and Lilibet, which, no doubt, fills King Charles with "sadness".

"The elephant in the room…or rather, very much not in the room — will of course be Prince Harry and his family. And that will remain a great sadness for the King, who loves his son, in spite of all that has happened," she said. 

Sarah Ferguson is set to make a major TV appearance to help launch a new campaign and it will mean discussing something incredibly personal.

The late Queen Elizabeth might never have given a press interview during her reign but plenty of other Royal Family members are no strangers to making appearances on various types of media. From the Prince and Princess of Wales joining Dame Mary Berry on A Very Berry Christmas, to Queen Camilla’s British Vogue interview, it’s always exciting when a royal appears like this. 

Now Sarah Ferguson is set to make a major TV debut as a panellist on hit ITV show, Loose Women. King Charles’ former sister-in-law has previously appeared on Loose Women in April and on 2nd November she’ll be joining Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan and Brenda Edwards to help launch a campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer. 

The Duchess of York is reportedly set to discuss her own experience and journey after being diagnosed with breast cancer over the summer. The new campaign, Don’t Skip Your Screening, will highlight how important it is to attend routine mammogram appointments and this is something likely very close to Sarah’s heart.

Sarah previously revealed on her podcast, Tea Talks, that it was her sister Jane who persuaded her to attend a routine mammogram. It was this which led to her diagnosis and the Duchess thanked Jane for urging her to go for the mammogram and credited this as being “something which saved [her] life”. 

She later underwent a single mastectomy and when Sarah’s diagnosis was made public, a spokesperson for the Duchess of York expressed how important the royal believes “regular screening” to be.

“The Duchess wants to express her immense gratitude to all the medical staff who have supported her in recent days,” it declared, before adding, “She is also hugely thankful to the staff involved in the mammogram which identified her illness, which was otherwise symptom-free, and believes her experience underlines the importance of regular screening.”

Since then the Duchess of York has shared personal details about her experience several times and her Loose Women appearance will mark the first time she’s done so on television. As per The Mirror, ahead of the episode airing, Sarah spoke of her pride at supporting the campaign and reiterated how her experience shows that screening could save lives.

"I am proud to be supporting the campaign by Loose Women, backed by NHS England, to persuade women to catch up on missed appointments and to turn up when they are called in. Don't skip your screening - it could save your life as it did mine,” she declared.

The Duchess of York will join Loose Women on Thursday, 2nd November  from 12:30pm on ITV and ITVX.

Sarah Ferguson's appearance in Friends was an iconic moment where pop culture and the Royal Family merged for a brief moment.

Sarah Ferguson made a surprise appearance in the 1998 episode of Friends titled The One with Ross's Wedding. The show was typically set in New York City but took a trip across the pond for Ross Geller's wedding to his English fiancée. 

But do you know why the Duchess agreed to appeared in the show? Apparently, it's all down to a certain royal duo.

It was revealed that while the Duchess of York wasn't a fan of the show, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were big fans and insisted that their mother grabbed this opportunity to appear in the show. 

Per the Daily Mail, Kelsey Miller revealed in her book I'll Be There for You: The One About Friends that her daughters were reportedly fans of the show and loved the idea of their mother being involved.

In the episode, the Duchess of York interacted with Matt Le Blanc's character  Joey Tribbiani who was wearing a Union flag top hat that he brought from a stall manned by Richard Branson - who also made a cameo in the episode. Chandler mocks Joey's hat and later in the episode, Joey showed him a video of the Duchess of York saying she liked it. "Hi Chandler, Joey says you don't really like his hat, but I think it's kind of dashing," she says on the video camera recording. Monica and Chandler are shocked and Joey exclaims, 'It's Fergie baby!' 

According to Comedy Central, the Duchess practised her lines with Matt LeBlance before filming and Matthew Perry, who wasn't in the scene, stood nearby to offer assistance. 

The Duchess is among the many people who worked with Matthew Perry to release a statement following the news of his passing.

In a post on Instagram, Sarah paid tribute to the late actor. "I remember being thrilled to have met a natural talent, comedian and brilliant actor. It is a tragedy to lose you so early in life, rest in peace dear Matthew … you have given so much joy and laughter to so many," read the heartfelt caption.

Princess Beatrice’s “magical” birthday outfit accessory has been revealed - and it’s apparently a favourite with her family too!

Princess Beatrice celebrated her 35th birthday on 8th August and exciting details have now been shared about how she spent this special occasion - and, just as importantly, what she wore. Speaking on her Tea Talks podcast with co-host Sarah Thomson, the Duchess of York had previously teased that she’d been spending time blowing up balloons for her daughter’s birthday. This could suggest that it was spent at her Royal Lodge home in Windsor and in the latest episode Sarah Ferguson went into a little more detail about the day. 

The Duchess explained that Princess Beatrice’s “magical” birthday outfit accessory was something they’d both worn that day. And they apparently weren’t the only ones as the occasion featured a very cute “fairytale hunt” for the Princess’ daughter Sienna Mapelli Mozzi. 

“I hid many different fairies in the garden and I sent Sienna on a fairytale hunt to find the fairies - with wings on,” Sarah declared, before adding, “She lasted with the wings on for quite a while before Beatrice and I put the wings on.”

So it seems that over whatever special outfit Princess Beatrice chose to wear on her birthday she placed a pair of fairy wings - at least for some of the day. Since Sienna appears to be a fairy fan, she might well have been delighted to see her doting mum put them on after she’d tired of them - apparently before her grandmother also had a go at wearing them. 

Sarah then went on to explain that “once she’d found all the fairies”, they all had a “fairy picnic”. She described this as a “magical day for Beatrice’s birthday”. 

This was Princess Beatrice’s second birthday since becoming a mum and it’s heart-warming that she embraced her daughter’s interests so much into her big day - not to mention her accessories choice!

Ahead of her birthday, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi had been away and Sienna had been staying with Sarah at the Royal Lodge. On her podcast Sarah had previously revealed Sienna’s “favourite thing ever” and how she’d enjoyed playing in Windsor Great Park during this time. 

Sienna will celebrate her own birthday next month when she turns 2 on 18th September. If her interest in fairies persists until then it’s possible Princess Beatrice’s “magical” birthday outfit accessory could be worn again here.

The young royal has yet to make her public debut and the last time fans saw Princess Beatrice at a public occasion was Wimbledon in July. As a non-working royal this might not be considered surprising as she doesn’t undertake official engagements. It’s not known when she could next be seen in public with the Royal Family, though it could potentially be in the run-up to Christmas as she’s attended the Princess of Wales’ carol concert in previous years with Edoardo. 

Princess Beatrice’s daughter Sienna’s “favourite thing ever” is apparently all down to “force of nature” King Charles.

Sienna Mapelli Mozzi will turn two in September and whilst she’s yet to make her public debut with the rest of the immediate and extended Royal Family, her proud grandmother Sarah Ferguson has been sharing some enlightening insights about her. Speaking on her Tea Talks podcast with co-host Sarah Thomson, the Duchess of York explained that Princess Beatrice’s daughter had been thoroughly enjoying a new experience at Windsor Great Park by Windsor Castle. It’s apparently become Sienna’s “favourite thing ever” and it’s all down to King Charles - as Sarah soon reminded him in a special message.

The Adventure Play experience opened in July and as per the Crown Estate it was created using “sustainably-sourced wood” from the Windsor Estate. According to the Duchess, Sienna’s nanny took her there during her time staying with Sarah at the Royal Lodge whilst Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were away recently.

The nanny later told Sarah how much fun the almost two-year-old had, all without knowing that King Charles had reportedly wanted this project to come about.

“I remember, would you believe, that the King’s wish, one of his wishes a long time ago when he was the Prince of Wales, he always wished that somebody would build a wooden [playground] - all wooden, all sustainable, all natural, everything perfect for young people to understand how important the climate is and nature,” the Duchess of York claimed. 

Sarah then explained that she’d written to His Majesty with special photos of Sienna playing there and shared how much it meant to see her granddaughter enjoying his “vision”.

“I took some pictures, had them made up into a card and wrote to the King and I said,  ‘Your vision was the greatest success ever and it was Sienna’s favourite thing ever and I just want you to know that’,” she explained. 

The Duchess then remarked upon how important it was to see Sienna going out into the world and showing that her great-uncle was “on the right track” with his focus on sustainability, environmental education and conservation. 

“All his climate change talk, all his vision, all his wishes and now it’s all coming to fruition,” she said. “People are beginning to realise what an incredible force he’s been - a force of nature, to fight for nature. I thought that was an extraordinary, circular moment of a man’s wish to a two-year-old’s dream.”

Although it’s not known if King Charles has met Sienna yet it’s definitely possible she’s spent some time with him at private family gatherings. The King and Queen are currently enjoying their summer break in Scotland and many of their nearest and dearest are expected to visit. It’s possible that Princess Beatrice, Edoardo and Sienna could be amongst them.  

Princess Beatrice’s daughter Sienna has apparently established a hilarious role in the family - and she takes after someone pretty special.

As the Royal Family begins their summer break, many of the senior royals who are usually out and about undertaking public engagements are currently enjoying time away from the royal spotlight. This includes King Charles and Queen Camilla who are said to be at the Castle of Mey, with reported plans to base themselves at Birkhall and Balmoral Castle later on. Their fellow royals are expected to join them and it’s possible Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and their almost-two-year-old daughter Sienna will be amongst them.

Fans haven't seen Sienna in public yet and likely won’t this summer either, due to the private nature of the royals’ Scottish holiday. But it seems she’s established a hilarious role in her family with personality traits quite like someone we see often...

Earlier this year Sienna’s grandmother Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York started co-hosting a new podcast, Tea Talks, with Sarah Thomson. And she recently opened up about Sienna coming to stay with her at the Royal Lodge in Windsor whilst Princess Beatrice and Edoardo were away. 

"She's the controller of granny and grandpa right now, I can safely tell you that,” Sarah laughingly revealed, as per Hello!. “When I'm following her, she looks just like Beatrice."

The Duchess went on to remark that Princess Beatrice’s star sign is Leo - which is one of the fire signs associated with personality traits like courage and creativity. Although Sienna is a Virgo, Sarah suggested her granddaughter has established herself as a similarly bold royal.

It seems she isn’t afraid to do what she wants to do as the adorable “controller” of her grandparents with them following after her. She’s seemingly just like Princess Beatrice was as a child and it’s so special that Princess Beatrice's daughter Sienna takes after her so much!

Sarah explained, "She does the same thing as Beatrice. Beatrice is a Leo and it's taken me right the way back to following Beatrice around, literally mini-me. Off she goes, hunting for ducks and walking through puddles, the rain on her head, and then sings 'Raindrops keep falling on my head…plop'.”

“Well, I sing the first bit and then she goes 'Plop', the adoring grandmother added. “So we've had an extraordinary time, I'm very glad Beatrice and Edo got some time alone too."

It appears as though Sienna is fond of exploring the great outdoors and forging her own path, with her family following her and having an “extraordinary time” as they do. Whilst fans haven’t yet seen Sienna with the Royal Family in public, Princess Eugenie shared a photo of her niece and son August at the zoo earlier this year.

She looked to be transfixed by the penguins on a day out and this ties in with Sarah’s comments about Sienna’s curious and confident personality. It’s not known when she might make her royal debut but some fans might be hoping for more anecdotes about her very soon.

Sarah Ferguson (aka Fergie) recently revealed four etiquette tricks that she swears by for royal engagements and parties - and Fergie really is one of the most hilarious people ever. 

Although we can't quite relate to needing etiquette advice for royal engagements, it stands to show that a little brush-up on manners every so often isn't a horrible idea - and that's exactly what Sarah Ferguson (Fergie) did on her podcast last week. 

Her podcast Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah, on which Fergie and her co-host Sarah Thomson discuss a wide range of topics, recently divulged into party etiquette, and Fergie had a few tips on how to expertly navigate parties based on her experiences from royal events of yore with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, as well as her daughters Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.

Here are four of Fergie's best tips on how to not only survive, but thrive, at parties. 

1. Express politely you've been waiting to meet with someone

Fergie says that the best thing to do when caught in a conversation you no longer wish to be in, for whatever reason, is to blame it on someone else. "You get to a point when you say, ‘One second, could you hold that thought because I’ve just got to go and see Fred over there because I’ve got to give him a message,'" she said. "And by the time that the person you’re talking to has gone onto the next subject, they’ve forgotten that you were coming back to tell something about Fred."

2. Swerve the uncomfortable questions to someone else

We've all unfortunately been there - that awkward moment when someone asks you a question that you just don't have the energy to answer, whether it be about politics, your family, your relationship, or whatever is ailing you.

The best thing to do, Fergie says, is to give the question to someone else to answer. "If someone asks you a tricky question that you don’t want to answer, say ‘Oh that’s so interesting, I’ll tell you what, I’m going to throw that question to Matilda. Matilda, what do you think about that question?’ And you’ve thrown the ball again," she cheekily said.

3. Attend multiple parties with a quick force for ultimate impact

AKA - arrive at each party "very loudly," Fergie said. 

"What you do is you walk through the door, go in very loudly and walk all the way around the room. And you’ll be so loud that most people are going, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s so loud,'" she explained. "Then you leave after five minutes, and so the host and everyone will say, 'Oh, I didn’t see Sarah tonight.’ And everyone in the room says, 'Oh, well we did.'"

4. Smile!

When you're not feeling your best or on your A-game, smiling will help get you through, Fergie claimed. 

"I always say to my girls, when you’re out on the public stage, smile. If you don’t want to be polite, don’t go out on the public stage — because no one wants to see a grumpy princess," she said.

Royals engage in all sorts of social activity, day after day. So it’s no surprise they’ve picked up some clever tricks for avoiding uncomfortable questions or learning how to properly get away with leaving a party early without offending anyone.

And, thanks to the Duchess of York, we get to share in some of the knowledge too.

Sarah Ferguson recently shared these royal approved tricks and tips for exiting a conversation on the latest episode of her podcast, Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah.

While chatting with co-host Sarah Thomson, the Duchess – who is recovering from breast cancer surgery - was asked how she and her fellow royals politely excused themselves from a party.

Sarah explained, “Well, it depends which country you’re in. There’s all different cultures which you must always be aware of, and I love that.”

“If you’re in British Downton Abbey, you get to a point when you say: ‘One second, could you hold that thought because I’ve just got to go and see Fred over there because I’ve got to give him a message.’ And by the time that the person you’re talking to has gone onto the next subject, they’ve forgotten that you were coming back to tell something about Fred.”

The Duchess’ next tip was particularly intriguing, and we have no doubts she’s sharing it from vast experience too, as it involves dodging questions you’d prefer not to answer.

When asked how to swerve a particularly unwelcome question, Sarah explained, “If someone asks you a tricky question that you don’t want to answer, say: ‘Oh that’s so interesting, I’ll tell you what, I’m going to throw that question to Matilda. Matilda, what do you think about that question?’”

A third and final bit of insight is one which can definitely come in handy when you over-book yourself.

If you know you’ve got other engagements, how do you make your hosts or other guests feel like you have been at the party for a decent amount of time?

Sarah’s royal lessons suggest you just make sure you’re extra “loud” when you’re actually there.

She explains, “If you’re really busy and you have three parties a night and don’t know how you’re going to manage, you walk through the door very loudly and walk all the way around the room.”

“And you’re so loud, then you leave after five minutes so everyone will say: ‘Oh, I didn’t see Sarah tonight,’ and everyone in the room says: ‘Oh, we did!’”

“The guest thinks you’ve been there all night,” she added.

Clever! And perfect for those nights you want to slip out without seeming rude.

While not a rule per se, Sarah also explained the one rule she passed down to her daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.

“I always say to my girls, when you’re out on the public stage, smile. If you don’t want to be polite, don’t go out on the public stage - because no one wants to see a grumpy princess.”

According to Richard Eden of the Daily Mail, Sarah Ferguson reportedly did not exchange a single word with the Duke of Edinburgh following her divorce from Prince Andrew back in 1996, but remained on close terms with the Queen.

Now, in a new interview with Alan Carr on his podcast, Life’s a Beach, to promote her new book, A Most Intriguing Lady, Fergie has opened up about the late Duke of Edinburgh and how she found him scary at times.

She said, "You had to be on your best. If you asked a silly comment, you certainly were told it was a silly comment. Terrifying. [He'd say] 'Why are you asking me that? I do it everyday, why are you asking me that?' and then you’d lose all your confidence. 'Did you go driving today?' 'Car or horse?' 'Oh, God, sorry. Yes.'" 

She also added that Prince Philip used to say, "You’ve got to be electable but never elected" to which Sarah said, "Nice. Resonates, right?"

Fergie also opened up about her close friendship with Princess Diana, who tragically died in a car accident in Paris back in 1997.

She said, "I miss her humor… there is no other person who makes me laugh more than her, she just was so funny. There is nobody else, and I’ve known her since I was 14, absolutely loved everything about her. 

"When you think about the Queen, I feel very emotional and want to cry. When I think about her, I smile and I laugh because she was so funny, and because she’s with me so she’s not gone, so I don’t miss her… I absolutely love her and she would be so proud of her grandchildren. We’d have a granny-off."

Speaking about how she feels "authentic" since the death of Queen Elizabeth, Sarah has said, "I feel liberated. I don't know whether it's the Queen passing that makes me think I can now openly say what I want to say without worrying I'm going to offend somebody. I'm really, truly authentic Sarah now."

Sarah also recently spoke about her plans for King Charles's coronation ceremony. When asked if she'll be attending the coronation of King Charles, she revealed that invitations haven't been sent yet. "If not, I'll have a cup of tea and a coronation chicken sandwich... and sausage rolls!" she joked.

Speaking fondly of the monarch, she added that she "wishes him well" as he prepares to take his place as the new monarch of England. 

"I've always adored him, all my life," Sarah said. "I believe that he is an extraordinary person."

In a story no one could have seen coming, Sarah Ferguson - who now lives at Royal Lodge - has relived the night of her hen party, revealing it was so wild, she and her close friend Princess Diana ended up being arrested.

Appearing on US talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show to promote her new romance novel, Fergie told the incredible story about her bachelorette party, sharing that she and Princess Diana dressed up as police officers, got kicked out of a club, got arrested, and then stole snacks from the arresting officers. It's almost too crazy to believe. 

Setting the scene for the story, the 63-year-old said she and Diana dressed up as police officers before heading out to a private members club, still in the costumes, to grab a couple of drinks. "It was extraordinary," she said, "We went to a nightclub. Of course we went to a nightclub with the Princess of Wales - then-Princess of Wales - and I was just still Fergie, wasn't married yet, and we went into this nightclub, and she was very good as her costume."

"Anyway, so we sat down, and the waiter came up to us and said, 'Excuse me, this is a members' club, and it's for fun, and we don't serve police officers here,' looking straight at us!" 

Not wishing to cause a scene, the two women got up and left. And it's here that the story gets really wild. 

"And we went out, and as we came out of the - up the stairs, a lady was getting out of a cab, and Diana said, 'She's got my dress on!' and I said, 'Dutch!' - I called her 'Dutch' - I said, 'Dutch! No, no, no, you can't say that, we're meant to be police officers.' It was very funny," she explained.

"Kelly?" Fergie paused for dramatic effect, "We were then arrested!"

"We were arrested by parks police, so we go in the back of the van, and [Diana] had put her engagement ring round the other way, and I'd put mine round the other way, and we were sitting in there like this, and she just looked round and saw smoky bacon-flavoured crisps and started taking them and eating them, and the policeman in the front said, 'You can't do that'!"

So how did the two young royals get themselves out of trouble? "Eventually they [the police] realized that it was just... you know, Diana, and me," Fergie said.

A slight misstep in her story, Fergie (who made an emotional promise to Diana before her death) failed to mention why she and Diana were arrested by parks police, leaving the host, Kelly Clarkson, confused. She asked why the two friends had been arrested, and Fergie answered matter-of-factly, "Oh, because we were impersonating police officers." 

The story prompted Fergie to reflect on her friendship with Diana, who she lovingly called Dutch. She said, "People always say to me 'you must miss Dutch'. And I say no because she's with me all day. She and I, we laughed a lot."

According to Darren McGrady, Diana's former chef, the nickname Dutch was given to Diana in childhood by her family because "when she was younger she always acted like a Duchess," he told HELLO!.

Sarah Ferguson is no stranger to being in the spotlight. As the former wife of Prince Andrew and the current Duchess of York, the royal redhead is used to having her name in the press - even when she didn't necessarily want it there. 

Now, though, Fergie is writing her own narrative with her new novel, A Most Intriguing Lady, which came out Tuesday, March 7. 

In an interview with Good Morning America, Fergie discusses what her new novel is about, as well as what her plans are for King Charles' coronation ceremony. 

"I feel liberated," Sarah initially says. "I don't know whether it's the Queen passing that makes me think I can now openly say what I want to say without worrying I'm going to offend somebody. I'm really, truly authentic Sarah now."

Queen Elizabeth died in early September of 2022, after reigning on the throne for just shy of 71 years. 

She does say later in the interview, however, that after the sexual assault scandals that surrounded her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, she became much closer to the Queen. "She was my idol. She was my legend," she recalls. 

A Most Intriguing Lady, Sarah's second novel, features a plot that is filled with rich royal history, as well as a bit of a "whodunnit" theme. When asked how the novel mirrors her own life, especially the main character, Fergie laughs. "Well the red hair certainly helps," she says. 

"Sarah is cheeky. She's feisty. She's rebellious. In my life, it's not just Royal institution and monarchy, it's a bureaucracy that tries to allow this redhead to conform," she continues. "I believe in the absolute, unequivocal institution of monarchy, I totally support the King and the Queen consort - I've known them all my life. I know the rules."

When asked if she'll be attending the coronation of King Charles, she says that invitations haven't been sent yet. "If not, I'll have a cup of tea and a coronation chicken sandwich... and sausage rolls!" she says cheekily. 

She then speaks quite fondly of King Charles, wishing him well as he prepares to take his place as the new monarch of England. 

"I've always adored him, all my life," Fergie says. "I believe that he is an extraordinary person."

Additionally, she speaks on Harry and Meghan's relationship, which has recently been under a magnified lens in the press - especially since the release of Harry's new memoir, Spare, in addition to the Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan, which follows the ex-Royals lives from a more intimate standpoint.

The Duchess of York has revealed the Queen’s vital piece of advice to her before she died, as well as opening up about their bond.  

In a tell-all interview with The Telegraph earlier this week, Sarah Ferguson revealed her relationship with the late monarch grew stronger over the last few years. 

When asked what the best advice she ever gave her was, the royal replied, “Be yourself, Sarah. All anyone wants is for you to just be yourself.

“I’ve always found that hard. It’s taken me this long to get there.”

During the interview, Sarah went on to say she and the late Queen Elizabeth bonded during dog walks over the years.

“She was able to completely and utterly dilute chaos,” the Duchess continued.

The Duchess addressed the last three years, which saw Prince Andrew sued for sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre - allegations he strenuously denies - and the Prince Andrew case settled in an out of court settlement.

Prince William reassured mourners following the Queen’s death that the corgis were being "spoiled rotten." He said, "They're going to be looked after fine, they're two very friendly corgis and they've got a good home.”

Sarah Ferguson's latest social media update has left fans confused after the royal implied she has already returned to work before the New Year. 

Despite there being no photos of her with her in-laws on Sunday, it's understood that the Duchess of York spent Christmas at Sandringham with the Royal Family. 

The 63-year-old was reportedly invited to join her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, at King Charles' festive gathering for the first time in 30 years. It's understood that the former couple, who still live together at the Royal Lodge, are staying at the five-bedroom cottage, Wood Farm, during their visit to Sandringham. 

It's understood that most members of the Royal Family will remain at the Norfolk residence over the coming days, as they embrace the rare opportunity to be together under one roof after a busy and emotionally challenging year.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla are reportedly planning to head to their Scottish home of Birkhall in early January, while the Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to spend New Year's Eve with the Middletons in Bucklebury. 

With the royals off-duty for the next few weeks, it's no surprise that Sarah's latest social media post left some fans scratching their heads. 

The mother of Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a photo of herself with the caption, "On my way to sign books!"

If true, this would be the first time the Duchess of York has spent Christmas with the royals since 1992, the year she was banned by the Prince Philip due to the scandalous photos of her having her toes sucked by financial adviser John Bryan were leaked to the press.

That particular drama has most recently been revisited in season five of The Crown.

Sarah being embraced by the family shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Despite not spending Christmas with them, she maintained a cordial relationship with many members of the family, and even adopted the Queen’s surviving Corgis to look after following Her Majesty’s death.

Sarah’s return also raises questions about just how visible Andrew will be over the holidays.

The statement, shared with the Daily Mail reads, "The Duchess was in contact with Andy Harries, who produces The Crown, last year and they had a discussion about adapting her novel, Her Heart For A Compass, into a TV series."

Fergie's hit book, Her Heart For A Compass, written with Mills & Boon author Marguerite Kaye, is a fictional account of the life of on the life of her real-life great-great-aunt, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott.

The statement continues, after admitting they had been in touch regarding Fergie's book, "They did not discuss The Crown, or any idea of her helping with the series in any way. Such a suggestion was made separately at one point by a mutual friend, but was not progressed by either side."

It's unsurprising that the royal is eager to distance herself from these allegations as increasingly, public figures voice their concerns and criticism of the series. This includes Dame Judi Dench who penned an open letter referring to The Crown as an, "inaccurate and hurtful account of history."

Although the royal is quick to deny involvement with the show, as criticism mounts before the new season has even premiered, in the past she's spoken about how much she has enjoyed it. 

In an interview with US Weekly, when asked about the show she said, “I thought it was filmed beautifully. The cinematography was excellent. I loved the way they put my wedding in as well.” 

As an unearthed photo, which showed Prince Andrew ‘strangled’ by Fergie, the pair's relationship was a little different from your average royal romance. However, despite not being a working member of the Royal Family and her divorce from Prince Andrew, Fergie has remained close to her ex-husband and his family.

Sarah Ferguson has called the late Queen Elizabeth's Corgis 'the presents that keep giving', sharing a touching series of photos with the precious dogs in honor of her 63rd birthday. 

The Duchess of York took to Instagram on Saturday to pay tribute to Her Majesty's beloved pets, who are now living at the Royal Lodge in Windsor with Prince Andrew and his ex-wife. 

Sarah, a.k.a., 'Fergie', said it was a 'big honor' to rehome the Queen's two Corgis, Muick and Sandy, following the monarch's death at the age of 96. The precious hounds have joined the duke and duchess's five Norfolk terriers, and are reportedly settling in well to their new digs. 

"They all balance out, the carpet moves as I move but I’ve got used to it now," Fergie joked in an interview with the Telegraph last week. 

In the carousel of photos shared on her Instagram this morning, Sarah can be seen playing with Muick and Sandy in the sunny gardens of the Royal Lodge. 

Wearing a green blazer and red and multi-colored shawl, the Her Heart for a Compass author appears to be in her element as she smiles alongside the adorable canines. Fans were quick to share their emotional reactions to the images, which mark the first time Muick and Sandy have been seen since their big move. 

"How heartbreakingly beautiful, they are in safe, gentle hands with Sarah," one person wrote, while another said, "My heart melts at this... It's a lovely site to see Sarah.

Prince Andrew had gifted Corgi Muick, pronounced 'Mick', to the Queen during lockdown in 2021, along with a dorgi named Fergus. Fergus sadly died shortly after Prince Philip's death and was later replaced by Sandy, a corgi gifted to Her Majesty by Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie for the monarch's 95th birthday. 

Since Her Majesty's passing, the Queen's corgis are now living with Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson at their home at Royal Lodge.

The Queen owned around 30 corgis and dorgis during her lifetime and was such a well-known fan of these dogs that the breed has now become synonymous with royalty and Her Majesty herself. 

At the time of her death, the Queen was the owner of three dogs, two corgis, and a cocker spaniel. Since the Queen's death on September 8, her corgis were then adopted by her son Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who live together at their property, Royal Lodge, which is just five miles from Windsor Castle.

Giving an update on the royal pooches' wellbeing, Sarah Ferguson commented that the dogs were 'national treasures' and said that it was 'a big honor' to be caring for them. 

These comments were made by the Duchess of York while she was appearing at the Henley Literary Festival. The Duchess added that she is now the carer for seven dogs as she already owns five Norfolk terriers. However, she added that all the dogs are getting along well and she is adjusting to having a busy household, "they all balance out, the carpet moves as I move, but I’ve got used to it now."

The corgis owned by Her Majesty were named Sandy and Muick. Sandy was a gift from Prince Andrew and his children in June 2021 for the Queen's 95th birthday. Muick was also gifted to the Queen by Prince Andrew in February 2021, just before the death of Prince Philip. 

The Queen's cocker spaniel is four years old and is named Lissy. Lissy was the Queen's first and only cocker spaniel and was a prize winner who competed in the 91st Kennel Club Cocker Spaniel Championship held in Windsor Great Park in 2022. The Queen welcomed Lissy into her family in January 2022, making her the newest addition to the family. It is thought that, unlike the other dogs, Lissy will continue to live with her trainer Ian Openshaw, with whom she is very close.

At the beginning of the summer, the Queen also owned a dorgi named Candy. Candy passed away from old age at the age of 18, just mere months before the Queen.

The Duchess of York has an exciting new project on the horizon – and it's not what you might have expected.

Sarah is set to appear as a judge on new US reality show Dancing with Horses, which will see celebrities compete to create complex dance routines with horses.

Producer Claudia Rosencrantz revealed Sarah's role to Deadline, calling the royal "wonderful".

“She was a judge and she was wonderful to work with,” Claudia, who is formerly head of entertainment at ITV, told the site.

"It's been eight years in my head trying to get those horses dancing," she continued.

"It's literally the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It's like Dancing With The Stars but your partner is a horse and it is an absolutely, exquisite, complicated, wonderful show."

According to the producer, the pilot was shot in the UK so they had access to highly-trained horses from Britain and France. And it sounds like the results made it absolutely worth it.

"It made me extremely happy," she shared. "I saw it, and at last thought I can die happy."

Claudia has previously worked on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but this might have been her most challenging venture yet. She admitted that the production process was "complicated", but said that animal welfare group American Humane was involved in "absolutely every minute of what we were filming".

Meanwhile when it comes to entertainment, Duchess Sarah is certainly a seasoned pro. The ex-wife of Prince Andrew has made TV appearances in Friends and The Vicar of Dibley. Princess Beatrice married her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi last Friday in a private Windsor ceremony, surrounded by her closest royal relatives, including her grandmother the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Princess Beatrice's mother took to social media to pen a sweet tribute in honour of the special day.

Expressing her pride of her daughters, Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Duchess Sarah wrote, 'Never has a mother been more proud than the wedding of Eugenie and Jack, and again with my Beatrice’s loving wedding to Dear Edo. I am so lucky with my girls, and now the best sons-in-law.'

'Thank you to all the very special and kind people that took the time and trouble to send amazingly caring and supportive messages,' Sarah, who shares her royal daughters with Prince Andrew, wrote online.

Meanwhile, Beatrice's younger sister Eugenie, who tied the know with her husband Jack Brooksbank in 2018, shared a gorgeous photo of Bea and Edo on the special day.

'Couldn't Bea happier (get it) 🐝... What a complete joy and privilege to watch you, my beautiful big sister, walk down the aisle to dear Edo. I am so proud of you and I'm so excited to support you in the next chapter of your life. We are going to have so much fun together. Happy wedding day to you both,' she wrote.

In a special image from the wedding day, Beatrice and Edo can be seen posing beside the Queen and Prince Phillip, standing apart to comply with social distancing guidelines.

The tiara worn by the bride was worn by the monarch on her own wedding day back in 1947.

Princess Beatrice’s wedding came as a surprise for everyone earlier today, when news emerged that she had tied the knot at a very small ceremony in Windsor, followed by a wedding reception at the Royal Lodge.

The news was confirmed by Buckingham Palace shortly after reports emerged with a statement, but Beatrice herself and her friends and family are yet to speak out on the joyous day.

Her mum Sarah did post on Instagram, but left fans very confused. Many who were no doubt waiting for her to address her daughter’s big day were surprised to see usual story time post on her feed.

Many fans used the post to congratulate Sarah and her daughter on the big news, with one writing, ‘Congratulations to your daughter a Princess Beatrice and Edo 🤗 soo lovely to hear some good news for a change ❤️ I hope you all have a beautiful day’.

Another said, ‘Many congratulations on the wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo. Wonderful news. You must be very pleased.'

However, others were confused as to whether Fergie was at the reception or not, and called her post ‘sneaky’ for pretending it was a normal day. One said, ‘Surely you’ll be sticking round Windsor for dinner and dancing?’

It’s likely the duchess had scheduled the post and also the story time video which will be published later. She is thought to indeed be at Windsor, celebrating her daughter’s big day.

The Duchess of York is mourning the loss of the son of one of her best friends.

Sarah Ferguson reached out to close friend and "sister," Lisa Marie Presley, following the tragic death of her 27-year-old son.

Fergie, 60, took to Instagram to share a sweet photograph with Lisa and wrote, "You stayed with me in my darkest moment and I am here in Yours .. love you my sister Lisa Marie .. wherever, whatever I am with you, in all steadfastness.

It follows the tragic news of her son's death - the only grandson of the late, great Elvis Presley.

Lisa Marie's manager confirmed the sad news over the weekend and said her son's alleged suicide had left her "beyond devastated".

"She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley," Roger Widynowski said in a statement.

"She adored that boy. He was the love of her life."

Having been through a turbulent year herself, Fergie knows first-hand how it feels to suffer "dark moments".

Things haven’t been easy for the family in recent months after Prince Andrew’s friendship with convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, forced him to step down from royal duties for the “foreseeable future”.

Breaking her silence on the scandal that rocked the family, she said, “When I talk about Prince Andrew, I talk about family because the last six months have been hard on the girls and me. To see such a wonderful man go through such enormous pain.

“He is the best man I know. It’s just incredible what he has done for Britain, and it’s all nonsense, so I talk about familyhood, and I’m very strong about it. The mental health of men is important and I think it is vital to articulate that more.”
