For the presentation, the Oscar-winner went for a classic smart-casual outfit combination of jeans and a white shirt. Her jeans were a smokey grey tone and had statement pockets at the front and seams running across the knees.

If Olivia had worn them with a T-shirt and trainers, the jeans would have felt very relaxed and chic, but the shirt took them up a notch. It had a frilled pie crust collar and gorgeous pleats running down the front, as well as hints of lace.

The contrast between the feminine shirt and loose, boyfriend style jeans was wonderful and the trench coat was totally in-keeping with the neutral colour palette. The actor finished off her ensemble at Paris Fashion Week with black court shoes and a matching bag.

The heels had bold buckle adornments on the pointed toes giving them a glamorous edge. Olivia wore her bag slung over the crook of her arm and the glinting metal strap hung downwards and caught the light.

Each item in this outfit was minimalist and incredibly considered. This is the key to Parisian styling so it’s no wonder that Olivia Colman took this approach for her appearance during fashion week in the French capital.

Iconic actress Olivia Colman pulled the most hilarious prank on Paul Rudd recently, proving her epic accent skills are handy for more than just her movie and TV roles.

While appearing on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast, Paul Rudd, who's been hailed the sexiest man alive, got a prank surprise from his former coworker and pal, Olivia. When Olivia found out Paul was going to be on the show, she directly messaged host Greg James and asked if she could pull a prank on her dear friend - to which Greg of course graciously said yes. 

In a portion of Greg's show, he allowed guests to call in to ask a question to Paul as he was promoting his new Ant Man movie. 

Olivia put on a rather good Welsh accent for her prank to make her voice less recognizable, easily tricking Paul into having no idea it was her.

"Hiya, Paul, I'm a huge fan," Olivia starts in her call to the station. "I wanted to pick your brains."

She then proceeded to make up quite the confusing riddle for Paul, which he responded to with a series of concerned facial expressions, which can be seen in the video recording of their radio conversation posted on the BBC TikTok.

"So, what would you do if you had a really good mate, like for over 20 years, and this friend, he doesn't live in England," Olivia said.

"But he's come to England, and he hasn't told you about it - and then not only has he not told you about it, he's come onto a radio show. What would you do?" 

Paul pauses for a moment. "Oh my God..." he starts. 

"Would you be offended?" Olivia added, still in the Welsh accent. 

"Personally, if it's me, absolutely not. I tend to give everybody the benefit of the doubt," Paul replied. 

Olivia and Paul burst into laughter as Greg revealed that Olivia was in fact on the other side of the line, pranking Paul. 

"Hi Paul, it's Olivia Colman," she says in the clip, laughing away. 

"God, you really can do every accent," Paul says in reply. 

Much to our surprise, Paul and Olivia have been friends for years ever since they were in a play together, Olivia said on the show. Apparently, everyone else was really shocked to hear the two iconic actors were friends, too. 

"Oh my god! Olivia Colman and Paul Rudd are FRIENDS? I love both of them individually and even more together," one TikTok user commented under BBC's video.

"Two of the most wholesome people in the entertainment industry. Perfect," another said.

Even Greg agreed, calling the friendship between Olivia and Paul "glorious" on his show.

Academy Award-winning actor Olivia Colman is already the subject of Oscar buzz in connection to her latest film, Empire of Light, a British romantic drama written and directed by Sam Mendes in which Olivia stars as Hilary Small, a depressed duty manager at Empire Cinema in the English south coast in 1980 who is having two extramarital affairs: one with her boss Donald Ellis (Colin Firth) and another with her younger co-worker, Stephen (Micheal Ward).

Olivia, who most recently starred in new drama Landscapers, an addictive retelling of the 1998 Mansfield murders, spoke to the Mirror about her role, specifically addressing the portion of the film that made her most nervous despite her decades-long career.

"This was something I found a little bit scary, which was exciting to me," the 49-year-old actor said to the outlet about the intimate scenes she filmed with Micheal, who is 25 years old. "Playing a woman of my age who's having a love affair with a younger man, that's the most terrifying part of the whole film for me. But then I met Micheal and he made me feel much more at ease. [He] was much more mature about it than I was!"

Sam also went on the record about the topic while appearing on the BBC's Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg show. 

"[Olivia] was very embarrassed about performing the sex scenes, as is often the case," he said. "You're seeing people at their rawest, at their most emotionally vulnerable. You're trying to push a little further into the places that you're not normally allowed to go into, you’re going behind the curtain as it were and I wanted to see their physical desire."

The hard work clearly paid off as Olivia, who is actually related to a member of the royal family, has already been nominated for a Golden Globe for best performance by an actress in a motion picture in connection to Empire of Light.

As she explains in her latest interview, Olivia's decision to take on the part was a no brainer. "I said yes before I'd even seen the script," she said to the Mirror. "I can't imagine many actors, when they speak to Sam Mendes on a Zoom in their kitchen, going, 'Ah, nah. I'm not that interested.' So I said yes."

Her excitement was clearly not dampened by the fact that Hilary is a troubled character, joining a roster of similar personalities that Olivia has been known to take on throughout her years in Hollywood. Her ability to be unaffected by the depth of the source material is obviously a unique gift.

"I'm not one that takes things home with me, so I was fine," says the actor. "I like to throw myself in, I like to be as truthful and honest as possible – but then, I don’t have that problem [switching off], which I’m very grateful for. It can leave a residue, but I don’t have that."

When asked about what she likes to do on her time off to disconnect from work, Olivia is quick to surprise by sharing her love for a pretty unlikely movie pick. "I could watch Paddington all day, every day," she notes to the outlet. "I need a happy ending. With kids' films, they always break your heart at some point. Toy Story 3? Heartbreaking!"

In addition to Empire of Light, Olivia has recently voiced the character of Mama Bear on Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and will star in the upcoming musical fantasy Wonka sometime this year. On the television front, she'll reprise her role on Netflix's Heartstopper and then be part of the upcoming miniseries Great Expectations, based on the eponymous novel by Charles Dickens.

Olivia Colman nailed the business-casual look at the 2022 Bafta Awards last night, stepping out in a stunning new hairdo and chic power suit. 

The Oscar-winning actress graced the red carpet of Britain's most iconic TV awards show in London on Sunday evening, marking her first media appearance since the British Academy Television Craft Awards in April. 

She was joined by her husband, Ed Sinclair, whose Sky show Landscapers (which Olivia also starred in!) was nominated for seven awards. Unfortunately, the black-comedy miniseries didn't take home any accolades, with its most notable defeat being its loss of Best Miniseries to the BBC prison drama, Time. 

Luckily, there is one category in which Olivia absolutely scored top points—and that's fashion. After sailing her way into our Oscars 2022 best-dressed list, the 48-year-old proved once again that when it comes to style, she's always a winner. 

Olivia looked glamorously formidable at the Baftas in an oversized black trouser suit by Alexander McQueen and strappy black heels, accented by a silver clutch and a cluster of silver finger rings. She teamed the £1,790 double-breasted blazer with a pair of dangling diamond earrings, avoiding an accessories overload by skipping the neck jewelry. 

As for her makeup, The Crown star embraced a nighttime look with smokey eyes and glossy lips—oh, and that flawless Olivia Colman skin we all know and envy.

Olivia Colman paid a sweet tribute to her late father who died during the pandemic as she won an Emmy for her incredible performance as the Queen in The Crown.

On Sunday, September 19, Olivia Colman broke down as she won the  Outstanding Lead Actress Emmy for her performance in Netflix's The Crown.

Accepting the award in London, the actress said,  “Thank you very much, I’d have put money on that not happening. I don’t know what to say—thank you very much for this, this is amazing."

She then spoke about her love for the cast and crew of the hit show. "And what a lovely end to the most extraordinary journey with this lovely family. I loved every second of it and I can’t wait to see what happens next," said Olivia. 

The actor's parting words are a sweet nod to Season 5 of The Crown as she hands over the reins to a new generation of actors, including Imelda Staunton who is playing the Queen.

Olivia then became overcome with emotion as she added, “I’ll be quick as I’m very teary. I wish my dad was here to see this. I lost my daddy during Covid, he would have loved all of this.”

It is unknown if Olivia's father Keith Colman died after contracting the virus, but the actress had described him in previous interviews as 'frail.' Olivia told the Daily Mail's Weekend magazine in January 2021, "He’s a lovely man. He’s getting on of course – he’s relatively frail compared to the young man I remember, and that’s upsetting. But he’s a very nice Daddy." 

Olivia finished her speech by saying, “Also, Michaela Coel, f**k yeah!"

This was a reference to Michaela Coel’s triumphant win of Emmy for Best Writing in a Television Limited Series or Movie, for her work on BBC and HBO’s I May Destroy You. 

Michaela was the first Black woman to ever win the award and made a powerful acceptance speech, that concluded with Michaela saying, “I dedicate this story to every single survivor of sexual assault.”

Fellow nominees for this award included Emma Corrin, Elisabeth Moss, Uzo Aduba, Jurnee Smollett, and Mj Rodriguez.

Emma Corrin also starred as Princess Diana in The Crown alongside Olivia. Although they were both competing for the same award there seemed to be no hard feelings as Emma cheered and applauded her co-star's win.

Gillian Anderson, who starred in The Crown as Margaret Thatcher, also won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a drama series. Tobias Menzies also won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor and Josh O'Connor won for Best Actor.

In total the cast and crew of The Crown took home a total of 11 Emmy wins.

The producer of The Crown has told viewers that the show will come to an end after season six, due to a long-maintained decision by its writer and creator.

The Netflix favourite centred on the Royal Family has captured audiences for four seasons, with the most run garnering more internet commentary and critical acclaim than ever before.

Yet, despite its popularity, the programme will very likely come to its permanent end after its sixth offering—as boss Peter Morgan wants to let enough time pass between real-life happenings and their creative portrayal for audiences.

In an interview with Broadcast, producer Suzanne Mackie confirmed why Morgan has decided to call time on the program before reaching events from the 2010s and beyond.

"Peter has said it very articulately, that he simply can't write something unless there has been time to gain a proper perspective,” she explained.

"I think he's always felt 10 years is the minimum amount of time that he can see something in a historical context, to allow him to really understand it."

She went on to explain that while she doesn’t think he’ll deviate from this plan, his talent for storytelling will make the seasons left to come shine. "We all know these stories, but what Peter does so brilliantly is get underneath that and understand the landscape in a more nuanced, complex, surprising way.”

The programme explores the major events that take place during the reign of Elizabeth II, starting in the first season with her coming to the throne and the major adjustments that come with her new role.

Claire Foy played the part of the Queen for two seasons before the role was then taken up by Academy Award-winning actress Olivia Colman for seasons 3 and 4.

Imelda Staunton is next in line to play the monarch, starting with the upcoming fifth season which is said to begin filming later this month.

The most recent season explored the relationship between Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales. Viewers were particularly charmed by the performance of Emma Corrin as the late mother of William and Harry, while Josh O’Connor was nominated for a Bafta for his portrayal of the Prince of Wales.

Olivia Colman has revealed how she once wet herself not just in public, but on stage –and it was all Peepshow co-star David Mitchell's fault. 

The pair used to work together on hit UK TV show Peepshow and we imagine shared plenty of laughs behind the scenes while filming. 

Speaking with the National Theatre co-director Rufus Norris for the video series Life In Stages, Olivia recalled the fateful moment that her "entire bladder emptied" on stage. 

“It was his fault,” she said, referring to her co-star David Mitchell. 

She then added, “It is also a fear in the back of my head, that I could pee myself on stage. I did do it once, on a raked stage.

“My entire bladder emptied and it just went towards the audience in the front row. It made it worse. I just could not stop."

She then continued to clarify that the audience knew what was going on and had to keep "moving away from little bits of wee."

Olivia also revealed that not only was co-star David responsible for making her laugh on stage, he also penned the anecdote in his new book, revealing to the world her on-stage faux pas. Luckily, the Oscar-winning actress has a great sense of humor!

During the interview, Olivia surprisingly admitted that she suffers from stage fright, describing her "crippling anxiety" before going on stage.

"Being on stage I've developed a massive fear," she told Rufus, revealing that she's "terrified" of not living up to fans' expectations. 

“I worry that as I get older and slightly more recognizable, people will say: We went to see that person we have seen on the telly – not that good on stage."

She revealed that she turned to hypnotherapy to overcome her stage fright. 

From a woman who's starred in multiple Hollywood blockbusters, the most-watched TV shows in the world, and accepted numerous awards with millions watching, it's nice to know that nerves get the better of her sometimes, too!

As soon as season four of Netflix’s The Crown hits our screens we devoured the new episodes greedily. Viewers can't get enough of the inner workings of the royal family, and in particular learning more about the leading character of the show - Queen Elizabeth II. 

As well as the gazing at all the stunning sets and learning more about Princess Diana's makeup tricks, season four is also the last chance we’ll get to see Olivia Colman’s captivating portrayal of the Queen. Since taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy in the previous series, Colman has won a Golden Globe Award for the role and received much acclaim for her impressive performance.

We’re definitely going to miss her mesmerising performance and it looks like we’re not the only ones. Olivia has admitted she has thoroughly enjoyed portraying the monarch and revealed she’s even developed a new found love for the royal. "Having played the Queen, I have become slightly in love with her now," said the actor to the Financial Times.

The period drama has major cast changes every two seasons as we jump through the years of the Queen’s 68-year reign. 

Olivia took over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy in series three, but her time on the throne will finish at the end of series four, with actor Imelda Staunton taking over the role for series five.

It's safe to say Olivia Colman is having a moment. The royally talented actress, who plays Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown, accepted the title of outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series at the SAG Awards but chose to highlight the true winners of 2020 during her speech.

"We'd all like to say thank you to our wonderful national health service during this very peculiar year. We are very lucky in the U.K. to have you. Thank you all very much," she said. 

The beloved drama about the British monarch earned even more recognition during the virtual ceremony: Gillian Anderson took home the award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series. (Although she beat Olivia, there are certainly no hard feelings amongst these royals.)

Sadly, the show will not return to streaming services until 2022 (cue the tears), but Olivia is keeping busy in the meantime. She is set to star in the 'darkly comic' Landscapers, which will focus on the 1998 Mansfield ‘garden bodies’ murders. A bit of a switch, to say the least, but we're ready for her next role! While she's at it, perhaps she could also convince Phoebe Waller-Bridge that Fleabag very much needs and deserves a third season.

Although one of Hollywood's biggest nights was forced to go digital, the occasion didn't skimp on fashionable outfits (psst: this is Olivia's red carpet go-to) and extraordinary moments. Olivia Colman's new drama Landscapers promises to be a 'darkly comic' retelling of the gruesome 1998 Mansfield ‘garden bodies’ murders. 

Landscapers tells the story of Susan Edwards, who along with her husband Christopher, murders her parents, William and Patricia Wycherley, and buries them in the garden. The Crown's Olivia Colman, who just recently missed out on a SAG Award to costar Gillian Anderson, will be playing the role of Susan. She will be joined by actor David Thewlis, who played Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter movies, as Christopher Edwards.

Filming in Nottingham and Mansfield has already started, with Nottinghamshire Live reporting that film crews have been spotted at various locations around the county.

What were the Mansfield Murders? 

The Mansfield murders perplexed both the police force and the public. Susan and Christopher Edwards, a seemingly mild-mannered couple, murdered Susan's parents in the May Bank Holiday of 1998.

They buried the bodies in the garden and then spend 15 years looting their bank accounts to spend on Hollywood memorabilia, particularly autographs of movie star Gary Cooper. Their crime went undetected, until 16 years later when the couple finally issued a confession to the police via email. Susan is currently serving 25 years behind bars for killing her reclusive parents and burying them in their Blenheim Close garden.

“They didn’t lead a particularly lavish lifestyle,” DCI Griffin said of the couple, as reported by the BBC. 

"It would seem that the vast majority of their money was spent on memorabilia, on authenticated autographed items on people that they admired.

“It’s staggering to think that’s what they spent their money on. But that’s what they did.”

What else do we know about Landscapers? 

The official press release for Landscapers promises that 'this blackly comic, narratively playful true-crime drama is based on extensive research, hours of interviews and direct access to the accused, who have always protested their innocence of murder.

'[As such], this is the story of a unique murder case involving four lives lived on the margins of society, that turns into an exhilarating and darkly funny exploration of love and fantasy: its power and its peril.'

Mr Thewlis said of his role in the drama, "This is, without doubt, the very finest project I have worked on for many years.

"Everything about Landscapers is magical, there is nothing like it and I’m impatient to get to work so that its brilliance can be shared with the rest of the world."

Landscaper's mini series will comprise of just four episodes and is being produced by Sky Atlantic and Now TV.

Most of us would be distraught if we lost out on a Golden Globe, but The Crown actress Olivia Coleman took losing like a true star.

The actress, who starred in the hit Netflix show was nominated in two categories for playing the Queen in The Crown and also for her role in A Father.

However, instead of looking upset when she didn't win, she did a victory dance for the winners - and it didn't go amiss by her fans, who took to Twitter to congratulate her on her amazing response.

Olivia was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series, while she was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, for her part in The Father.

Emma Corrin, who starred with her in The Crown was also nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series, for her roles as Princess Diana. So, when the winner was announced the two actresses were side by side on the video link.

But instead of looking disheartened about her loss, when Emma was announced as the winner, Olivia couldn't look more excited, clapping, and then doing a little victory dance. How sweet!

Fans of Olivia took to Twitter to share Olivia's reaction, while one added: “Olivia Colman’s reaction when Emma Corrin won is the most beautiful thing you will see.”

While another also added: "Watching Olivia Colman go nuts cheering for Emma Corrin when she beat her for a globe was the most precious."

The Crown did well at Sunday night's Golden Globes, collecting four awards for the Netflix show - including Best Drama series and also Best Supporting Actress.

According to researchers at MyHeritage.com, the leading global family history company, Olivia and the Queen are in fact 13th cousins, both descended from Richard Saunders (1452-1480) and Agnes Courtenay (1452-1485). Richard and Agnes lived in Surrey, England.

The news that Olivia has royal blood of her own will no doubt come as a pleasant surprise after she revealed that she’s developed a new found love for Her Majesty.

"Having played the Queen, I have become slightly in love with her now," Olivia told the Financial Times earlier this month.

"I think as far as royals go, she has such humility and a sort of stoicism that are very impressive."

The Oscar-winning actress will see her time on the throne finish at the end of series four, with actor Imelda Staunton taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth II for series five of The Crown.

Olivia's newfound connection to the Queen could soon become a more pleasant story to tell, after she revealed that she had an awkward encounter with Prince William.

Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Olivia Colman was asked if she had ever met a royal, to which she replied: “Yes, but it didn’t go very well.”

The star said she struck up a conversation with Prince William while the pair attended a dinner together.

She said: "He asked what I was doing at the moment before he quickly added, 'Actually, I know what you’re doing.'

"I was so excited and asked, 'Have you watched it?' His answer was a firm, 'No'. But he was very charming and very lovely."

Unable to meet up to conduct a handover of the role, Olivia admitted she would be "so excited" to speak to Imelda ahead of filming.

Helena Bonham Carter, who plays the role of Princess Margaret, wished her own replacement – Lesley Manville – the best of luck.

She said, "It's like handing a baton. It's like a relay race, but it never comes back. I want to hand her my cigarette holder and say, 'Good luck with this'."

Meanwhile there are more actor swaps - Jonathan Pryce will take over the role of Prince Phillip. And The Crown newbie Gillian Anderson has joined the cast as Margaret Thatcher.

Olivia Colman is a very talented artist, but her latest career move still surprised us.

The actor has had many successes recently, from her Oscar win for The Favourite, to her upcoming portrayal of the Queen in Netflix’s The Crown.

But now it seems we can add singer to Olivia Colman’s list of professions, as she has actually recorded a single.

While she’s not exactly foraying into a music career just yet, the Fleabag star recorded a cover of Portishead’s single Glory Box for a charity album.

The song will go on Got It Covered, a charity complication album by the BBC organisation Children in Need to be released on 1 November.

She’s previously been very modest about her singing skills, telling the Evening Standard, “I can hold a tune, but I’m not under any impression I’m a proper singer.”

However, she already had one fan of her vocals in her former drama tutor Paul Hands, who recently told The Times, “She has a beautiful singing voice. We haven’t really seen that voice in public yet.”

Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker will be on the album singing a cover of Coldplay’s Yellow, while Suranne Jones will be covering Clean Bandit’s Symphony.

The Crown fans everywhere are delighted that Olivia Colman will be playing Queen Elizabeth II in season 3 of the show, but did you know the star had an unexpected run-in with The Queen herself once?

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Olivia Colman recently revealed that she found herself accidentally meeting with The Queen during a British Film Institute event. “I have accidentally met the Queen.” Olivia admitted.

She continued, explaining that she joined a queue, thinking it was the line for food - when actually, it was a line to meet the monarch and her husband, Prince Philip!

Olivia said, “It was at a British Film Institute gathering to raise the profile of British film, independent film. We suddenly found ourselves, 200 people, in a big queue.

"I thought maybe we were going in to have some food. I hadn't read the order of the day. I looked around the corner, and there was the Queen and Prince Philip, and went, 'Oh! Oh no! I don’t know what to do!'"

Thankfully there was someone on-hand to help Olivia out with protocol, as she was told by ‘a gentleman with epaulettes’ not to overdo it.

He advised her to, “[do a] little bow, and you say, Your Majesty, and Your Royal Highness, and go. Make it as swift as possible and go”.

Olivia Colman confessed the exchange was “sort of sticky-handed” and “stumbly”, but she got through it okay.

Olivia Colman has voiced her upset over the discovery that Wikipedia had listed her as having the wrong age.

The The Crown actress revealed that the website had her age down as 52, when she's actually only 44, born in 1974.

She went on to explain that after noticing the error, she emailed Wikipedia - initially pretending she was someone else so as not to appear "vain". However, she didn't get a response for a while.

Speaking to her Broadchurch co-star David Tennant on his new podcast, David Tenant Does a Podcast With..., Olivia said, "Once, on Wikipedia, they had my birthday as the wrong day, the wrong month, and eight years before I was born.

"I emailed them, pretending it wasn't me. I wrote, 'I was at school with her and that's not her birthday'. I didn't want them to think I was being so vain.

"I didn't get a reply, and wrote again going 'sorry guys, but I know it's wrong'. And they didn't reply."

Oscar nominee Olivia then shared that she finally revealed her true identity, confessing that the error had really upset her.

She said, "So I said, 'actually, this is me, and it's really upsetting me that you've made me eight years older than I actually am'.

“And they said, ‘we’d have to see a birth certificate to prove it’, and I went, ‘whose f****** birth certificate have you looked at in the first place to make me eight years older?'”

Is Olivia Coleman's age correct now?

The actress went on to explain that the incident was years ago and that, thankfully, the team at Wikipedia have now changed Olivia's age to the correct number, after confirming her birthday is 30th January 1974.

The popular actress is currently starring in hit Hollywood film The Favourite, a period comedy/drama, examining the relationship between two cousins, played by Olivia and Emma Stone.

Olivia is also currently filming the third season of The Crown, where she plays Queen Elizabeth II herself, for the first time in the history of the hit series.

She confessed recently that she finds playing the Queen the harder of her two current roles, because the monarch's mannerisms and voice are so well known.

Olivia confessed, "I find the harder is Queen Elizabeth because everyone knows what she looks like, everyone knows what she sounds like, everyone has an opinion on whether the casting is right."
