Having been married twice - to Brad Pitt between 2000 and 2005, and to Justin Theroux for just over 2 years - Jennifer often faced prying questions about whether she would have a child, and what the delay was, with some outlets previously suggesting she was choosing her career first.

After years of speculation about her love life and her family plans, the Emmy winner addressed it all for the first time in a candid conversation with Allure.

Jennifer told the magazine in 2022: "I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road. All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard.

"I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favour.' You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed."

Addressing the implication she put it on hold to focus on her career, she said, "I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don’t have anything to hide at this point."

The Friends star added that she found a sense of relief when she realised the ship had sailed, in her own words. "I actually feel a little relief now because there is no more, ‘Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.’ I don’t have to think about that anymore."

Jennifer later revisited the topic, appearing on an episode of Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast in 2025. She spoke about feeling "peaceful" about learning to let go of what she cannot control.

Of any plans to start a family a different way, she added, "And when people say, 'But you can adopt.' I don't want to adopt. I want my own DNA in a little person. That's the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I've wanted it to come.

"Just wasn't in the plan. Whatever the plan was," she said, closing the matter.

Nothing gets as much wear in my wardrobe as my best white trainers. They take me from floaty floral midi dresses to casual denim effortlessly, and I can't think of a single shoe that offers quite so much versatility.

However, I admit, I always reach this point of the year when I start to get worried about my white trainers in this weather. It's not quite winter boots cold yet, and trainers are the perfect footnote to jeans and a blazer outfits, but one muddy puddle and I'm spending the evening trying to make them look box-fresh again.

During an interview with Glamour, Jen’s The Morning Show co-star Marion Cotillard revealed that she “admired” Jen for the way she has “evolved and aged so gracefully".

This prompted Jen to reveal that, while she does indulge in beauty treatments like facials and lasers to keep her appearance “maintained”, her real secret to ageing “gracefully” is more to do with having a positive “mindset.”

She explained, “I think as far as ageing gracefully, I have an eternal fountain of optimism and positivity. Call it youth if you want. But I think it all starts with how we love our bodies and love where we are."

She added, "I'm not going to say I don't get the facials and the lasers and all that good stuff. I mean, I'm maintained. I'm not going to just go down and let these grey hairs take over. So its perspective, and also knowing that this is our one body. It's a mindset.”

Jen’s mindset trick is yet another realistic and relatable way she views ageing and wellness, with her previously opening up about her 80/20 approach to wellness. This, she explained, is where she spends “80%” of her time doing “healthy living” with her exercise and healthy diet, while the other 20% is “go have a martini, go have your pizza and burgers and stay up late with your friends.

"But it almost felt like we’d been mourning Matthew for a long time because his battle with that disease was a really hard one for him to fight."

Jennifer added, "As hard as it was for all of us and for the fans, there’s a part of me that thinks this is better. I’m glad he’s out of that pain."

Of their relationship, Matthew had previously singled out Jennifer for continuing to check up on him through his sobriety journey and struggles.

Sporting a pair of delicate black flip-flops, the cargo-style pants she opted for bring a lovely pop of muted color to the outfit while also playing into the laid back feel of her footwear. But she still elevated her look by adding a timeless and elegant single-breasted black blazer, which she wore over a simple charcoal grey tank top.

Underneath her jacket Jennifer wore a black roll neck jumper and, as Caroline noticed, a Saint Laurent black crossbody bag. This bag was big enough for her character’s essentials without being overly bulky, whilst the crossbody strap worn under the jacket gave her items an enhanced level of security. She coordinated her black pointed toe boots with her blazer and bag, creating a lovely sense of cohesion.

If Jennifer was wearing a similar look, out of character as Alex from The Morning Show, she could easily have swapped the boots for a pair of her best white trainers to make it even more relaxed. Although this was a filming look, we’ve also seen Jennifer reach for a cropped blazer and jeans combination before. 

In 2019 she wore a different black cropped blazer with washed black skinny jeans and black suede ankle boots. So it seems that whether on set or not, Jennifer Aniston’s love of cropped blazers and denim is a go-to for her - and we’re definitely going to be trying it out this autumn.
