Nothing brightens up a dreary day like wearing a pop of colour and the Duchess of Edinburgh definitely did this when she and Prince Edward enjoyed a day at the races on 29th November. Braving the grey clouds and rain, the couple attended The Coral Gold Cup at Newbury and Sophie’s ensemble consisted of suede Sinatra knee-high boots by Penelope Chilvers - and two surprising shades.

Her long khaki coat is a piece she’s worn on Christmas Day before and she accessorised with a pink clutch and a camel hat decorated with a vibrant pink ribbon. Until I saw this look I’m not sure I’d have been brave enough to style green and raspberry pink and yet she made it look so chic.

The Duchess already wears a lot of green and purple, but the pink was even more statement. Because the raspberry tone was the most vivid element, Sophie incorporated it sparingly.

The ribbon on her hat was eye-catching whilst still being quite a small part of the design and her clutch bag was equally minimal. She let the rich pink colour do the talking and her green coat was an earthy khaki rather than emerald or leaf-green, which also helped with a sense of balance.

The Duchess of Edinburgh finished off her Newbury outfit with her Penelope Chilvers knee-high boots, which are currently reduced to £180, down from £359. Sophie likes to support the best British clothing brands like this when she can and her boots had a sturdy block heel and rounded toe.

They come in different shades, though hers were the caramel versions and they were a clever pairing for such a bold, colourful look. The Duchess’s neutral boots worked with both the pink and green, and were a softer contrast against them than black knee-highs would’ve been.

All-too-often we think of black boots first when we want something versatile, but lighter browns can work even better with lighter or brighter colours. The boots also tied in with the main colour of Sophie’s hat and the matching elements gave this look a cohesive, polished feel.

Even if you remain unconvinced by her example of wearing pink and green together, she’s given a masterclass in how to style clashing colours in a sophisticated way. Classic boots can be the perfect finishing touch and going for timeless silhouettes like her long, tailored coat are key.

You could go for a colourful coat with all-black clothes for a bold date night outfit, or a pair of bright trousers with a more muted jumper - the possibilities are endless, it’s just about the balance and what shades work for your signature style.

Black Friday officially kickstarted on Friday 28 November 2025, however many retailers are offering deals that run all the way through Cyber Weekend and wrap up tomorrow on 1st December, which is known as Cyber Monday.

If you're looking to bag a major discount on bestselling beauty products, now is the perfect time to do so. With savings of up to 80% off, if something you’ve been eyeing is included, now is a smart time to buy before stock sells out.

Are Black Friday beauty deals usually better than Cyber Monday?

From years of Cyber Weekend deal-hunting, we’ve found that most Black Friday and Cyber Monday beauty discounts stay roughly the same - although occasionally retailers offer a last-minute sweetener on the final day of the sales. However, the most in-demand products tend to sell out fast over Black Friday, meaning many favourites never make it to Cyber Monday.

Are Black Friday and Cyber Monday beauty deals better than Boxing Day?

Many shoppers use the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales to secure Christmas gifts early – especially when hunting down the best Christmas gifts for her or the best Christmas gifts for couples. And while there are still great savings to be found after Black Friday – including the Boxing Day sales and late Cyber Monday deals – those discounts aren’t always guaranteed on the most coveted items.

There are also plenty of other sales post-Black Friday that boast opportunities to bag a good deal - for example, the Boxing Day sales and Cyber Monday deals that can be as good as Black Friday.

However, it’s typically harder to find deals on luxury hair tools or viral beauty favourites once Cyber Weekend has passed. Although we can’t predict every offer still to come, experience tells us that Cyber Weekend is the best time to score a true bargain (or tick off your Christmas list), as retailers tend to roll out their most generous discounts in the run-up to Christmas.

Plus, shopping now means you can skip the Boxing Day crowds entirely – a win-win.

Catherine, Princess of Wales’s traditional Christmas tree with shimmering gold and red colour scheme is the welcoming display we’ll be recreating.

The Princess of Wales is someone we always find ourselves turning to for style inspiration so it’s no surprise that when we’re in need of some Christmas decorating ideas she’s our first port of call too. Decorating a living room for Christmas is often focused around the tree and Kate’s traditional Christmas tree design from a few years ago is so traditional and cosy. Whilst we don’t know what the Wales family’s Christmas tree at Adelaide Cottage looks like this year, in December 2022 the Princess was photographed in front of a red and gold Christmas tree in a post shared for her Together at Christmas carol service.

It’s not clear exactly where this snap was taken, although the gorgeous fireplace, book-laden shelves and gold-framed artwork on the wall suggests it could have been at one of the royal residences.

Either way, Kate’s tree was fabulously festive and whilst there was no tinsel in sight, it was covered in shimmering fairy lights. Having warm-toned fairy lights instantly makes your tree look that bit cosier and inviting and they perfectly complemented the gold and red decorations. Some of the best Christmas tree decorations are those you can bring back year after year and the combination of gold and red is not only stunning, but incredibly timeless and festive.

The glimmer of the gold and richness of the deep red was a lovely contrast and Kate also chose to have minimal baubles and other ornaments. Instead, bows were a big thing on this royal Christmas tree and the Princess mixed in different textures of velvet and a more sheer, metallic fabric.

We’ve never really considered going all-out with bows before, but we definitely will do after coming across this royal tree throwback. It seems that once again Kate was ahead of the trend too as woman&home's Digital Lifestyle Editor Tamara Kelly reveals that bow decorations are hugely popular for Christmas 2024.

"The Royal Christmas tree is the epitome of traditional style with warming tones of burnished gold and ruby red, delicately highlighted by the glow of warm white lights," she says. "It's the perfect balance of understated glam and heirloom style. I particularly love the decadent red velvet bows, they add a softness to the scheme and are one of the biggest Christmas decorating trends taking over for 2024."

Bows can be picked up so affordably and the royal Christmas tree in Kate’s photo shows just how much of an impact they can make. Texture is an important factor when you’re decorating a tree and since the Royal Family are said to steer clear of it, having bows or other softer, fabric ornaments are a great alternative.

Keeping to warm tones and warm lights also accentuated the traditional and "heirloom" style of the tree. This traditional tree design is clearly a favourite of Kate’s, as in 2023 she was pictured decorating another Christmas tree with similar red and gold baubles. Whether or not you’re a fan of these colours yourself, it’s easy to take inspiration from this tree by choosing warm fairy lights, keeping to minimal colours and adding some beautiful festive bows.

As a fashion editor and avid shopper, I've been on the lookout for the very best Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals all weekend long, and I must say this Spanx bra really stopped me in my tracks.

Adele’s perfume that has been her signature scent for 20 years is suddenly so much more affordable and it’s on our wish-list ahead of the festive season. 

Adele’s perfume is every bit as iconic as the award-winning singer and with so many Cyber Monday beauty deals still going strong, now might be the best opportunity all year to add this signature scent to your own collection. Adele revealed she’s worn Dior’s Hypnotic Poison for two decades and you can now add it to your own collection with huge savings to me found at multiple retailers.

If you love a heady scent like Adele then this could be the scent for you as Hypnotic Poison eau de parfum is an “intense composition”, according to Dior. It has vanilla, musk, bitter almond, orange blossom and jasmine sambac notes which come together to create a rich ambery scent.

The bottle is every bit as beautiful as Adele’s perfume smells and Dior designed it with “voluptuous curves” that give it the appearance of a “tempting apple”. The deep red bottle is sure to make a statement amongst your fragrance collection.

The Dior Hypnotic Poison eau de toilette has even more of an amber-vanilla depth to it and also has jasmine and bitter almond notes. 

Dior suggests wearing the perfume on your pulse points - the wrists, behind your ears and your neck for maximum impact. Adele’s perfume is something she’s loved since she was 15 and her long-time use of it speaks volumes - as does her commitment to not switching up her scent.

As per Billboard back in 2015, Adele opened up about her signature perfume on Australia’s “60 Minutes” when she was 27 and revealed that she won’t be creating her own perfume when she loves Dior Hypnotic Poison so much. 

“I wouldn’t wear my own perfume,” she declared. “That’s not me being in touch with my fans. I’ll always wear the same perfume I’ve always worn since I was 15.”

At this point if Adele’s perfume has remained her ultimate go-to, she’s been wearing it loyally for twenty years which is a pretty impressive endorsement of Hypnotic Poison. Perfume is one of the few areas of our beauty arsenals where we're resigned to spending a little bit more, especially if it equates to the discovery of our new signature scent. Thankfully though, even some of the best perfumes for women were included in the Cyber deals, with savings across a number of our team's favourite long-lasting fragrances.

That being said, if you were scouring the Diptyque Cyber Monday sales for a discount on a certain luxe and ever-delicate perfume, otherwise known as Fleur de Peau, you may have come away feeling bitterly disappointed. The popular scent is currently not on sale - which is heartbreaking, to say the least - but as a fellow Diptyque fan myself, I am here to share my go-to alternative, which smells very similar, is just as popular and currently under £50 in the Cyber Monday deals... 

The best alternative to Diptyque's Fleur De Peau, according to a Beauty Writer 

If you're a lover of powdery floral perfumes that have a musky, slightly peppery edge, naturally you'll have been drawn to Diptyque's cult favourite Fleur de Peau scent (available at John Lewis), with its blend of musk, iris, ambrette seeds and pink pepper. 

Alas though, this flattering scent did not experience a price drop, remaining £148 for 75ml but do you know what did? Glossier You - which not only shares a similar scent anatomy to Fleur but it's currently £42.75, down from £57 in the brand's Cyber Monday deals.

This cult-favourite skin scent is something of the younger sister to Fleur de Peau, with similar key notes of iris, pink pepper and ambrette seeds. It's slightly less powdery and offers more of a musky aura but upon first sniff, the scent is certainly reminiscent of the luxury fragrance.

In fact, if you're a lover of the former but perhaps it's a tad out of your price range, or are looking to build your scent collection with another warm floral, Glossier You is a gorgeous substitute, for £105 less.

You is also available in a range of sizes, including a new, larger option which is also discounted. As well as a rollerball and solid perfume option - which is considered to be one of the best solid perfumes on the market. Don't delay though, as Glossier's Cyber sale ends tonight.

JLo’s highlighter is a must-have to help her achieve her gorgeous glowy complexion and it’s got such a low price right now for just a few more hours.

Jennifer Lopez’s gorgeous glowy complexion is something many of us might dream about recreating on ourselves and thanks to the Cyber Monday beauty deals, her must-have product is now a lot more affordable. YSL’s legendary Touche Éclat has achieved cult classic status for a reason and JLo is a fan too. The pen design makes the illuminating product effortless to apply and you can now pick up a Touche Éclat yourself from as low as £21.75.

SHOP JLO'S HIGHLIGHTER

The Jenny from the Block singer previously shared how much she relies on this luxe highlighter in a special video for Vogue’s YouTube channel. Masterfully applying her make-up, JLo talked viewers through her contour routine to achieve a beautifully sculpted face, including various shades from a Bobbi Brown cream palette.

When it came to enhancing the brighter areas of her face, though, JLo used YSL Touche Éclat on her under-eye area, as well as outside the bridge of her nose and down the bridge too. Crafted from gorgeous wool, the Princess of Wales’s Tilda coat from Hobbs is a classic style for the luxurious high-street brand. A long-term fan of bold hues, Kate’s coat is a fabulous fuchsia shade, however anyone who’s been eyeing up this winter staple in a more neutral colour is in luck.

Will there be a Gucci Cyber Monday sale in 2023?

Gucci itself, in line with previous years, is not taking part in the Cyber Monday sale either online or in-store. But that doesn't mean you can't bag yourself Gucci for less. 

As in previous years, a number of Gucci's stockists have decided to take part in the Cyber Weekend sale period, offering a selection of discounted Gucci items amongst their product mix. This covers everything from bags and accessories to beauty, fragrance and sunglasses.

Last year's best deals came from a mix of big-name department stores and outlets in the US. But UK stores weren't far behind and we've spotted promising deals at Net-a-Porter, Flannels, The Outnet and Coggles to name just a few.

Does Gucci hold resale value?

Yes, Gucci pieces often hold their value at resale, sometimes selling for even more than the original price. However there are certain factors that influence this, such as whether the style is a limited run, consumer demand, and the condition of the piece means - so price and resale value can differ on a case-by-case basis. Generally speaking, as the price of designer bags tend to increase year on year, older styles will now be worth considerably more, new through retailers, increasing the chance that shoppers will want second hand purchases at a more affordable price - while still maintaining or increasing in value for the original seller.

As with all designer items that you hope will hold its resale value, classic colours and timeless designs always are the safest bet, although the classics don't often make it into the discount section, so keep your eyes peeled. Always look for brand signatures, such as iconic monograming, recognisable hardware or a particular colour palette.

The shopping platform and publication reported in March 2022 that the above bags all held their value at resale between 100-120%. 

When looking at which Gucci bags might hold their value at resale, choose classic handbag designs that won't go out of style, or look out for limited edition pieces. 

"Limited edition pieces are also something to consider when buying a handbag. Rarity drives up the price. A special colourway or limited edition collection for example increases demand," says Sophie Hersan, co-founder of Vestiaire Collective.

Does Gucci offer refunds?

Yes, Gucci offers a full refund for both online and in-store purchases within 30 days. The brand's website states, "The return window for an online purchase is 30 days - ten days for beauty products or corporate gifts - from the delivery date, while the window for in-store returns is 14 days."

The policy differs for the Gucci Outlet store, which only offers an exchange policy. Items purchased at the Gucci Outlet can't be refunded, so if you exchange an item that is less expensive than your original purchase, you will have to buy something else to make up the difference, or lose your money.

The policy for individual retailers who stock Gucci should be checked before purchasing. 

Can you return Gucci items bought during the Cyber Monday sale?

As Gucci itself does not participate in Black Friday or Cyber Monday, any Gucci deals that will be available will be from a series of different retailers and all will have their own individual returns policies on items bought over this period. Many stores also insist on items being returned via the method of purchase. That means if you bought an item online, this is often the way item has to be returned. You may also need to return it with all the original packaging and make sure not to remove any labels until you are certain you want to keep your item. It is always best to check the terms and conditions for returns on each site that you are looking to make a purchase on before buying.

Top tips for finding the best Gucci Cyber Monday deals in 2023

• Shop around: While Gucci usually doesn't launch an official sale, other retailers stocking the brand have in previous years. Sales often start earlier than official launch dates, particularly when it comes to Black Friday or Cyber Monday, so you can start checking prior to Black Friday, up to a couple of weeks before even. If you see a product you like, be a savvy shopper and check if there's a better discount at another retailer. 
• Focus on key categories: When it comes to Gucci deals, you'll find the steepest price cuts on accessories, eyewear, fragrances, and bags. With womenswear, you can find premium pieces, like dresses, elsewhere for less. However, if you've had your eye on something all season and can find at least three things in your wardrobe to wear with it, there is nothing wrong with a treat.
• Research the retailer you're shopping from: When you find the Gucci piece you're after for a discounted price, be sure to check the retailer's shipping costs, delivery times, and returns policy, as it can vary greatly and high shipping costs can bump up the overall cost. 

What Gucci products were in the Cyber Monday sale last year?

Last year saw some the biggest discounts across the board on Gucci on Cyber Monday, with prices slashed further on clothing, accessories, and fragrance across retailers. In the US, discounts reached up to 80% off.

As a photography editor in my last role, I know better than most that analogue photography is having a real moment right now – and Instax cameras lead the way in the instant cameras that are a big part of that. How much could I save on Instax cameras over Black Friday

Of course, every year the retailers' offerings are different, but you can typically expect to save on a range of Instax cameras – with the biggest savings often to be found on the pricier models.

My top deals picks from 2024 were an Instax Mini 12 Instant Camera Bundle at Argos, including an attractive case and film, reduced to £89.99. This is only £10 more than you'd usually pay for the camera on its own, so was a substantial saving (the bundle is £129.99 at full price, or 44% more). The already budget-friendly Instax Mini 12 on its own was discounted by £10 across multiple retailers.

There was also a whopping 38%, or £60, off the Canon Zoemini S2. As explained above, this one isn't technically an Instax camera but it does everything that an Instax does, with Canon photo and print quality and the option to save shots to a micro SD card, so I think it's a great buy, especially at such a tempting price point.

We saw moderate discounts of around 15% off the Instax Mini 40, the Instax Square SQ40, and the Instax Wide 400.

How long will the Oliver Bonas Black Friday sale last? 

The Oliver Bonas Black Friday sale is currently happening on selected items. It is likely to continue until Black Friday officially begins tomorrow (29th November). Oliver Bonas will run more deals on their products – though we don't yet have confirmation on what the deals will be. Most retailers' Black Friday sales – such as The White Company Black Friday sale, and the Le Creuset Black Friday deals – will run until the end of the Monday after Black Friday. which is dubbed 'Cyber Monday'.

We expect that Oliver Bonas will do the same if their 2023 sale is anything to go by. As soon as we hear more about the next wave of discounts at the retailer, we'll be sure to let you know right here – so bookmark this page for the latest information.

What is the Oliver Bonas returns policy?

In the UK, shoppers can return Oliver Bonas purchases within 30 days of purchase, or within 30 days of receiving an online order.

For Christmas, the returns policy has been extended: any orders placed between 1st November and 24th December 2024, with proof of purchase and in their original condition, can be returned until 31st January 2025, either online or in-store. What Dyson products were in the sale last year?

Last year, we saw discounts on the majority of Dyson’s products, from cordless vacuums to hair tools and air purifiers, fans and more.

In both regions, Dyson itself offered impressive discounts of up to £100 and $220 on its vacuums, air care and hair stylers, and with free gifts available such as presentation cases for the Dyson Supersonic and charging docks for the cordless vacuums, you could nab an even better saving. But it wasn’t just Dyson slashing prices: we saw up to £170 off on cordless vacuums at Littlewoods in the UK, as well as huge savings such as $200 off on a Dyson V10 Absolute at Walmart in the US.

We also saw rare discounts on the brand’s ever-popular hair styling tools, such as the Dyson Corrale, which is one of the best hair straighteners for thick hair, and limited-edition versions of the Dyson Supersonic. The Dyson Airwrap had £130 off in the UK, which, considering the coveted styler has an RRP of almost £500, is not a saving to be taken lightly.

When it came to air treatment products, we were happy to see incredible deals with up to $220 off at Dyson itself, on a popular tower fan/air purifier. In fact, air purifiers and fans from the brand saw the biggest discounts across the range, with savings being around the $200 mark when you shopped straight from the retailer.

Top tips for shopping the Dyson Cyber Monday sales in 2023

• Sign up to newsletters. It’s worth signing up to the newsletter on the Dyson site to ensure that you’re one of the first to know when new deals drop. We expect the deals to be as popular as ever, so you’ll want to be ready to shop the discounted products.
• Don’t wait around! While we did see some great offers on Dyson in the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales last year, we also noticed that plenty of products went out of stock by the Monday. This means that although you may spot an even bigger reduction in price on Cyber Monday or throughout the Cyber Weekend, there’s no guarantee the stock will still be around, so we’d advise snapping up a deal quickly on Black Friday.
• Always check the RRP. When shopping Dyson Cyber Monday deals that aren’t offered by Dyson itself, be sure to double check the actual RRP of the item on the Dyson site. Some sites may inflate the RRP when offering Dyson deals, to make it look as though the discount offered is much better than it actually is. Make sure you know the product’s RRP and that the new price is actually worth shopping. In general, Dyson do price match the deals offered by other stockists, so the Dyson site itself is always a good place to start for money off.

What to buy in the Dyson Cyber Monday sales

If you're planning your sales shopping but aren't sure what you might actually want to purchase, it's worth considering the brand's entire offering, and how each product category might suit you.

• Dyson vacuum cleaners: Over the years, the Dyson brand name has become synonymous with quality vacuum cleaners, so if there's one thing to look out for in the Dyson Black Friday sales, it's one one of the iconic cleaning machines. Often, these are subject to the biggest discounts during shopping events like Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day, so if you're in the market for a new vacuum and like Dyson's offering, it really is worth purchasing one during the deals. You might unnecessarily pay an extra £150-£100 if you don't!
• Dyson hair tools: A few years ago the brand launched its now-cult hair dryer, the Dyson Supersonic. It has since become one of the most popular hair dryers on the market for all types of hair. Its popularity led to the release of the brand's all-in-one styling tool, the Dyson Airwrap, which is one of w&h's best hair straightener brushes. As mentioned, these items are very rarely on offer, so if you do happen to spot a deal, we'd seriously suggest picking it up. They are absolutely a pricey option, but can offer fantastic results if you are willing to make an investment.
• Dyson fans/air purifiers: If there's one home gadget that has become a sure-fire status symbol, it's a Dyson fan/air purifier. These look sleek in the house, emit cool air without the rumbly noise of a traditional fan, can purify the air, or act as a dehumidifier if your space tends to get a little damp. You can also get fans/air purifier that offer both cool and heat options to keep you comfortable throughout the year. Like the vacuums, these fans/air purifiers tend to see fantastic discounts during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so it's one of the best times to snap these items up if you've already decided you want to buy one.

Does Dyson accept returns?

Yes - if you find you're not happy with a Dyson product you've bought online, outside of shopping events you can return the machine for a full refund within 30 days of the delivery date. Dyson will cover the cost of return shipping, which is a big bonus, as this isn't a given with many retailers at the moment. You can also return the item in-store if you wish, although this may be a bit trickier given that there are only 200 physical Dyson stores across the world! 

It's worth noting that refurbished Dyson products, or products purchased from the Dyson outlet, cannot be returned, unless they arrive damaged or faulty.

Is it worth paying for Dyson?

Whether or not to invest in a Dyson product is a personal decision and will likely depend on your own budget and priorities. W&h beauty editor Aleesha Badkar owns a few Dyson products and says each of them leaves something to be desired.

"Ever since it launched in 2018, the Airwrap has been one of the most coveted hair tools in the industry. No exaggeration. 'Is the Airwrap worth it?' is probably the beauty question I get asked the most. Personally? I would say no," Badkar says. "While I love how easy it is to use, the comfort of the weight and the addition of so many different attachments, the strength of the air is just not enough for my naturally thick and curly hair." On the other hand, Badkar says the Corrale straightens her long, thick, frizzy hair like no other, only taking 10 minutes. 

Badkar also owns one of Dyson's fans and says is great aesthetically and has amazing functions to carry you through multiple seasons, but it could use more power. 

"The fans are great. Super sleek, streamlined to fit into small spaces, smart features like a breeze or a full blast, 360 oscillation and a sleep mode - but again, like the Airwrap, the power is the problem. Double the power that it emits, and it would be perfect. Fine for spring, autumn and winter months, but will definitely leave you wanting in the hotter months of the year," Badkar says.

And if you're wondering about the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, beauty editors Jessica Beech and Rhiannon Derbyshire say the hair dryer is worth every penny.

"I have thick, naturally curly hair that I have to battle with to get a sleek finish, but I always feel like the Dyson is on my side of the fight," Beech says. "It makes it easy to smooth out curls and kinks without using extreme temperatures - which means less damage. It’s also impressively lightweight, so I never end a blow-dry feeling like I’ve had a workout."

What should I buy from LELO?

 My favourite thing about LELO, and the LELO Cyber Monday sale in particular, is that there's truly something for everyone, from small and simple vibrators to multi-use pleasure toys with every function under the sun, which means there are is plenty of choice.
