There’s a particular kind of glow that comes from feeling good in your own skin - not filtered, not “done”, just genuinely comfortable going bare-faced. It’s the sort of result most of us invest years into our skincare routines for - which is why it’s always worth paying attention when someone who’s spent decades in the public eye, camera-ready under studio lighting, says they’ve finally found something that actually works.

Debbie McGee has never been one for invasive tweakments - Botox and fillers, she says, always scared her. But at 67, the former Strictly finalist has finally found a treatment she’s happy to shout about, and the results have been enough to send her makeup bag into early retirement.

Taking this into consideration, you'll be pleased to know that the once-limited-edition scent is making its long-awaited and permanent return, debuting in the UK as part of the core collection from 16th June.

If you're wondering exactly what Lily and Yuzu smells like, think of a fresh, sparkling and coastal-inspired scent, inspired by sun-drenched landscapes, cloudless skies and blue water.

More specifically, the scent opens with vibrantly refreshing notes of yuzu, green apple and bergamot, before unveiling a green, floral heart of matcha, bamboo and jasmine. Once dried down, the scent takes a warm, musky, floral edge with its notes of lily, musk, amber and cedar.

Amal's hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos, posted to Instagram, dubbing the look a 'bell bottom haircut' thanks to its 70s-esque flared edges. In the caption, Giannetos notes: "I wanted to complete the look on her hair with something timeless, chic, but at the same time make it bold! While bobs are incredibly chic (and very trendy right now), they are not without their drawbacks, as their length can make switching up styles a bit of a challenge. Thankfully, Myleene Klass has a simple solution for quickly adding interest and shape to your cropped strands.

If you're struggling to secure your short hair into any kind of bun and so on, have a go with curving out the ends instead.

The beauty of this cute bell-bottom-esque bob is also its versatility. It will work for daytime just as well as it will for an evening or more formal outing. You can even make the flicks look more dramatic, but personally, we like how natural the Klass' look here.

If you have naturally straight hair or prefer to style it that way, you need only run your straighteners over the ends, turning them out slightly to create the flicked effect. For those with curly or wavy hair, you may need to blow-dry your hair straight first, followed by a smoothing hot brush or using straighteners throughout your hair, before creating the bell-like shape. Even still, though, this last step is straightforward and as we can see, very stylish. Gone are the days of short bob regrets and awkward regrowth stages, as Emily Blunt's collarbone 'lob' offers the best of both worlds: a stylish cut, but enough length still to play with.

If you've perused the 2026 hair trends lately, you'll know that bobs, in all their iterations - from banged bobs to tousled French-inspired cuts, like the Riviera bob - are still very much in demand, especially with summer on the way. Do facial exercises actually work?

The short answer is: yes, with consistency. The muscles in our face, just like the muscles in our body, respond to targeted movement. Over time, regularly working the facial muscles can help to improve tone and definition, while targeted massage strokes boost circulation and lymphatic drainage - which goes a long way towards that bright, sculpted look we're all chasing.

The neck, in particular, tends to be one of the first places we notice the signs of ageing, and one of the most overlooked in our routines. Incorporating neck releases alongside facial toning moves means you're addressing the full picture, rather than just the face in isolation.

What chemical exfoliant should I be using?

If you were to browse in any beauty store, you might notice that many bottles of exfoliants are often labelled with tricky-to-understand abbreviations, but as Dr Tego explains: "There are three types you need to know about." Before you invest in an exfoliator, it's important to learn what each one means and which is best suited to your skin type.

For those who battle dullness and pigmentation, Dr Tego recommends the first of the three chemical exfoliants on the market, she notes: "AHAs, like glycolic and lactic acid, are water-soluble. They work on the surface, breaking down dead skin cells [and are] wonderful for pigmentation and dull skin. One of my top picks is the Paula's Choice Mandelic and Lactic Acid Exfoliant."

Alternatively, those with oily, combination or blemish-prone skin may be better suited to BHAs as they work on congestion, as Dr Tego suggests: "Next, we have BHAs, like salicylic acid. These are oil soluble, meaning they can get into the pore and decongest from the inside. Two favourite products here, the Medicube Zero Pore Pads and the Obagi Clenziderm Pore Therapy Toner."

Lastly, if your complexion is more on the sensitive, reactive side, you might want to turn your attention to a PHA exfoliant, Dr Tego advises: "Finally, we have PHAs, these are like the gentler cousins of your AHAs. Same exfoliating benefits, but they're much gentler, so great for sensitive skin. I adore Medik8's Press and Glow Tonic for this. If you're reaching for a sheet mask packed with actives like retinol, that's where she pumps the brakes hard.

"When you find a sheet mask with an active, like a retinol, this is a red flag," she says, "because the format of the product doesn't match the ingredient." Applying a potent active under occlusion - essentially sealing it against your skin - can cause unnecessary irritation, especially in sensitive areas. Her advice: save sheet masks for what they do best, which is a cooling and/or hydrating treat, and leave the serious actives to your serums and creams where you can actually control the application.

2. Makeup wipes

This one might sting a little, but Dr. Idriss isn't a fan of daily makeup wipes. The operative word is daily - she acknowledges they have a time and a place (think: the emergency pack by your bed for those nights when washing your face feels like climbing Everest), but as a regular part of your routine, they're not doing you any favours.

The issue is the physical dragging motion. Dr. Idriss described it as trying to clean an orange covered in foundation by rubbing a wipe across its surface - you're just pushing the product around, not actually removing it from the pores. Regular use can also disrupt the skin barrier, leading to irritation and sensitivity over time. Her suggestion is to keep a pack for SOS moments only, and use a proper cleanser the rest of the time.

She noted that she has seen patients use them on their faces with the intention of getting rid of dead skin cells, but the reality is that the abrasion can do more damage than good.

The good news is that you don't have to give up exfoliation entirely. Dr. Idriss recommends chemical exfoliants - think AHAs and BHAs - as a far gentler, more effective alternative that works with your skin rather than against it.

4. Collagen-labelled creams

The word "collagen" on a moisturiser can be a very appealing selling point. Who wouldn't want to slap on a cream and replenish their skin's collagen? Here's the science reality check though: topical collagen molecules are simply too large to penetrate the skin and rebuild anything from the inside.

Dr. Idriss held up an example during the podcast - a well-known collagen gel moisturiser - and was clear that while it was a perfectly lovely hydrating product, the "collagen" label was misleading. "The word 'collagen' on this moisturiser makes people think that it's going to help them replenish their collagen," she said. "But it's a hydrating moisturiser. It's not going to replenish your collagen." The takeaway: a good moisturiser is absolutely worth having - just don't pay a premium for the collagen promise on the label. That's marketing, not science.

Dr. Idriss's broader red flag - and arguably the most useful filter you can apply next time you're scrolling through your favourite beauty shopping website - is anything that promises you a transformation overnight. From miracle serums to "glow in 24 hours" tonics, the skincare industry is full of products leaning hard on the instant gratification angle.

Her take is refreshingly straightforward: real, lasting improvement to your skin happens over time, through consistency and a simple, well-chosen routine. A gentle cleanser, a good face moisturiser, and one of the best facial sunscreens every single day will always outperform a shelf full of quick-fix products. When a brand is shouting about instant results, Dr. Idriss says, that should be your cue to slow down and question what you're actually buying.

From adding a golden shimmer to your décolletage to evening out the skin on your arms and legs, body makeup is the quick and easy step you may be overlooking in your summertime prep - and Lisa Snowdon has shared her go-tos that are sure to get you glowing.

The best fake tans are usually the default for a sunkissed glow, but if you're looking for something quicker and easier to remove, body makeup is the way to go. Taking to Instagram, Lisa shared a carousel of pictures showing her wearing a lovely, multi-coloured floral dress, with perfectly styled hair and radiant skin, before filling us in on the 'tricks of the trade' for achieving such a flattering and radiant look in the caption. Which turns out to be three simple products, each under £35...

What are these tricks, we hear you ask? Snowdon credits, "a good bra and body make-up." Along with an array of popular fake tans, St Tropez also offer a rinse-off body bronzer, which delivers a glow and tint to your skin that is smudge-proof and water-resistant. Again, a great option for the summer months and spontaneous outings where you want your skin to look even and luminous, but don't have the time for a full-body fake tanning session.

As for applying your chosen body makeup, Snowdon recommends applying it "over your body moisturiser, with a mitt or better still a brush to buff the product in." As well as their Body Blur, Vita Liberata also make a contoured tanning brush for this very purpose, which Snowdon might be referring to.

The latest AI beauty trend sees users submitting close-up photographs to a chatbot and requesting a "dermatologist-style" analysis for advice on the best hyaluronic acid serums or to narrow down the best face moisturiser for them. The results arrive complete with magnified call-out bubbles picking apart pores, fine lines and texture, alongside a personalised list of product recommendations.

It might sound like a savvy, high-tech shortcut to better skin, something that feels, on the surface, like a clever and convenient way to get expert-sounding guidance from the comfort of your own home, but leading Consultant Dermatologist Dr Anjali Mahto, founder of London clinic Self London, says the reality is far more troubling.

"Social media filters were damaging enough by giving us an impossible, poreless ideal to strive for," says Dr Mahto. "But this new ChatGPT trend takes the danger to an entirely new level. It isn't just smoothing over reality; it is actively pathologising normal human skin."

The trend involves users treating a chatbot as a substitute for professional medical advice, something Dr Mahto says is fundamentally flawed. Unlike a trained dermatologist, AI has no ability to clinically examine your skin, take a medical history, or account for the complex, individual factors that influence skin health. What it can do, she argues, is make you feel worse about yourself.

"By using AI to draw magnified circles around pores, fine lines and microscopic texture, we are triggering an extreme, unhealthy hyperawareness in consumers," she explains. "Pores are a biological necessity, not a flaw to be 'fixed' by an AI-recommended serum. Minor texture is normal. When we allow a chatbot to clinically dissect our selfies, we aren't just getting bad skincare advice; we are fuelling a modern epidemic of skin-focused anxiety and body dysmorphia."

As a dermatologist who treats genuine skin conditions - including acne, rosacea and severe pigmentation - Dr Mahto is well placed to judge what constitutes a real skin concern versus the kind of entirely normal characteristics that AI is now framing as problems to be solved.

She is also clear that the issue isn't simply one of vanity. Turning to a chatbot for what amounts to medical advice carries real clinical risks.

What to do instead

For those who find private dermatology appointments out of reach financially, she has a more reassuring alternative: "Your first port of call should be your local high-street pharmacist. They are highly trained healthcare professionals who can clinically assess minor skin complaints and recommend effective, evidence-based pharmacy staples." For online research, she recommends the NHS website or the British Association of Dermatologists patient hub - both of which offer free, rigorously verified guidance - over any AI tool.

The message from Dr Mahto is clear - your skin doesn't need an AI audit, it needs a little more kindness, and a lot less scrutiny.

1. Section the hair into rows as you curl

When it comes to styling a bob, Douglas recommends sectioning the hair horizontally from the hair at the nape of your neck and working towards the crown of your head to ensure you don't miss any strands. The hairstylist explains: “We've done one row, another row, probably three rows, and that's it, we're done.”

2. Curl away from your face and leave the ends out

"The first thing I'm going to use is called the MDLondon Curl, and what we're going to do here is wrap this one in particular forwards," advises Douglas, while curling one strand in front of the ear towards the face, before curling the rest of the locks away from the face.

"The one [strand] in front of the ear goes forward, and everything else will go backwards, explains Douglas. "As for how many times you wrap the hair around the wand, Michael adds: "You can see what we're doing there, we've wrapped around literally one and a half times, leave the ends out. There's two different reasons for that. One, it creates just a very modern feel, but the other thing is you maintain the shape of the bob."

To create a tight and defined curl, the hairstylist also recommends we "bring it lower", meaning to bring the wand lower down the strand of hair, towards the roots.

For those using a hair straightener, Douglas recommends pointing the tool upwards before curling away from the face: “Now, if you're doing this yourself, I would have a tendency to have the iron going upwards like this, right? So you put the iron in, it's going up, and then I would curl away from the face and pull down.”

3. Finish with a texturising spray

As the pièce de résistance to the hairstyle, Douglas recommends finishing with a spritz of texturising spray: "We've now got all this lovely movement and texture in the hair. Then I would use texturising spray. [It] is really good and it creates this really lovely messy kind of texture."
