You can genuinely save money on these products, according to Grace, who says they are the underdog of Amazon Prime Day. "There are so many offers on leading brands, so people can customise their savings to suit them, opting for their favourite supplement and medication brands rather than making compromises to save on cost. These savings don't come around very often at all and are not seen on other retailers to the same degree."

Boring garden essentials

"I've only considered buying functional items this Prime Day - things that I'd buy anyway, but also things I have to buy regardless. I bought a tonne (literally) of topsoil for the garden, and some biodegradable coconut scourers. Rock and roll," says Lauren Scott, from our Audience Development team.

"It's a life essential - who doesn't need that much topsoil?! In reality, it's an item I had to buy anyway for the garden, and I shopped around to buy it from somewhere that had good customer reviews, a smooth and speedy delivery process, and good product reviews. It's going to bring long-term joy and help me on my journey to transforming the back garden. It's going to provide a base for new lawns. It's wildlife and pet-friendly."

L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Foam is on Managing Editor Ella Taylor's mind this Prime Day. "It's a gentle cleanser with a lovely foaming action; lightly scented and vegan, plus L'Occitane says it's a natural alternative to retinol," she says.

"I love this gentle yet effective cleansing foam, and have done ever since someone bought me a L'Occitane gift set for Christmas several years ago! It's fairly expensive by my standards, so I like to keep an eye out for discounts and stock up when they appear."

Beauty Editor Fiona McKim's Prime Day must-have is a tube of Raybalm lip balm. "I actually already own one of these - or I should say, owned - but it's somehow escaped my bag (I blame the toddler) and I've realised I can't be without it," she says.

"So, I've chucked another one in my Prime basket, seeing as it's now under a fiver, along with some sticker activity books for an upcoming flight (toddler, again). SPF lip balm sounds a bit 'extra', but actually, everyone should use one. Nowhere on your face is more susceptible to UVB-induced burning or UVA-induced ageing than the thin skin on your lips. Plus, my pout always gets so parched and uncomfy during heatwaves or holidays. It's a very small investment for protected, hydrated, happy lips, plus it's totally clear, apart from a flattering sheen, and smells like summery citrus."

A game-changing beauty buy

"I'm a beauty junkie and have tried a couple of different retinals, but my sister and I are obsessed with Medik8 Crystal Retinal Eye Serum and now have a tradition to stock up on it during all sales," says our Commerce Analyst Samaira Raja.

What I love most about these finds is the price point, with all of them costing less than £25. They're a testament to the fact that elevating your home doesn't need to break the bank. And even better news – a few of my top picks are currently on offer.

1. Cordless lamp

This small rechargeable lamp has quickly become one of my favourite Amazon finds — not just because it looks so good on my coffee table, but because I can move it anywhere. It’s the first cordless lamp I've purchased and it's been a gamechanger. I take it with me whenever I want soft, ambient lighting, be it a bath in the evening or out on the balcony after sunset.

Right now, I’ve got it sitting on a stack of books on the coffee table, and it gives off just the right amount of glow. I’ve also used it on the dining table when we’re eating late and want the space to feel a bit more atmospheric.

The brushed brass-style finish gives it a slightly vintage look, and to say it cost less than £25, it’s had more impact than some of the full-size lamps I’ve bought in the past. It’s a simple swap, but one that’s made my home feel more cosy and elevated.

2. Beaded curtain ties

Beaded curtain tiebacks might not sound like a transformative home upgrade, but they've made a surprisingly big impact on my living room. They instantly add a bit of softness and charm to the space — and at just £7.99, they look far more expensive than they actually are.

I don’t have a matching set of tumblers (yet), but even solo, the decanter elevates the counter in a way that feels low-effort but high impact. It's been one of my favourite Amazon budget buys for transforming the kitchen.

Swapping out a standard light shade for a woven wicker design has been one of the easiest upgrades I’ve made. For £20, I got two shades in this gorgeous woven material, which I've added to the bedroom and the hallway. They add warmth and texture, and cast a gentle, dappled light in the evenings.

Adding a light shade in a natural material is an easy way to make a bedroom more cosy, but it's especially perfect if you're a fan of coastal-inspired interiors, like the Amalfi decor trend.

5. Wooden hangers

Wooden hangers aren’t the kind of upgrade most people will ever notice, they’re tucked away behind wardrobe doors, after all, but they’ve probably made the biggest difference to how I feel in my home. I swapped out my mismatched plastic hangers for a full set of slim, natural wood ones, and now every time I open the wardrobe, it feels calmer, more organised, and much more luxurious.

After organising my wardrobe using IKEA's space-saving solutions, I felt inspired to upgrade, and I couldn't be happier with the result. The hangers themselves are sturdy, with a natural wood finish that looks a lot more expensive than it is – a set of 20 came in at under £15. They also help clothes hang better, and I haven't had anything fall off the hangers since using them.

It’s rumoured that Biotulin Supreme Skin Gel is a staple in the skincare regime of the Princess of Wales. I put it to the test on my 49-year-old face to see if the hype holds up – and while I’m usually the first to hunt out a bargain and hate spending a fortune on skincare, I would gladly buy this again at full price.

Let me be honest: I never normally spend a lot of money on skincare. Maybe it's something to do with being a 40-something mum – I’m much more likely to shell out for new tyres for my 19-year-old’s car or pop some emergency cash into my 20-year-old university student's bank account than I am to splurge on a fancy cream for my face.

Or maybe it's an age thing. I don't mind spending a little on a brilliant night cream in a bid to make my bedtime routine as relaxing as possible – after all, insomnia and night sweats can make bedtime a lot less appealing than it used to be. • My Initial Thoughts: I'll admit I was highly sceptical. I even joked to my husband that I’d look like HRH within three days.

As a shopping editor, I've written about dozens of Amazon sale events for the better part of a decade, so you can trust me when I say that the Amazon Spring Sale is well worth checking out, especiually if you're in the market for popular household appliances such as the best dehumidifiers and the best stand mixers. You can also expect deals on women's clothing and footwear, but if health and wellness are more your bag, the Amazon Spring Sale is also an excellent opportunity to grab some bargains on fitness gear and wearable tech, such as the best fitbits. When it Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is for Prime members only, and takes place this year on 16th and 17th July. There are some amazing deals to be found on tech, beauty, fashion and more.

As a pet owner, this Amazon find is the only thing that keeps my carpets hair-free – despite owning a Dyson. While there's no doubt the powerful vacuum excels in most areas my stair runner is frequently covered in lint and pet hair that only this tool seems to uncover.

I'd seen adverts on shopping channels and thought it was merely a gimmick until my Mum ordered a pair, and I saw the results first-hand. After watching how incredibly effective the Amazon carpet lint scraper is at removing pet hair from carpets, I just knew I'd never be without it when cleaning my home.

Even if you're using one of the best vacuums if you have pets it can feel like your carpets are never hair-free. I have a Dyson that offers incredible cleaning but on stubborn areas like my stairs, I still have an issue with fine lint and tiny hairs that build up due to having my beloved whippet.

Whether you're at home alone, upstairs in the bath, or away on holiday, it's nice to have some reassurance on who's knocking at your door.

There are a few Ring doorbells and devices and a lot that you'll want to know before buying a smart doorbell, but Aleesha. Beauty eCommerce Editor picked out the best of the bunch. "We have a busy house of people coming and going and working different hours - and between running a family catering business from home and me always testing beauty products, we don't go a day without at least a handful of deliveries coming through," Aleesha says.

"The Ring doorbell is probably our most useful piece of home tech. With an easy-to-use app that shows our doorbell as well as other Ring security cameras we have dotted around the outside of the house, it's convenient to use, sends useful alerts and saves a history - which can sometimes make for interesting watching."

"It's small and unassuming on the front of the house, and the sleek black and silver design makes for a chic-looking exterior. For an added layer of security, you can also get it with Ring branded stickers and/or a sign to signal that your home is protected by cameras. Whether we need to answer virtually and give instructions for a delivery, or just screen before answering in case the work-from-home attire isn't up to scratch, it's a device we couldn't go a day without."

2. For the things that vanish into thin air

Apple's Air Tag surprised me. It's the second home tech piece on the list, because when I asked the team what home tech they use the most (and recommend the highest), this was by far the most popular recommendation. Tamara, our Head of Lifestyle, uses it to track her beautiful dog. She loves the air tag, praising the design for being "really lightweight and far smaller than those bulky trackers."

Aside from dog-tracking, we had Luisa (social media editor), using hers to track her purse and handbag; Heidi using hers to keep an eye on her mum (and her mum's handbag); as well as people popping these in luggage on holiday, on a bike in London (the place where they seem to vanish) and my parents keep theirs in the car, so we never walk around a parking lot wondering where we decided to leave the car. The possibilities on offer with an air tag are seemingly endless.

They're on sale individually, but you can bulk buy a pack of four for 30% off and hand them out as gifts to your loved ones. That was my brother's trick last year.

3. Your right-hand home assistant

I you want a second-brain that will play music, set timers, and remind you of birthdays, a home assistant is a smart accessory to have around. It's hands-free and hassle free. When I asked the team for their favourites, I found myself debating between Google, Apple, and Amazon's models. However, in the end, Amazon won.

Emily, Digital Homes Writer made the winning case for hers. "Since buying my Amazon Alexa Echo Dot a few years ago I have literally been unable to live without it. I've moved a few times and it's always the first thing I set up in my room and the last thing I'll pack away."

She says "I use it daily for music, weather checking, alarm setting and even random questions that pop into my mind. I'm not really a tech savvy person but I've found it so easy to use, set-up and troubleshoot if there's ever been problems with it. I've even found myself going to say 'Alexa...' when I've been away from home, maybe I'm a little too reliant on it!"

4. Turning up (and down) the heat

If you're anything like me, you’ve probably found yourself wrapped in a blanket one minute and flinging open a window the next. It doesn't have to be because of the weather, it might be down to your hormones or what's going on at home. Whatever the reason, this is a place where the Honeywell Home Thermostat thrives.

There was once I time when the Google Nest took this spot, but since Google announced that they wouldn't be updating the systems, we wanted a thermostat that wouldn't only be manually controlled going forward: enter the Honeywell Home Thermostat.

5. For the home cinema

I don’t usually lead the charge in my home when it comes to big tech purchases. I’m far more likely to be comparing duvet togs or reorganising my spice drawer. But this little projector has changed everything. Suddenly my bedroom transformed into a cosy mini-cinema, complete with Great British Bake Off viewings in bed and whimsical projections on the ceiling for those nights in when you just want your room to feel like a spa or a sky observatory.

One of the reasons I adore it is that you no longer need a hulking great TV dominating your bedroom décor. Instead, the wall simply (and very instantly) comes to life when you’re in the mood to watch something: Netflix, YouTube, BBC iPlayer. And then it disappears when you’re not. It feels like a luxury: a little everyday indulgence that makes staying in infinitely more fun.

6. A clean sweep of the floors

This last recommendation is one of mine. Whilst there are lots of things you'll wish you knew before buying a robot vacuum, the main one I want to share is this: they're brilliant.

They don't suit everyone, but if you think vacuuming feels like one of those chores that just never ends, the Shark Robot Vacuum in particular might just be your new best friend. It gets on with the job while you do literally anything else, whether that’s popping out for a walk, putting your feet up with a cuppa, or tackling your to-do list.

Amy Cutmore, a home tech expert, has shared her top tips for shopping Amazon on Amazon to make sure that you pick up the best price for your tech. Here's what she has to say.

1. Make a shopping list – and stick to it

My first long-standing rule when it comes to any sale is to avoid impulse buys by making a shopping list. Because, in reality, you're only making a true saving if the item was an absolute essential in the first place. Otherwise, you are probably spending money you didn't need to spend.

In the case of Amazon shopping you can do this easily by creating a wish list in your account.

If you have your heart set on a particular model, say of vacuum cleaner, it could be a good idea to pop each iteration of that model into your basket, so you can make a quick call when any deal goes live. For example, Shark vacuum cleaners often come in different 'bundles' with extra tools and battery packs. Some may or may not be discounted, or some might have better discounts than others.

2. Research prices

Now you have your list, have a scout about online to see what price Amazon other retailers are selling the item for now. When a deal goes live, check again to see if other retailers have price matched or out-discounted Amazon's deal, so you can be sure that you're really getting a bargain.

You may decide that if the product is price matched, you may prefer to buy from another retailer because it offers a better guarantee, installation, or a more convenient in-store returns service.

You could also use a price comparison tool, such as PriceRunner or Idealo, to check prices, but don't assume they'll check all retailers or catch all deals. For tech, make sure you check against all the big names – AO.com, Argos, Currys and John Lewis.

For Amazon shoppers, the free Amazon price tracker CamelCamelCamel is an essential tool. Enter the Amazon URL or the name of the product you are looking to buy, and you'll be given a graph that shows the price history of that product on Amazon.

For example, the Amazon Echo Dot Kids (5th edition, 2022), has a current selling price of £64.99, but we can see that from November 19th 2023 through to the end of the Black Friday sales period, it was reduced in price to £26.99 – something we expect to see replicated, or hopefully bettered, and one sale (hopefully).

3. Don't dawdle

Usually, when shopping, I'd advise anyone to give themselves a 24-hour cooling off period before making a purchase. Pop the item in your basket, wait a day, and if you still really want it, then click to buy. An advantage of this is that some retailers may see you have an item in your basket and then send you an extra discount code by email to entice you into making a purchase - it's happened to this writer at least half a dozen times.

BUT on Amazon's sale events, I'd advise against this. If you are CONVINCED you've got the best deal available, buy straight away or you could miss out. This happened to me last year on a vacuum cleaner deal, and it took a while to get over it.

'Lightning Deals' especially, might only last between three and 12 hours or while stock lasts, which can be a very short time frame indeed. And even deals that are said to last the duration of Amazon's sale events might end early if stocks run out.

So if you're happy you're getting the best price, strike while the iron is hot.

Of course, there's plenty more home technology to explore, but I don't like to complicate things. I think these six are a great place to start and then if you want to leap into the realms of fancier technology, by all means do. Maybe you can write the seventh item in this article.

Sometimes the smallest of tweaks can have the most transformative outcomes, as I recently discovered when organising my kitchen. I bought nine savvy items that have completely changed how I use my space – for the better.

After doing the juicer vs blender research and deciding that the juice life was for me, I trawled Amazon for the best deals and came across this marvellous machine. 

It's super easy to clean as it only has a few parts which can be dismantled easily and after a few scrubs with the cleaning brush (included) fruit and veg residue is gone. I found juicing to be a great way to include extra vitamins in our diet and consume celery, carrots, and spinach daily now, as they are much more palatable in juice form with a dash of lime and ginger.

Then, there's Kindle Unlimited. Essentially, Kindle Unlimited is a subscription service. You pay £9.49 a month to have access to over three million eBooks, audiobooks, comics, and magazines. It's a good deal if you're a speed reader.

When is the best time to buy a Kindle?

The best time to buy a Kindle is during Amazon sale events, such as Prime Day or Black Friday. Amazon hosts multiple sale events throughout the year and this is the time when the RRP of all of their Kindles will be slashed by the most. Amazon have historically been the most ruthless retailer when it comes to Kindle deals and discounts.

It's nearly Amazon Prime Day now. The one in last July saw some of the lowest prices recorded on the retail giant's bestselling e-readers. Offers landed again in October for the brand's Prime Big Deals Days, with almost every model selling out on day one. Shortly after this, Amazon launched new iterations of most of these Kindle models. As it doesn't launch new Kindles every year, I'd be surprised if they take such a ruthless 'everything must go'-type approach to Kindle prices next Prime Day.

Are Kindles cheapest over Prime Day or Black Friday?

Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2024 are now over for another year (Black Friday will next fall on 28 November and Cyber Monday on 1 December 2025, if you were wondering). Amazon's Black Friday sale began on 21 November, and saw surprisingly good savings on even the newest Kindle models that had just been released in October, such as 26% off the All-new Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2024.

The prices were consistent from the early Black Friday sales start of 21 November right through to Cyber Monday on 2 December. Both Amazon and third-party retailers offered the same prices on Kindles, though not every retailer stocked every model, and many offered their own spin such as bonus loyalty scheme points, free gifts, trade-in credit or extra discounts on other sale items.

Over Amazon Prime Day, we saw a full £100 off the premium Kindle Scribe, then over Black Friday we found a massive £125 off the model. As mentioned, other retailers also get in on the action over Black Friday, so prices are typically lower then and incentives to shop at each store (such as free gifts) higher.

What's a good price for a Kindle?

Even at full price, some of Amazon's Kindles are great value. The original Kindle (RRP £94.99) and the Paperwhite (RRP £159.99) are both competitively priced within the e-reader market – despite the fact that the new 2024 versions are each £10 more expensive than previous iterations were. However, after years of watching the Kindle sales and deal prices, I've seen the original Kindle for sale as cheap as £35. There's no guarantee that it'll return to that price.

Generally, anything above 20% off the original RRP is a deal worth considering. However, it's also worth having a look at price comparison or price history sites. I have an add-on called CamelCamelCamel that shows you the history of prices for any product on Amazon, so you can know whether you're getting a good deal relative to the recent offers that have been around.

Are Kindles worth it?

You might think that we're all Kindle converts at woman&home, since we have such comprehensive coverage of all the Kindle models, but we're a well-balanced team.

Some of us refuse to relinquish our paperbacks, because, let's face it, nothing smells quite like a printed page and nothing feels the same as cracking the spine of a paperback. However, there is a group of us who recognise Kindles for their practicalities. You can pack endless books into your carry-on luggage if you take a slim Kindle with you. Plus, you can enlarge the text (bye-bye reading glasses), backlight the page (hello late-night reading), and look up the definitions of words in just a moment. They're both practical and savvy, so Kindles certainly serve a purpose compared to books.

In the broader market, Kindles are some of the best e-readers out there. Amazon have had nearly 20 years to refine their tablets, offering the sleekest, smartest set-up out there. Their library is the most vast, the reading experience is the most seamless, and the technology is the speediest. Kindles have models tailored to every kind of bookworm.

Should I buy a Kindle with or without ads?

You'll see different storage options for most Kindle models as well as an option to buy the Kindle with or without ads. I've been on both sides of the table and, I actually don't think there's much point in buying one of the models without ads. Sometimes, the adverts can be useful.

When you buy an ad-supported Kindle, your e-reader will show you ads on the lock screen when you turn the device off. This doesn't use up any more of your battery and, they can actually be quite useful for finding recommendations. It's a bit like watching the trailers of other films when you're at the cinema. If you're into it, you can have some fun. Plus, if you hate the ads, there are ways to disable them, they're just a little tedious.

How I tested them

I’ve been using portable fans daily for over two years now – often multiple times a day during summer and during hot flushes.

For this update, I focused on:

• Battery life (does it last through a commute or workday?)
• Versatility (can I use it in different places – desk, bed, garden?)

1. Clip-On Bladeless Fan – best for hands-free cooling

The most recent addition to my handheld fan collection, this is the one I’ve been using most recently, especially when I’m travelling. On packed trains into London, where it feels like everyone is slowly overheating together, this little clip-on fan has been a genuine game-changer.

It clips onto clothing so you stay completely hands-free, which is exactly what I need when I’m juggling bags, phones, and trying not to melt into the seat.

It’s quiet enough for public transport and small enough to fit into even a tiny handbag. It won’t blast you with industrial-strength air, but it creates a steady, cooling breeze that genuinely takes the edge off.

I’ve also found it useful at my desk on warmer days, especially when I don’t want anything bulky taking up space.

It's not the most discreet of items, but it's lightweight and only has the slightest pull on my clothes if I place it at my neckline. On the waistband of any bottoms, it securely fixes without pulling. I regularly get asked by overheating passengers on the train where it is from.

When testing the battery, it fell a little short of six hours on the middle power option, and was fully charged again within the stated 90 minutes. I really like that this is compatible with my USB-C iPhone charger, as it means I don't need extra charging stations or more wires around the house.

2. JSdoin handheld and neck fan – best all-rounder

This is the fan I didn’t expect to rate as highly as I do. It’s affordable, reliable, and surprisingly powerful for the price.

What I didn’t expect to love is the neck-hanging option. I assumed it would be awkward, but it’s actually one of the most practical features. I can wear it while doing housework, working, or even walking in the heat.

Being able to angle airflow directly at my face while keeping both hands free makes it incredibly useful during hot flushes.

It also lasts impressively well on a charge, which makes it ideal for long days out.

If I had to pick just one “do everything” fan, it would probably be this.

I also really like the digital display on this handheld fan; it makes it really easy to see how much battery is left, when it is fully charged and what speed/setting it is on. It has two more speed options than other fans on this list, and they all have enough weight behind them to keep you cool. Of the four I tried, this one was the quietest, which was also a surprise considering there are two others with smaller blades.

It also held up in my battery test. I placed them all on full pelt and left them running for three hours straight. The box promises 8-15 hours worth of use, so I would have been surprised had it stopped, but it was still firing away, with no sign of slowing.

The only downside to this is its size. When it comes to portability, it's the second biggest and took up a fair bit of room in my bag. But its other features outweighed this for me – a great little fan, at a bargain price.

3. Gaiatop mini – best for handbags

This is the fan I barely think about – and that’s exactly why I like it.

It’s so small and light that it disappears into my handbag, which makes it perfect for “just in case” moments. Hot flush on the bus? Heat building while shopping? Stuck in a stuffy café? It comes out instantly.

The battery test, which saw this running at top speed for three hours straight, definitely put a dent in this one. I could see the difference in the power it was throwing out, but there was still enough to provide a very refreshing breeze.

There are no frills or unique features here, but if you want a powerful, discreet fan with decent battery life and really convenient to carry around, this one is hard to beat.

It’s not the quietest, and it doesn’t have fancy features, but it wins purely on convenience. I almost always have it with me.

A cheap, no-fuss option for instant cooling on the go.

4. EasyAcc handheld fan – most powerful airflow

If you want raw cooling power, this is the one.

The airflow is noticeably stronger than the others – almost like a mini desk fan you can hold. I use this one at home or at my desk when I need serious relief quickly.

The trade-off is noise and size. It’s not subtle, and I wouldn’t use it on a quiet train or in a meeting. But for home working or short bursts of heat relief, it’s incredibly effective.

Much like the Gaiatop handheld fan above, this is a very simple, no-frills fan, which does what it's meant to well. If you want a handheld fan to be really powerful, or are after an alternative to an electric desk fan, this Easyacc model is definitely worth considering.

5. JISULife 3-in-1 fan – best multi-tasker

This one earns its place not just as a fan, but because it doubles as a power bank and torch. Brilliant.

The fan itself is decent rather than exceptional, but the added features make it useful for travel, emergencies, or long days out. I’ve used it in situations where my phone battery was low, and I still needed cooling – which is exactly the kind of multitasking you appreciate in a heatwave.

The design is adjustable, so it can standalone, and it folds away, making it very portable - it would easily fit in most pockets.

But it's surprisingly noisy for such a small device. And the open/closing method is really fiddly. Luckily, there are two methods, so if you don't have nails that will fit in the frankly tiny gap between the cover and main body to pull it open, you can push it from the base to make it pop open.

The company claims the longest battery power on this list – up to 21 hours. When testing them all for three hours on full speed – granted it's nowhere near that length of time – but it was still going strong, with no sign of it losing any power after that time.

If you have a little extra to spend and you want a completely hands-free option, our ecommerce editor, Heidi Scrimgeour, really rates this hands-free fan on Amazon too. And while not quite under £20, it's not that much more.

"I wouldn't be without my wearable fan now. I keep it on my desk, so I’m always ready for the next heatwave - there always seems to be one around the corner," Heidi says. "You pop it around the back of your neck like a pair of headphones, and it’s so light and comfortable to wear that I genuinely forget it's there."

This version has five speed settings, dual air inlets, and multiple air outlets, which basically means powerful, efficient cooling without the drama of windblown or tangled hair, so it's perfect for staying cool at work, even on video calls. "It's quick and easy to charge," Heidi adds. "I love that I don't have to worry about changing batteries - and after a 3–4 hour charge you get all-day use.

The cooling hack I always return to

I heard a simple trick in the office this week that genuinely works when the heat feels overwhelming:

It might not be where you think you'll find the latest denim trends, but when it comes to Amazon, there isn’t much that you can’t get delivered to your door at lightning speed. Upping its style game in recent years, Amazon has been working hard to carve itself out a place in the fashion landscape and with many of us already signed up to Amazon Prime, using this perk to buy the best jeans on Amazon means speedy delivery, at no extra cost.

Amazon stocks some of the most high-quality (and most popular!) jeans on the market, with brands such as Levi jeans, 7 For All Mankind and Wrangler available in a multitude of styles. It goes without saying that these jeans are of a high calibre. But what are the hallmarks to look out for when it comes to top-notch denim? "When looking for a good high-quality pair of jeans, one of the key things to look out for is the stitching," Megan Watkins, Head Stylist at online fashion destination SilkFred told us. "If the stitching isn't high-quality or cared about, it's likely that your jeans will fall apart quicker or have been made without the desired care and attention."

"You can tell if a jean is well made if it has a double-stitch or chain stitching. Double-stitching can be identified by two rows of stitches placed close together, whilst chain-stitching looks like a looped stitch, a bit like the links of a chain. However, if the jeans you love only have a single stitch this is fine too, just make sure it is with a thick thread."

Watkins continued, "You can also tell the quality of the jeans by the thickness of the denim. The general rule of thumb is that thick denim means better quality. I would also look out for the small details - are the zippers and buttons good quality? Do they look well-constructed and sturdy? These are all components to finding and identifying a high-quality pair of jeans."

When it comes to the shopping giant's jeans, Amazon’s Essentials range offers affordable jeans, that keep prices low, whilst listening to customer feedback to help fine-tune every detail, ensuring quality, fit, and comfort.

Fashion writer Molly Elizabeth Agnew suggests looking at the materials used on less expensive jeans to ensure you're getting a good quality pair. She explained, "With denim jeans, you want to be looking for the highest percentage of cotton possible cut with as little polyester or manmade material as possible."

However, Agnew also notes that there is always a risk with buying jeans online. She told us, "If you haven't seen and felt the product in person then you really have no clue what is going to end up on your doorstep, from quality to size." I asked Lucy Searle, our Content Director and a homes and interiors expert if a dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment: "I’m lucky enough to have a sizable laundry room, but it is windowless, with no heating. So, I've had a series of dehumidifiers over the years, which I've found not only at least halve the time needed to dry washing, but which banish that damp, musty smell and, to a degree, heat the room while they are running," she says.

"I've not only used my Meaco Arete (available here at Amazon) consistently throughout the winter for drying washing, I have also used it to dry out my car when it flooded, and my home office when we had a leaky roof. I'd highly recommend a dehumidifier, particularly if you don't want to spend out on a tumble dryer or if you don't have space for one."

As you would expect from an expert in dehumidifiers and hunting down home bargains, Lucy recommends you wait for sales to find the best bargains – the John Lewis sale being a trusted source for discounts.

What to look for when buying a dehumidifier

The key to shopping dehumidifier deals successfully is to shop for the best model for your space and purpose. For instance, if you're lucky enough to have a large laundry room, you'll have the luxury of choosing a larger appliance, while if you're searching with a worry of what size dehumidifier, you'll likely be looking for a far smaller model. The best dehumidifier for a bathroom might need to tackle odours, too while also being a dehumidifier that is good for drying clothes. Similarly, if you're shopping dehumidifier sales to dry out your home after a flood, you'll want the biggest, most powerful model you can afford.

How do you know you're getting a genuinely good dehumidifier deal?

One of the benefits of visiting a page like this is that I will be monitoring the prices of dehumidifiers throughout the year, even around now when it's close to the end of the year and dehumidifier prices are stubborn.

The main reason I continuously monitor prices is that some retailers will make dehumidifier deals and sales look incredible, with a large percentage taken off the RRP. However, if the dehumidifier was originally overpriced, you could still find a better discount or deal elsewhere.

As a rule, price cuts on dehumidifiers sit at around 20-40% off the original RRP, so if you see a dehumidifier deal that offers 50% off or more, you can be fairly sure it's a solid bargain. Before buying, check and compare the size, capacity and features of the dehumidifier. If you know you’re looking for a family-sized dehumidifier, and you see a deal that offers this for around £100 or less, you’d be lucky to snap up the deal before it ends.

When is the best time to get a dehumidifier deal?

Now that Black Friday is behind us, your next big sale event will be the Boxing Day and New Years sales.

Normally, I'd recommend buying them out of season, but we're about to be in peak demand for dehumidifiers, so sales like this are important to take advantage of.

Are Black Friday dehumidifier deals worth waiting for?

Black Friday is a brilliant time to nab a dehumidifier deal and, this year, I saw the Swan Dehumidifier reduced by 50% and nearly £200 off Wood's expert dehumidifier over the whole sale event. If you can wait until boxing day, there might be some savings to be had them.

Are Prime Day dehumidifier deals any good?

Amazon Prime Day is a great time to pick up a good dehumidifier deal, but the next Prime Day won't be until Easter time and, by then, you'll probably have dealt with your damp problems.

Are dehumidifiers cheaper on Cyber Monday?

Last year, the Cyber Monday deals were just as good as Black Friday's sales, with hundreds of pounds of Wood's, and Swan's models. The only downside was that stocks completely sold out of Meaco before we were through the weekend, so you're playing a risky game if you do choose to wait.

What is a good price for a dehumidifier?

Outside of sales, dehumidifiers range vastly in price, from as little as £40 for one that's around a litre/day in size, to around £100 for a 12 litre/day family-sized model, to £1,000s for industrial dehumidifier models (see them at Amazon) that are often sold, instead of by litre/day, by air volume or the room's square metreage.

Generally, you are paying for the capacity of the dehumidifier, measured in litres, and you'll need to work out damp levels versus the size of the room to make the right purchase. For example, mild dampness in a small space will be more easily solved than in a larger space.

As a rough guide for a small laundry room with wet washing to dry, look for a 7-litre dehumidifier; a larger laundry room, on the other hand, will benefit from a 12-litre model upwards.

Zara Tindall always struts with the most fab styles, and her most recent shirt dress, and box bag at Wimbledon 2023 was no exception.

The Tindalls (Zara and her husband Mike, that is) are known to be quite the pair of tennis fans. It only makes sense that the couple would make a stunning debut at Wimbledon this year, making their stylish entrance to the tournament on July 12, just as they did for Royal Ascot 2023 when Zara donned an exquisite lily-print dress.

What we were really enamored by, though, is her £325 ($422) box bag from Aspinal, with raffia accents and a brown leather exterior that perfectly matched her wedge heels.

"There isn’t much difference between them for practising yoga, but there is in terms of cushioning."
• How often will you use your mat? If you're planning to do yoga every day, it's best to invest in a durable mat that will last you for years to come (so one made of rubber or cork). Some popular foam mats need to be replaced every 300 - 400 sessions.
• Will you be travelling with your mat? I love to work out on the move, going from the studio to work and back home. If you plan to do the same, you'll want a travel-friendly mat made from a lightweight material. In this case, it's best to opt for foam over rubber, such as the BalanceFrom GoYoga+ All-Purpose 1/2-Inch Extra Thick Yoga Mat. You might also want to choose an option that comes with a carry strap or handle. "Generally, travel yoga mats are very thin and don’t provide much support, nor are they very comfortable to lie on," cautions Libby. But, as you generally won't be using the mat every day, it shouldn't be a problem.

Do I need a 4mm or 6mm yoga mat?

If you need a little extra joint support, opt for the 6mm yoga mat. If you intend to use your pick of the best yoga mats on Amazon during higher-intensity workouts, or you don't need the extra support, 4mm should be fine.

Generally, most yoga mats are around 4mm thick, but for some, a mat thicker than 4mm can feel too cushioned and cause them to lose their balance, especially if they're using the mat for other workouts such as HIIT, strength training or Pilates. In this case, there are even thinner mats available at 3mm or even 2mm and 1mm, although these are prone to ripping.

For those who want a little extra support, a 6mm thick yoga mat can provide more cushioning for joints, protecting hands, wrists, knees and feet. For those practising yin yoga or yoga nidra, 6mm mats can be more comfortable than a thinner mat. However, it's worth noting, thicker mats are usually heavier and, therefore, not as travel-friendly.

If you find a 6mm yoga mat still doesn't offer you enough support, you can buy yoga mats (many of them are featured on this list) up to 12mm. Alternatively, experiment with a knee pad which you can move around the mat to add extra cushioning where you need it most.

There's always a discount to be had when it comes to air fryers, but how do you know when you're getting the best air fryer deal possible? And how do you work out which is for you?

When is the best time to get an air fryer deal?

If you have a sale in the pipeline - Boxing Day, New Year, Black Friday, or Prime Day - that's your best bet for bagging a seriously good air fryer saving.

Whilst you're shopping, it's always worth researching refurbished models too. If you're shopping somewhere reputable (the brand themselves or eBay), these will be as good as new and a lot cheaper too.

Are Prime Day air fryer deals any good?

Prime Day is a wonderful opportunity to snag a saving on an air fryer, but you won't have one until the new year. If you're happy to wait, last year I saw yhe Instant 4-in-1 air fryer was reduced to £45 in the last sale and the famous Ninja air fryer had a full £70 off.

Are Black Friday air fryer deals worth waiting for?

Last Black Friday we saw some sensational discounts, including £100 off the iconic Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air fryer and the Instant 4-in-1 for half price. The next big air fryer sale will be on Boxing Day or in the New Year, so stick around. There are always savings to be had, but they're not always this good.

Are air fryers cheaper on Cyber Monday?

Last year, I saw deals some good Cyber Monday deals, including Ninja's Dual Drawer Air Fryerat the cheapest it's ever been on Argos. Air fryer deals are rarely better on Cyber Monday, but they're a great chance to pick up anything you might have missed in the Black Friday chaos, as long as stocks last.

What is a good price for an air fryer?

The standard, non-sale price of an air fryer ranges widely, from £40 to up to £200. What you'll pay largely depends on the capacity of the air fryer, usually measured in litres. A two-person household will be able to make do with up to 2 litres capacity; a family of four will need a 3-4 litre air fryer, while a five-to-six-person household will want one that's 5 litres or more.

You can buy a smaller air fryer for as little as £40. Models with a 3-4 litre capacity tend to come in at around £100, though Tower and PowerXL, available at Currys, amongst other brands, offer larger air fryers at around the £100 mark, too. Expect to pay more for higher-capacity air fryers and for the most sought-after brands, such as Ninja.

With all this in mind, you can see that getting a £200 air fryer for £100 during a sale, or a £100 air fryer for £50, could be considered a bargain.

How do you know you're getting a genuinely good air fryer deal?

One factor to be wary of when looking for air fryer deals is that just because it looks like there’s a large percentage taken off the RRP through the deal, if the fryer was originally overpriced, you could still get better bang for your buck elsewhere. In the past, we’ve generally seen deals on air fryers sit at around 20-40% off the original RRP, so if you see a deal that offers a discount of half price or more, you might want to snap it up.

It’s important to look at what’s being included in the deal, too, as well as the size, capacity and features of the fryer. If you know you’re looking for an extra-large air fryer, and you see a deal that offers this for less than £100, you’d be wise to get in on the deal before it goes.

When shopping for a vibrator, there are always a few things to bear in mind. That's why we test all of our products before reviewing them at woman&home, so you know the essentials to look out for before making your purchase.

Having taken part in many of the sex toy guides on woman&home, I've been testing vibrators for the last couple of years. I tested some new ones for this guide and saw whether classic favourites were also for sale on Amazon, giving each one a test based on various factors, from functionality to pricing.

These were the factors I considered:

• Functionality: Did the vibrator do what it said on the tin? There's nothing worse than an underwhelming purchase from Amazon, so we considered whether the vibrator lived up to its name, could comfortably and satisfyingly hit the main erogenous zones, and worked effectively from a mechanical basis.
• Materials: When it comes to buying sex toys, 100% pure silicone or medical-grade silicone, pyrex, stainless steel, hard plastics, body-safe and waterproof materials will always be better, so we filtered out the products to only include toys made of these materials.
• Brand: It’s also always better to opt for a sex toy brand you recognize rather than an unknown brand or a whitelabel product. This is because you can be far more certain of the product meeting a government-approved public health standard with a popular or known brand than one that only sells on Amazon.
• RRP: We all love a deal and Amazon is a great place to find discounts, especially on tech. However, when we were testing the best vibrators, we opted for the price target of $25 to avoid cheap products that could be ineffective, unsustainable, and harmful to your body.

How to choose the best vibrators on Amazon

• Consider what kind of vibrator you want: When you're considering what vibrator to buy on Amazon, think about the type of toy you want, as it can be a little overwhelming with all the choices out there. Before going into the buying process, consider what you want your toy to do. • Set a budget and stick to it: Price is also a vital factor when it comes to quality, so consider how much you're willing to spend on your new toy and stick to this budget. It can be very easy to get carried away with all the upcoming deals and spend more money than you originally wanted to.
• Read the reviews: One of the benefits of shopping for the best vibrators on Amazon is that you can often read thousands of reviews from genuine people who have tried the same product.
