Popular skincare brand CeraVe has been a skin saviour for many of us with dry, dull, and dehydrated skin - and has even turned things around for those with more oily and combination skin types.
The beloved US skincare brand came over to the UK a few years ago and has been constantly snapped up since - with their bestselling Hydrating Cleanser selling out consistently for its velvety texture and truly quenching ingredients.
As well as the addictively good cleanser, the range also boasts one of the best eye creams we’ve come across - with an Eye Repair Cream packed with hyaluronic acid to hydrate the delicate area and essential ceramides to reinforce the skin’s moisture barrier for a brightening and firming effect.
So naturally, we're forever on the lookout for any other star CeraVe products that we can add to our skincare routine, which is why it pretty much made our year when the brand’s first-ever serum came over to the UK this week.
CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum
The CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum is a serum with a twist that combines the hydrating powerhouse ingredient with creamy but lightweight emollients that are generally found in moisturisers to provide a heavier duty quenching serum.
Using CeraVe’s signature three essential ceramides to replenish skin and reinforce moisture barrier between the skin's different layers, the refreshing gel-cream hybrid nourishes skin leaving it with a plump and healthy finish. It also uses emollient glycerin for extra moisturisation and vitamin B5 to soothe and protect the skin.
“The concept of a serum is to deliver a high concentration of active ingredients into the skin,” says CeraVe Co-Founder Tom Allison. “Watery serums can prove tricky to apply and evenly distribute across the entire face. CeraVe Hyaluronic Acid Serum was designed with dermatologists, focusing on lightweight emollients for a creamy serum texture that will spread easily and evenly across the face to effectively lock in moisture for all-day hydration.”
The brand-consumer testing found that 91% of testers noticed an improvement in the hydration of their skin just 15 minutes after applying this, with skin remaining 20% more hydrated than usual after 24 hours.
