Bananas are inexpensive and you can buy them absolutely everywhere, which means they’re a fab choice for adding to your smoothie. They have a natural sweetness to them too, which means you won’t need to add in any additional sugar or honey to your smoothie.
This smoothie also uses blood orange juice which you can find in most supermarkets. You can just as easily use freshly squeezed blood orange juice, or if you can’t get your hands on blood oranges, you can use the regular kind. Blood oranges are really high in vitamin C. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and is required for a large number of metabolic functions in the human body, and can help repair tissues and ensuring healthy gums.
Another one of the health benefits of Vitamin C is that it aids in healing wounds and shows benefits on the adrenal gland function. Vitamin C is not produced by the human body and therefore must be produced by our diet. Get the most of your fruit and veg with our healthy breakfast smoothie recipe and start your morning off right.
