The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have left St Mary’s Hospital to take their newborn daughter back to Kensington Palace – where they will stay for two days, before the family of four move to Anmer Hall in Sandringham.
Catherine beamed from the steps of the Lindo Wing where she gave birth just 10 hours ago as the world’s press looked on. She carried the young Princess who was fast asleep in her arms swaddled in a white blanket. Prince William also looked overjoyed as he waved to well wishers on the hospital steps.
Here she is fast asleep and snuggled in her car seat.
The Duchess looked glowing in a floral Jenny Packham dress, and Prince William looked handsome in blue. Her stylist and hairdresser were both rumoured to be at the hospital earlier today.
Prince George popped by to meet his little sister earlier this evening but was taken back to Kensington Palace before the Duke and Duchess left St Mary’s.
The young family of four have now arrived home at Kensington Palace to start a new chapter.
George and his daddy wave to the crowds before the prince meets his sister for the very first time.
