Buckingham Palace responds to claims Harry and Meghan are planning to move to Africa
Harry and Meghan have recently moved to their new home, Frogmore Cottage, ahead of the arrival of the royal baby. But recent reports suggest that the couple may not be settling in Windsor for long...
It was reported in the Sunday Times that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to move to Africa for a 'major international job'.
They claimed that Prince Harry’s advisers were working on a ‘bespoke’ role for the 'royal rock stars’, combining some work on behalf of the Commonwealth withcharity work and a role promoting Britain.
“Discussions are at an early stage, but the plan is to find a new way of using their soft power abilities, most likely in Africa,” a source told the Sunday Times.
Sir David Manning, the former British ambassador to the US, is reportedly drawing up plans that could see the couple out of the UK for over two years.
Buckingham Palace have since responded to the claims, calling them "speculative".

A spokesperson told HELLO!,"Any future plans for the Duke and Duchess are speculative at this stage. No decisions have been taken about future roles.
"The Duke will continue to fulfil his role as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador."
Africa would be an unsurprising choice if the couple did decide to relocate, considering Harry's heavy involvement with Rhino Conservation Botswana, Sentebale, a mental health charity in Lesotho founded by the Prince, and various other charities in Africa.
It's a place close to the couple's heart, who travelled there together on their first holiday. Harry has previously said he is "incredibly fortunate" to call Africa his "second home".

It's been suggested that a move from London could help heal the apparent 'rift' between Harry and his brother William. It has been suggested that the brothers' relationship has become strained in recent years.
But - for now, at least - the couple's focus will be on the arrival of their first child. The birth of the royal baby looks set to be imminent after Meghan's mum, Doria, was spotted in London, presumably to be with her daughter when she goes into labour.
