We’re used to seeing TV presenting duo Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on our screens on a pretty regular basis, but it looks as though the couple could soon be preparing to embark on a brand new challenge together.
Reportedly, the couple are getting ready to front a brand new weekly show on Channel 5, which will see them interview celebrities and discuss real-life stories – according to The Sun.
The news has not yet been confirmed, but it’s said that the pair impressed bosses at the channel with their recent show, How The Other Half Live.
The name of the show is as yet undecided, given that it’s still reportedly in the early stages.
Allegedly, a TV insider told the publication, “Eamonn and Ruth are a top presenting team so it’s no surprise there’s plenty of interest from TV producers.
“The show is at the pilot stage but there’s confidence within Channel 5 that it will become a full series.
“It’s an exciting time.”
We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
The news comes just a week after it was announced that Eamonn would be receiving an OBE for his service to broadcasting, after over three decades in the industry.
Ruth delivered a heartfelt congratulations to her husband following the revelation, admitting that she was “so proud” that he work was being “recognised”.
On her Instagram, she wrote, “SO SO proud of my wonderful husband @eamonnholmes OBE!!! Wonderful to see his years of broadcasting recognised. Congratulations darling x x”.
The couple have now returned to their Friday This Morning presenting duties, after an extended period of time off over the Christmas holidays.
It’s thought that the pair spent their Christmas holidays at their home in Surrey, after Ruth posted a video of her and her mother out and about in the area.
On Christmas Day, Eamonn also revealed a little insight into the couple’s celebrations, writing on his Instagram, “Small joys of today include Lime & Pineapple marmalade, my #Dog opening her presents, Gene Kelly singing & dancing in the rain & this card. #Christmastime”
