Like so many people I’ve always been convinced that white jeans outfits firmly belong in spring/summer, but Alex Jones might just have changed my mind. The One Show presenter attended the one year anniversary of COME ALIVE! The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular wearing a pair of classic white straight leg jeans.

She transformed them into a more wintery look with the clever addition of a snuggly Zara cardigan and chocolate-brown ballet pumps. Both pieces are very affordable and the warm neutral hues contrasted against the white denim without overpowering it.

One of the main reasons white jeans can be tricky to wear in the colder months is that a lot of us have an array of jewel tones and dark colours in our autumn capsule wardrobe. These can look quite stark against bright white, so opting for brown and grey like Alex is a clever alternative.

Her £49.99 brushed effect cardigan has a sweeping V-neckline, relaxed silhouette and a pattern that falls somewhere between Argyll and Fair Isle. Both are very popular in winter and have a traditional feel to them that works with the cosy fabric.

Alex’s cardi incorporates a hint of white in the pattern alongside chocolate brown, though it’s primarily charcoal grey. She wore it fastened and draped over the top of her white jeans which helped make them more casual.

Compared to blue denim, white and black jeans with a uniform wash can feel a bit smarter. Because of this they work well for elevated date night outfits, though Alex Jones’s way of styling her white jeans is ideal for everyday.

She matched her shoes to the dark brown hues in her knitwear and went for leather ballet flats also from high-street favourite, Zara. These £39.99 beauties are a little different from conventional ballet pumps as they have an elasticated crossover strap.

This helps to keep your feet secure inside and they also have rounded toes. If you don’t mind wearing flats with visible socks you could easily add a pair for extra coverage in the winter, though on milder days or occasions where you’re primarily inside, they look best without.

The One Show host’s jeans finished just above her ankles, giving a great glimpse at her footwear. The length and the straight-leg shape of them also helped make the design more relaxed which is a factor worth considering if you’re trying to find your perfect white jeans.

Streamlined jeans would also work with a cardigan like Alex’s and can be tucked into the top of boots when it really does get too cold for ballet flats. She accessorised her look with gold earrings and a chunky bracelet cuff, as well as some shimmering crystals on her face to suit the atmosphere of the COME ALIVE! circus spectacular which is inspired by 2017’s The Greatest Showman film.

Minus the decoration, this outfit is something she could wear over and over again for many months to come. It looked as though Alex Jones had a white V-neck cami underneath on this occasion but a roll neck jumper would add extra coverage and look great too.

For a while it seemed like anyone who was anyone was styling leopard print pieces - from jeans to jumpers and accessories. It’s so versatile for such a statement pattern, but it’s not the only option that ticks these boxes. Zebra print is equally neutral, a bit different and Ranvir Singh has brought it to my attention.

The presenter wore a Zara co-ord to present ITV’s Lorraine on 19th August and revealed in her caption that it’s not her "usual look". However, she "trusted" her stylist Bronagh Webster and found the trousers and longline shirt to be "comfy and stylish".

The only other major thing I’d want from an outfit is affordability and the Zara co-ord nails this too. The safari shirt is £35.99 and the trousers are £29.99 making it £65.98 for the set and, of course, you don’t have to wear it as one every time.

Ranvir did wear the full co-ord and what really makes this stand out to woman&home’s Fashion Ecommerce Editor, Caroline Parr, were the colours.

"If you've reached your leopard print limit, or spots simply aren't for you, zebra stripes are a great idea. The colourway that Ranvir's rocking is that bit softer than harsh black and white, and the vertical stripes combined with the nipped-in tie waist belt make this co-ord very flattering," she explains.

Black and white zebra print is starker, but also beautiful if you want a full monochrome look. As Caroline says, though, Ranvir’s Zara co-ord with its chocolate brown and cream combination is a muted, warmer alternative that would also work with pretty much any other tone.

She adds, "The shirt would also work well paired with jeans, and the printed trousers are great for throwing on with a simple white tee in the last days of summer, too."

This is the beauty of a matching set, as the styling possibilities are extensive. If you’re not someone who has a lot of animal print items in your summer capsule wardrobe, a shirt or pair of trousers is an easy place to start. They can be mixed and matched with your staples and mean that only a small part of your outfit is actually patterned.

Ranvir Singh’s Zara shirt and trousers were billowy and lightweight which is great for the warm but grey weather we’ve been having. These kinds of drapey fabrics and silhouettes help to mellow out prints, as very fitted animal patterned pieces have the potential to be a bit too much for everyday wear and quite eveningwear-centric.

The broadcaster finished off her work look with white peep-toe heels. The neutral colour tied in with the cream stripes on her co-ord and if you’re coming up with summer or holiday outfit ideas focused on a set like this, I’d recommend taking a similar approach.

Picking shoes and bags that match one of the colours in your clothing adds a cohesive edge in moments. Gold jewellery and a turquoise beaded bracelet added extra glamour to Ranvir’s outfit and she showed it can be worth trying new things with your style.

Ranvir Singh has just blended high street items like a pro with her flattering short-sleeved co-ord from Zara and Mango heels.

When you want beautiful tailoring and affordable prices the high street is the place to head and Ranvir Singh has recently combined two of our favourite brands, Zara and Mango, to create what we think would make an exceptional date night outfit. The broadcaster was styled by the brilliant Bronagh Webster for ITV’s Lorraine on 14th March and wore a spring suit from Zara with Mango heels. The suit was a little different from the tailored pieces you might already have in your collection as the blazer had short sleeves and a scoop neckline.

This gave it more of a waistcoat-esque appearance and it worked so well as a top in its own right, but you could also easily wear it over a cami as an extra layer on cooler days. Ranvir’s £49.99 blazer has shoulder pads that give it a gorgeous structured shape and front flap pockets.

The short sleeves are also a wonderful detail and they cut off at a great point on the arm. They're slightly longer than capped sleeves and this style is incredibly flattering and gives more coverage than a strappy waistcoat or tailored top. The blazer fastens up the front like a cardigan with tortoiseshell buttons that bring a lovely amount of contrast against the blazer’s taupe colour.

As Ranvir herself said in her caption, this is a "lovely neutral tone" and earthy, stone colours like this are a big spring/summer fashion trend for 2025. We can see why they’re proving so popular as you don’t have to worry about potential colour clashes as they can work seamlessly with so many other shades.

Although we personally love a bright, bold suit look, it’s not for everyone and the broadcaster’s take on tailored co-ords is a lot more wearable day-to-day - and for different occasions.

She wore the blazer with the matching high-waisted suit trousers whilst working on Lorraine, but the designs meant that it didn’t feel too formal or corporate as an outfit. The scoop neckline of the blazer and lack of lapels makes the Zara suit feel more relaxed, as does the flared silhouette of the trousers. If we were styling this tailored outfit for more low-key occasions we’d pair the suit with our best white trainers or brown ballet flats or sandals.

However, for a more elevated look or an evening out, Ranvir Singh’s approach is perfect. She wore £45.99 Mango heels that were a cognac brown hue and about as timeless as it comes. They were stiletto court shoes with pointed toes that were just visible underneath her trousers.

There’s a reason that court shoes are one of the Royal Family’s go-to shoe styles too, as they’re smart and minimalist. The combination of the Zara co-ord and the Mango shoes was a sensational one and these two brands are often worn by Ranvir Singh. Back in February she wore a three-piece scarlet suit by Mango in honour of Valentine’s Day, showing how much she loves high street tailoring.

That's what the spring means for Alex Jones, who has long been a fan of second-hand shopping and finding vintage gems. She was up early this weekend to attend the Sunbury Antiques Market at Kempton Park Racecourse and if you're planning on doing the same, you're going to want to recreate her stunningly classic outfit that's ideal for keeping you warm and comfortable while also looking oh-so stylish.

Alex perfectly blended style with practicality for the overcast day, pairing the Cotton Traders Wide-Leg Jeans from her collaboration with the brand with a simple black top, whose high-sitting crew neckline and long sleeves offered some much-needed warmth.

The light wash denim of her jeans brought in a lovely pop of light, bright colour without being too bold or summery thanks to the heavy texture of the denim. And if you're looking for the perfect jeans for your body type, you can't go wrong with a pair of flattering wide leg ones like this pair - their high waist, relaxed fit and baggy shape meshes classic with contemporary perfectly for a versatile and universally flattering fit.

Switching out your darker denims for a lighter wash like this in the spring is a great way to start transitioning your wardrobe into the warmer months, but Alex proves that you don't have to ditch dark tones completely in order to feel spring-ready. She layered up in a, sadly now discontinued, khaki double breasted coat from Zara, with the rich green shade feeling decidedly spring-like. Khaki is a great way to incorporate a floral-adjacent colour at the beginning of the season and on a sophisticated coat like this, the shade oozes elegance and quiet luxury.

To finish off her look, Alex slipped into a pair of tanned brown boots. The colour is stunning, rich and warm and brings in a much softer, spring-like feel to the look than a pair of harsher black leather boots would have. But still, they have a sophisticated and classic flair thanks to their sleek silhouette, comfortable block heel and pointed toe, with the brown leather complimenting the light wash denim beautifully.

But not only did Alex give us the ultimate antique fair outfit inspiration, she also shared her top tips for shopping at these fairs too. Like she says in the video, it's easy to get carried away with collecting bargins at these kind of events, like when she brought 12 church pews without thinking about it and has ended up keeping them in storage because she has nowhere to put them, so some tips will certainly be handy.

Picking up a vintage tennis racket, she says, "Not essential," though she admits they would look good hanging on a wall. This is a good thing to keep in mind so you don't get carried away. What do you actually need in your home and what interior design trends will compliment what you already own? If you don't need it or have somewhere it can work, what you want to buy isn't an essential - so maybe put it back.

Another trick is to stick to your shopping list. Alex was at the fair looking for a chest of drawers and a table for her hallway, so keeping these in mind helped her avoid impulse purchases that she'd end up not having room for.

And that leads onto her third tip; measure! Bring a tape measure along with you and make sure you've also measured the space you're trying to fill in your home before heading out too. Trust us, your eyeball measurements will never be right!
