And while Brooklyn hit out at how his parents “controlled narratives” around the family and said they had tried to “ruin” his marriage to Nicola, Victoria has stated she has simply always tried to “protect” them as best she can.

“I feel that our children have had a very different upbringing to myself and David,” she said.

“The world is also a very different place now to what it was when they were younger. We’ve always tried to protect the children as much as we can. We’ve always been very close, communication is very key.

“You know, 6 o’clock at night, every night, at our house, so long as neither of us is travelling, we always eat dinner together. We’re quite a traditional family, more than people would recognise.”

Brooklyn is not believed to have seen or spoken to his family in more than a year, having failed to turn up to a number of big events - including David’s 50th birthday or his mum’s fashion shows - in the last year, and is reported to have asked they only communicate through lawyers.

She shared the parallels she feels between the work she did as Posh Spice and the work she’s doing now as an entrepreneur.

"The Spice Girls were about girl power, and for me, my north star is empowering women. It started through empowering women through music.

"Now, I want to make women feel strong and powerful and like the most beautiful versions of themselves.

Also during her interview at the summit, Victoria seemingly hinted at how she’s dealing with the ongoing fallout from her eldest son, Brooklyn, and her daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

After months of speculation about the estrangement, Brooklyn hit out at his family in damning social media posts at the start of 2026, accusing his mother of "hijacking" his wedding dance and declared, "I do not want to reconcile with my family".

When asked how she deals with her personal life making headlines, Victoria replied, "This has been happening since I was 20… I have an incredible husband who supports me enormously.

"We're always there for each other and I learned a long time ago not to listen to the noise, not focus on the noise."

They are the matriarchs of two of the most high-profile families in Britain. But behind the scenes, Palace sources say she has been a pillar of strength following the fall-out between her husband and brother-in-law - stoic, strong and determined to make sure her family are protected from external threats.

In many ways, this is something that could also be said about Victoria Beckham. She too has a vested interest in making sure bad situations don’t get worse in the face of an estranged family member making waves at every juncture.

As my source added, ‘They may occupy different spaces, but the gap between Harry and Meghan and Brooklyn and Nicola really isn’t that wide. It seems such a shame that relationships between couples seem to have taken such a grave toll on their respective families. Kate will know what Victoria is going through, and her subtle support for her is likely to continue, no matter what.’

After Brooklyn's blistering six-page post on Instagram, where the 26-year-old aspiring chef accused mum Victoria and dad David of trying to control him and ruin his marriage to billionaire heiress Nicola, the other side of the family has remained remarkably quiet.

Sources close to the Beckhams say that Brooklyn's brutal tirade has left devastated Victoria 'on her knees', Sir David and brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, 'furious', while 14-year-old sister Harper is 'heartbroken'.

The source reveals, "They are absolutely shell-shocked - the whole family are. It's a living nightmare for them to have it all played out so publicly. No one can see a way back from this for them to reconcile."

While the family have been left reeling at Brooklyn's damning accusations, a source says that David's mum Sandra has maintained a secret line of communication with him in the hope that one day a truce will be possible.

"Sandra and Brooklyn were always close, and throughout it all they have remained in contact. After the latest bombshell, Sandra is treading very carefully - and trying not to take sides too strongly as she doesn't want to risk Brooklyn breaking contact.

"Brooklyn's Instagram post has left his brothers fuming - but Harper and Brooklyn have always had a special relationship and Harper has been left bewildered and heartbroken by the latest turn of events."

The source adds, " Sandra is going to try and be the go-between for Harper and Brooklyn in the future if she can, but it's early days. She, like everyone in the family, is devastated by what her grandson has done but she's trying to keep the peace as best she can."

The 'inappropriate' dancing that sparked all the memes

The fall-out between Brooklyn and his parents is believed to have stemmed from his 2022 wedding to Nicola, 31. In his post, he accused Victoria, 51, of pulling out of designing a wedding dress "in the 11th hour" and claimed she called him "evil" for placing the couple's grandmothers, and not Victoria and David, at the top table.

Brooklyn's claims that Victoria "danced very inappropriately" on him at his wedding appear to be backed up by guest Stavros Agapiou, who posted (then deleted), "I was there and she did, he's telling the truth."

DJ Fat Tony, who played at the wedding, told This Morning the timing was "inappropriate" rather than the act itself.

He claimed Brooklyn was expecting to dance with Nicola, but singer Marc Anthony called VB to the stage, saying she was the most beautiful woman in the room.

"Brooklyn is stuck there on stage. Then they do this dance and Marc Anthony's going, 'Put your hands on your mother's hips.' It was a Latin thing. And the whole situation was very awkward for everyone in the room," he said.

As a result, Nicola left in tears, followed by her family. Brooklyn left straight after the dance, the DJ said, and a brunch the next day was sparsely attended due to the awkwardness.

More upset for the Beckhams

It's believed the only footage of the dance belongs to Brooklyn and Nicola, and while there are no plans to release it at present, the fact it exists could cause more upset for the Beckhams.

A book offer is also reported to be on the cards for Brooklyn and Nicola, with the pair being offered seven figures to write a tell-all - no doubt a huge worry for Team Beckham.

As well as accusing David of refusing to meet him and Nicola before David's 50th celebrations last year, Brooklyn hit out at the £500 million Brand Beckham machine, saying his family "values public promotion and endorsements above all else" and that "Family 'love' is decided by how much you post on social media."

In the week after the post, it seemed the British public were on Victoria and David's side, with an online campaign giving Vic her first No 1 single on the iTunes and Official charts.

Not Such an Innocent Girl, first released 25 years ago, soared to the top spot. There was also a Spice Girls reunion when Victoria, Mel C and Geri Halliwell-Horner celebrated Emma Bunton's 50th birthday the weekend after the post - sparking suggestions in the comments that a full tour could take place in the future.

Breaking free

However, it appears that the wider family does have sympathy for Brooklyn. A source close to them said, "Some of the family, particularly on David's side, can understand where Brooklyn is coming from."

"The Beckham brand is bigger than everything, and everyone, including the children, has been expected to make sacrifices and play ball. This hasn't always been easy, and while Brooklyn has obviously had a privileged upbringing, it has clearly come at a cost."

The source adds, "Although some members of the family are adamant that Nicola has turned Brooklyn against his parents, others feel that Brooklyn wanted to break from the Beckham brand bubble.

But being married to a billionaire heiress and not having to rely on your parents' money certainly helps."

And some celebrities have come out as Team Brooklyn, including Susannah Constantine, who wrote on Instagram, "For the record I'm #teambrooklyn #truelove... this young couple's love for each other is one of the few things that is real, deep and unmanufactured. Long live LOVE."

David's former Manchester United teammate John O'Kane also came out in support, writing, "I lived with Beckham for a few years. Let's just say he likes to be in TOTAL CONTROL and was OBSESSIVE on PERFECTION."

At the time of publishing, the Beckhams had yet to formally respond to Brooklyn's shocking claims, and sources say the family are bracing for more upset, with one revealing, "They fear retaliating too hard could just prompt Brooklyn to make even more public claims against them."

It seems that the latest scandal to rock the Beckhams may not be their last.

From taking to the stage and performing all over the world with the Spice Girls, to watching her fashion creations being showcased on the catwalk, a lot of her big life moments have played out in the public eye.

Her level of fame is so huge that she can rarely go anywhere without being photographed, yet Victoria is known for rarely smiling in snaps. Over the years this has garnered quite a lot of attention, but the designer has now bravely shared the real reason for it.

It might not be the answer fans were expecting, but in her eponymous new Netflix series, Victoria Beckham explained that a "barrier goes up" because she just doesn't "have the confidence".

In the first Victoria Beckham trailer she teared up admitting how she grew up "desperately" wanting to be liked and was "awkward" at school. Speaking now as a 51-year-old woman, Victoria movingly recalled a memory of being out with actor Eva Longoria and the attention they received from the paparazzi.

"I remember once going out with Eva and there were lots of paparazzi and Eva is walking along and not giving a shit, and throwing her head back and laughing - she doesn't care," she explained. "And I remember I wasn't even talking to her because I didn't want to be photographed."

Victoria shared that the minute she sees a camera she changes - "the barrier goes up, my armour goes on, and that's when, you know, the miserable cow that doesn't smile, that's when she comes out". She's "so conscious" of this and the narrative that surrounds it.

The designer added, "I don't like that, I'd rather not be that person. I'd love to have the confidence to walk out of a restaurant and smile or stand on a red carpet and smile, but I just can't do it."

It's all-too-easy to think that decades of media attention somehow means celebrities are immune to feelings of self-consciousness, shyness or anxiety in public. However, this is far from the case and Victoria Beckham's candid admission in her Netflix docuseries shines a light on this.

It serves as a powerful reminder for people that high-profile figures also have their own insecurities and vulnerabilities - and that not everyone is a fan of being photographed. Instead of berating Victoria for not smiling, we can put ourselves in her shoes and think of how daunting it must be to be followed by paparazzi so much.

From the outset, many of us will have expected Victoria Beckham’s eponymous Netflix docuseries to share new insights into her life and true character behind closed doors. However, the level of honesty and openness far surpassed anything we could have anticipated.

Her bravery in talking about her struggles with an eating disorder and constant criticism of her weight was especially poignant and deserves to be applauded. This marked the first time that Victoria Beckham has ever publicly discussed this deeply personal subject.

She said she began to "doubt herself" and described the appalling moment she was weighed on TV six months after welcoming her first child in 1999.

"I was weighed on national television when Brooklyn was 6 months old. Get on those scales on TV - have you lost the weight? And we laugh and joke about it on TV but I was really, really young and that hurts," she shared.

David Beckham went on to tell viewers how at that time people "felt it was ok to criticise a woman for her weight" and because of all the comments she received, Victoria admitted she "really started to doubt [herself] and not like [herself]".

She went on, "I didn’t know what I saw when I looked in the mirror, was I fat, was I thin? I don’t know, you lose all sense of reality. I was just very critical of myself, I didn’t like what I saw. I’ve been everything from porky posh to skinny posh, I mean, you know, it’s been a lot. And that's hard. I had no control over what was being written about me, pictures that were being taken and I suppose I wanted to control that."

Victoria shared she could "control it with the clothing" and "control [her] weight" too.

"When you have an eating disorder, you become very good at lying, and I was never honest about it with my parents, I never talked about it publicly. It really affects you when you’re being told constantly you’re not good enough, and I suppose that’s been with me my whole life," she said.

The thought that she was "never honest" about her eating disorder with her own parents hits home hard. There is unfortunately still a huge amount of shame and stigma that all-too-often surrounds them and leaves people feeling unable to reach out or confide in even their loved ones.

"Eating disorders, while unfortunately all too common, are often very secretive illnesses. It’s common for people to hide them for a variety of reasons: shame, stigma or they may simply not realise they’re unwell. However, it’s incredibly important that they do speak out - recovery is always possible, and getting the right treatment as quickly as possible gives them the best chance at it,” says Tom Quinn, Beat’s Director of External Affairs.

He explains, "The more people in the public eye who open up about their experiences, the better. It can really help to break the stigma and encourage people to seek treatment for their illness. Victoria Beckham is one of those figures that many of us probably have formed an idea of in our heads - but her new Netflix documentary is here to flip the script on what we thought we knew. The platform has just dropped the first trailer for the new Victoria Beckham documentary, due to release on 9th October.

It's no surprise it's already got everyone talking, but the subject of said discussions, we have to admit, is not what we were expecting. The short teaser includes some candid clips of Victoria opening up, and some shocking admissions about her childhood that definitely took us by surprise.

"That un-cool kid at school, that's awkward, that was me," she candidly revealed. "But I desperately wanted to be liked, have a sense of worth. Fashion was this creative outlet."

The honest admission seems a world away from what many people, including us, might well have always presumed is an extremely confident fashionista. But showing there are more sides to her than that "miserable cow who never smiles" was clearly the point. "I do, don't be shocked", she says, before proving her point and beaming.

The designer and former Spice Girl also posed the trailer on her personal Instagram account, where she went into more detail about what she hopes people will take away from the new eponymous series.

She declared, "I think there’s real strength in vulnerability, and that’s really what this documentary is about from the Spice Girls, to the highs and the inevitable lows that have shaped me along the way."

The designer added, "I have never forgotten where I came from…. I’m so excited to give people a glimpse behind the scenes of the businesses I’ve been building for the past two decades and celebrate the remarkable people who bring it all to life. I’m endlessly thankful for them and excited for all that’s still to come.”

The three-part documentary focuses on various aspects of her life, but this first drop trailer focuses primarily on her journey from pop star to fashion mogul.

Talking about the move, Victoria, who wore a gorgeous Astrid & Miyu bracelet in the promo pictures, goes some way to explaining how difficult it was, how so many doubted her ability, how it put her "millions in the red", and becomes visibly emotional when saying, "it has taken so long to get to this point".

Family also clearly means the world to her, as Victoria goes on to reflect in the closing stages of the trailer on how she wants her "kids and David to be proud" of her.

Clips of family holidays also shone a light on the real Victoria and she had another tearful moment as husband David Beckham made it clear in no uncertain terms that he will always be exceptionally proud of her achievements.

"You could make a cheese and ham toasted sandwich and we'd be proud of you," he said, to which she replied, "Let's be honest, I couldn't actually make a cheese sandwich very well."

Although small, this comment once again highlights Victoria's sense of humour; that she's not afraid to poke fun at herself despite what some might think.

Directed by Nadia Hallgren and from the makers of the Emmy Award–winning Beckham documentary, this series is set to peel back the curtain and give an intriguing look at her life and career.

Kudos to Netflix and the editing of this piece as the 95 second trailer is enough to make anyone - Victoria Beckham fan or not - want to see more.

Tomato red is one of the biggest autumn/winter fashion colour trends 2025, and although I am excited to try it, I don't think I'm a head-to-toe red kind of gal. Thankfully, I came across this photo of Victoria Beckham whilst looking for inspiration on how to incorporate a hint of scarlet into my autumn wardrobe, and I didn't just add it to my moodboard; it became my moodboard for the season.

Camel tailoring and red knitwear is a colour combination that Victoria has turned to before, but incorporating the colour palette into a jeans outfit has to be the chicest way to do it. Pictured in New York back in 2017, VB teamed a pair of blue straight-leg jeans with a camel-coloured roll neck knit (one of her own designs, naturally!) and some striking red heels by Manolo Blahnik.

In a break from her usual thrifty ensembles, Kate proudly sported a £1,340 trouser suit designed by the pop star-turned-fashionista Victoria Beckham. The Princess of Wales teamed the smart two-piece olive-green suit with a statement blouse as she attended the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.

It almost feels like Posh and Kate taking on Meghan in a way that is hard to respond to but says a thousand words. Yet it is not an approach we have seen very often from the Firm. ‘Never complain, never explain’ is their usual mantra, but I can’t help feeling that the Prince and Princess of Wales have finally reached their limit.

After the latest attack from Prince Harry following his court appeal recently, it is perhaps their only way of expressing how angry they are. A subliminal message that, of course, was never going to go unnoticed.

This also came at the same time that reports claimed Prince Harry and Meghan were "secretly supporting" Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and his wife Nicola due to their "similar family feuds", with comparisons having been drawn by the media between Brooklyn and Harry’s partners appearing to cause a divide with their families.

One newspaper reported that Nicola and Meghan had had a "deep and meaningful" chat and share a bond after being labelled as "homewreckers" and women who "tear apart their husbands’ families". And it has been claimed that Brooklyn and Nicola have had "unwavering support" from the Sussexes, who are reportedly "empathetic" towards them amid the younger couple’s tensions with David and Victoria.

Though Victoria seems keen to smooth things over, tagging Brooklyn in an Instagram post of a family photo showing all her children and the words, "We both love you all so much." The arguably unlikely partnership between the couples is just more evidence of a royal rift that looks likely never to be resolved.

Harry might want to come back, but his actions have caused a divide that seems irreparable.

It’s possible that they were the £420 Julia jeans which have a straight leg silhouette and, if so, this is a great alternative jeans shape if you’re not a fan of white skinny jeans. Once you’ve found the best jeans for your body type you tend to stick with what you know but anyone who’s never tried straight leg jeans before is missing out on comfort.

They’re more tapered than wide leg jeans which makes them feel more polished and slightly more formal, but the looser fit over your legs is great when you want to be comfortable. Whatever style of jeans you’re most drawn to, Victoria Beckham made the most of the bright white shade of hers by keeping the rest of her outfit to a darker colour palette and we've seen her do this before with white jeans.

The designer wore a black jumper tucked loosely into her jeans and from the look of the neckline, it seems as though it has a collar. This would make it a polo shirt design and the slouchy sleeves and large cuffs made this look especially cosy. The stark contrast of the black jumper and white jeans had so much impact without resorting to wearing patterns or vivid colours.

Victoria’s style shows how striking monochrome outfits can be and they are also some of the easiest to wear because any other shade will work alongside them. She bridged the gap between the dark and light tones slightly by accessorising with what seems to be a chocolate brown belt with a gold-toned buckle. She is now just a few months away from celebrating her 51st birthday and we suspect that these incredibly candid reflections have continued to stick with her over the past few years. They certainly seemed to still be important to her as she turned 50 last year as Victoria told The Times that ageing just "is what it is" and she harboured no reservations about her milestone birthday.

"I’m excited about the future," she said, revealing that she was planning to celebrate her 50th with a “family dinner” and that she’d once received a very valuable piece of advice from fellow designer Marc Jacobs.

Victoria explained, "The thing with ageing is that it is what it is. I always remember Marc Jacobs saying to me when he turned 60 that it was better than the alternative of not turning 60. It’s good advice! But generally I feel good about things. I have better opportunities now than I did when I was younger."
