"One thing about the Queen is she has to manage being a grandmother but also how it affects the wider institution," a royal insider told PEOPLE Royals.

“If Harry asks, the Queen would say yes,” a friend of the royal told the outlet. “She adores him.”

It's clear that the Queen and Prince Harry have a special bond, which we saw displayed when Harry asked his grandmother to join him for a playful video to promote Harry’s Invictus Games back in 2016. As one of the Queen's grandchildren, it's not surprising they're close. But this particular incident shows the pair also have the same sense of humor. 

In an intimate setting complete with a cozy floral sofa in Windsor Castle, Prince Harry shows grandmother Queen Elizabeth II a video of then-President Barack Obama and then-First Lady Michelle Obama teasing him about the upcoming Invictus Games and claiming they were set to win big. 

This is accompanied by a 'boom' from one of the surrounding servicemen, to which the Queen replies full of disdain, "Boom? Really? Please."

“Six years later, it’s clear there are few, if any, members of the Queen’s extended family who would have the confidence and the humor to ask the Queen to take part in such a stunt,” PEOPLE writes. 

“Harry’s doing so underlined both the respect between him and his grandmother and her willingness to show a different side of herself for him—in front of the world.”

Prince Harry's special relationship with the Queen has been documented before. Harry revealed, in an interview with Hoda Kotb, his close bond with the Queen as he discussed their 'special relationship.'

When asked by the interviewer what the best thing about his grandmother is, the Prince replied, "Her sense of humor. Her ability to see the humor in so many different things."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left their $14 million Santa Barbara mansion and visited the Netherlands earlier this year in April to host the Invictus Games and support the players across the globe. 

While attending this international event to support Prince Harry, the founder of the Invictus Games, Meghan Markle found time to visit one of the many nonprofit organizations that she supports.

Project Fearless is an organization that strives to support young women and provide them with a solid foundation that will help them succeed in business in later life. The nonprofit is currently celebrating its three-year anniversary since its founding of the business and posted some images to reflect on its important third year.

The caption of a post read, "Today is the day! Project Fearless is officially 3 years old! 🎉To celebrate, we’ve been counting down our top 3 milestones from the last 3 Fearless years… and today's milestone is extra special."

The post then discussed the Duchess of Sussex's important visit and her role as a guest coach during their first entrepreneurship course. "Earlier this year, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex joined our first Entrepreneurship course as a guest coach! During her visit, she gave the girls inspiring and encouraging feedback on their sustainable business pitches, and enthusiastically joined in with a group exercise on facing fears," said the founders.

The unseen images of Meghan Markle show that the Duchess engaged in different activities with the girls by speaking with them directly and listening to them talk during group discussions about their ideas and concerns.

The Duchess herself also released a comment about the company's important work. "Safe, supportive spaces like Project Fearless allow girls the opportunity to express themselves, build each other up, gain resilience, and tackle new challenges,” said Meghan.

The brand revealed that since 2019 when the program first began, the number of young women and girls being helped by the organization has grown from 30 to 747. 

This is just one of the many women-focused charities that Meghan has worked to help since stepping back as a senior member of the Royal Family.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle held a 'perfunctory meeting' with Prince Charles over the Platinum Jubilee that failed to deliver the results they had been 'hoping for', according to a royal insider. 

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly visited the Prince of Wales's private residence, Clarence House, during their recent trip to the UK for the 70th anniversary of the Queen's reign, where they hoped to reach a 'rapprochement' with their British relatives after more than two years of familial conflict. 

It's now been said that the A-list couple, who withdrew as senior members of the Royal Family and emigrated to the US in early 2020, were left disappointed by the private catch-up with the future King. 

"Well, I understand that it was a perfunctory meeting and that there was no real breakthrough," Christopher Andersen told Royally US. The 'Brothers and Wives' author added that Harry had been "hoping for some sort of rapprochement" but received "no touchy-feely vibes coming back in his direction." 

The blow comes shortly after it was revealed that Meghan and Harry also had a secret meeting with the Queen at Windsor Castle ahead of the Invictus Games in April, in an attempt to extend an 'olive branch' to the Royal Family and finally reach a permanent reconciliation. It's understood that the couple also met Charles during their short stay in Britain, before flying to The Hague in the Netherlands for their first continental European engagement since the pandemic began. 

The 73-year-old was reportedly 'happy' to spend time with his youngest son and daughter-in-law, having not seen them in person together since 2019. 

However, Andersen claims that their second meeting this summer wasn't so friendly. Despite the Sussexes' hopes that Prince Charles would be sympathetic to their circumstances, it appears that the eldest of the Queen's children had no intention of reciprocating their positive energy. 

"I think the curtain has come down," Andersen said. "And one of the things I think is so sad about this is Diana, were she alive today, would be heartbroken by this."

Although Meghan Markle's animated series Pearl was ditched by Netflix before it even began production, it's clear that relationships have far from soured between the Sussexes and the streaming giant.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix documentary Heart of Invictus, which followed the Invictus Games, is already in production. However, it may be eclipsed by this, “at-home with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex-style,” show, according to Page Six.

There has been some speculation over the camera crew following them around, with many fans hoping that this spelled a big royal reveal. "They have also been shadowed for another project that will be much juicier, we’re told," said Page Six. "The cameras have been allowed behind the scenes at their home in Montecito, Calif., and joined the Sussexes on their trip to NYC last September."

Just when you thought the news that Prince Harry is to release an, "accurate and wholly truthful," royal memoir wasn't enough of a break from protocol, this news may well smash it up altogether.

It's said memoir that bosses are hoping to hook the release date of Prince Harry and Meghan's Netflix show on, say Page Six, although they claim the Sussexes would rather wait a bit longer.

“The timing is still being discussed, things are up in the air,” a producer told the publication.

Neither Netflix nor the Sussexes have confirmed anything yet, but in the last few months, Prince Harry and Meghan have really upped the ante with their work and opening up their family life. Only recently, Prince Harry opened up on Archie and Lilibet's 'age of innocence' at an event for 5 Rights Foundation titled, Making Child Online Safety a Reality.

The Duke of Sussex's Invictus Games has lost one of its main supporters following a decision made by the Ministry of Defence (MoD). 

Help For Heroes had been involved with the international sporting competition for wounded veterans since it was founded by Prince Harry in 2014, working alongside the Royal British Legion (RBL) on the recruitment, training, and development of its UK team. 

However, it has now been announced that the Ministry of Defence has pulled the British charity's collaboration with the Invictus Games - signifying the end of an eight-year-long relationship. From now on, the RBL will be solely responsible for veterans' preparation for the annual event until 2028. A spokesperson for the MoD has said that the switch will allow for "secure funding" and "more personnel to support the team." 

The news comes just a month after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended the Invictus Games 2022 at The Hague in Amsterdam, marking their first joint trip to Europe since stepping back as senior royals in January 2020. 

Lis Skeet, the services director of Help For Heroes, confirmed the organization's withdrawal as a partner of the Invictus Games. 

“Help For Heroes is incredibly proud to have trained, supported, and delivered Team UK for the past five Invictus Games," she said. 

“However, following extensive discussions, it has been decided by the MoD that the Royal British Legion will lead the end-to-end delivery of Team UK to the Invictus Games for the next five years and will also be the main funder of the programme. Unfortunately, therefore, we will no longer be directly involved in Invictus Team UK.”

It also appears that Help For Heroes, which normally raises about £27 million for the Invictus Games, isn't exactly approving of MoD's actions. The charity is reportedly 'baffled' by the move, but doesn't seem to have the power to overrule it. 

"We want to emphasise that this was not a decision we made ourselves. We know The Games continues to play a unique role in shining a light on the abilities of wounded veterans," Lis continued. 

“The MoD considered proposals from the Invictus UK partnership and have chosen this route moving forwards.

“Our focus now is on helping more people across the UK, within their communities, as part of keeping our promise to be here for wounded veterans for as long as they need us.”

Lis signed off her message with words of encouragement for their friends at the Invictus Games, promising "to cheer on Team UK" as they "look forward to seeing what the Invictus Games achieves in the future.”

Harry has shared why the Invictus Games means so much to him, and has won praise for revealing his open, direct approach to discussing the topic of disabilities with son, Archie.

When asked by a reporter from PEOPLE if he's looking forward to taking his children to the Invictus Games in the future, Harry replied that he "can't wait.”

He went on to explain how he’s started to introduce Archie to the Invictus Games, a multi-national sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women that were founded by Harry in 2014.

"I showed Archie a video of wheelchair basketball and rugby from the Invictus Games in Sydney, and he absolutely loved it," Harry said, before adding that it's always been important to teach his children that not all disabilities are obvious or visible.

"I showed him how some [players] were missing legs and explained that some had invisible injuries, too," Harry told the reporters. "Not because he asked, but because I wanted to tell him. Kids understand so much, and to see it through his eyes was amazing because it’s so unfiltered and honest."

Harry’s open and honest discussion of a potentially tough topic has been met with praise from fans online, and from Fatherly, the leading digital media brand for fathers.

Writing about Harry’s approach, Fatherly praised the Duke for refusing to “sensationalize what was going on.”

“He didn’t paint the athletes as an inspiration simply for playing rugby or basketball. He left ableism out and normalized the conversation of disability.”

However, when asked about missing his father and brother, the Duke of Sussex instead reaffirmed his commitment to those involved in Invictus Games and how much he missed his family back at their Santa Barbara home. 

Speaking about the relationship between Prince Harry and his father, Robert alleged that they “haven’t been in contact” about the interview and that things are difficult between them. 

“I think that basically the Prince of Wales has reached the end of his tether. They haven’t been in contact,” he claimed. “And I think if he’d started blurting about *that* meeting [that between the two Princes] I think that that would’ve been the end of it.”

'All families have problems, but you don't go blurting off to your next door neighbor as soon as you've had a meeting,” Robert added. “Prince Charles thought if these conversations are out in public then I'm not putting up with it and he's drinking at the last chance saloon.”

Robert’s remarks come days after Prince Harry’s devotion to the Queen was discussed during his enlightening new interview. Whilst he might have kept his reported meeting with his father private, the Duke of Sussex got candid about his grandmother and said she was on “great form” during his visit as he revealed his favorite thing about her.

He explains, "it’s clear that Harry and Meghan have no problem demonstrating publicly their affection for one another. The expert added, “He later made the same gesture to her, putting his hand on Meghan’s knee, signifying that the pair appear to be quite comfortable with one another and clearly have a strong relationship." 

Although the body language expert points out that this level of comfort, in tactile behavior, isn't usually seen in royal couples he does point out that Prince William and Duchess Kate, "have been known to share public displays of affection during royal engagements.”

Alongside the Sussexes hands-on attitude, Darren also comments on their physical closeness, and how tightly Meghan holds her husband's hand. However, he firmly believes that, "the most significant and important picture, however, is the one of Harry and Meghan kissing on stage."

“You don’t usually see this kind of intimacy from a Royal couple and it’s clear to see the connection between the pair," explains Darren. Shortly after Prince Harry broke his silence on a secret visit to the Queen, it was revealed that he recorded a brand new TV interview, set to air on the US channel NBC.

Speaking to the TODAY show's Hoda Kotb, he discussed his visit to see Her Majesty, alongside his wife Meghan Markle. He said the Queen is in, 'great form,' after her difficult bout of COVID-19. 

Harry and Meghan visited the Queen and Prince Charles in a low-key trip to Windsor Castle, ahead of attending the Invictus Games. “Being with her, it was great,” he said. "It was nice to see her, you know.”

He explained, “Both Meghan and I had tea with her, so it was really nice to catch up with her.”

Although Her Majesty is often seen as being very somber in public, she's also known for her wicked sense of humor. “Harry contacted his father and said he was coming over with Meghan and he wanted to meet,” they alleged. “Harry instigated it all. It was an olive branch from Harry and made in an effort to clear the air.”

They went on to claim, “Charles wants to heal things with his son and his daughter-in-law and ultimately wants to meet his grandchildren. As the Queen said when [their royal exit] was signed, they will always be a much-loved part of the family.

“By seeing the Queen before they arrived in Holland for a high-profile visit, they managed to diminish any idea they were snubbing her. Charles was happy to have them.”

The monarch still has yet to meet Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, though it’s thought that this could happen within a matter of months as they are reportedly invited to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022 celebrations in June.

The Queen, who has now left Buckingham Palace and moved to Windsor Castle, welcomed two very special guests to her new full-time home this week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. 

Her Majesty got to welcome her son and daughter-in-law to Windsor Castle, marking the first time all three have been together since early 2020. 

After months of speculation around Prince Harry ever returning to the UK with his family—with reports that he felt he was "not safe" in the UK—Harry and Meghan made the lowkey visit after their "hostile environment training" was revealed ahead of their visit to the Hague.

Prince Harry was last reported to be in the UK in July, most recently missing out on the memorial of his grandfather, Prince Philip, while Meghan is not thought to have been in the country since 2020.

It’s understood that Meghan and Harry flew from Los Angeles to London on a commercial flight Tuesday night—leaving Archie and Lilibet at home— and later had a “meeting” with both the Queen and Charles.

Though Harry visited the UK twice during 2021, Meghan and their children didn’t join him on either trip. In the months following, he has entered a lengthy (and public) court battle with the British government when they denied his request to fund his own security when he visits the country. 

In a February hearing, Harry’s lawyer said he “does not feel safe when he is in the UK given the security arrangements.”

The international sporting event, which was founded by ex-soldier Prince Harry in 2014, will see over 500 wounded service members compete in 10 adaptive sports, including weight-lifting and wheelchair rugby, between April 16 and 22. It will be also attended by multiple high-profile people, including US politician Pete Buttigieg and the Netherlands' King Willem-Alexander. 

The news of Meghan and Harry's trip comes shortly after the couple missed Prince Philip's memorial in London over concerns for their security in Britain. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit The Hague for the Invictus Games 2022 this weekend, marking their first joint trip to Europe since the COVID-19 pandemic began. 

The trip will see the couple meet participants of the international sports competition, which was founded by former British army officer Harry in 2014 for wounded service members and veterans. They will also be followed by a film crew at the event to capture footage for the upcoming Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Netflix Netflix documentary. 

Unfortunately, it looks like the Sussexes won't be able to get any B-roll of royal residences for the highly-anticipated film. The Dutch Royal Family reportedly won't be rolling out the red carpet for their British-American guests, due to the private nature of their visit. 

Harry and Meghan will "not be given an audience with Netherlands King Willem-Alexander" nor will they be hosted overnight in one of the country's three royal palaces. The couple will instead have to find alternative accommodation (likely a swanky five-star hotel) and make do with commoner company. 

The Duke and Duchess have also been forbidden to travel around the Netherlands with armed guards, in accordance with the EU country's strict laws on concealed and open carry.  

Dutch police spokeswoman, Anna Sophia Posthumus, told the Sun, "No, in the Netherlands only government officials (police, military personnel, etc) are allowed to carry weapons". 

However, according to Dai Davies, a former head of royal protection at Scotland Yard, the couple will still receive top-class security during their stay. 

"The truth is I have no doubt that he will be protected [in the Netherlands], whether he takes his own team or whether the Dutch authorities give him some kind of VIP status," he said. 

The news comes shortly after it was revealed that Prince Harry threatened to sue the Home Office over its refusal to allow him to pay for government security in Britain. The Duke, 37, has claimed that he feels 'unsafe' in his native country, after being chased by photographers on his trip to Princess Diana's statue unveiling at Kensington Palace last July.

A spokesperson for the famous couple confirmed that Meghan will join her husband for the first few days of the competition, in The Hague. This isn't the first time the pair attended the event together, as they were spotted together at the event when they were still dating back in 2017.

It's not believed that Archie and Lilibet will accompany their parents for the trip, and visiting the UK is definitely off the cards, for a very valid reason. Despite some believing that Prince Harry 'snubbed the Queen' by not returning for the Prince Philip memorial, that's not the case at all.

As ongoing legal proceedings between the Duke of Sussex and the British Home Office state that Prince Harry fears he's 'not safe' in the UK because of the 'inherited risk' he faces.

It remains to be seen whether the Sussexes will attend any celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022, but it's clear that they're not going to return to the UK unless adequate protection is provided for their family.

The Duke of Sussex confirmed on 12 March that he will travel to the Netherlands in April for the upcoming Invictus Games at The Hague, marking his first trip to the country since 2019. 

The announcement comes just a few weeks after it was revealed that Prince Harry would miss Prince Philip's memorial service on 29 March—a decision that has been widely interpreted as a snub to the Queen. 

"‘This has obviously surprised a lot of people… to travel to Europe to go to that, but not to his grandfather’s memorial service has, to use a well-worn phrase, got people’s goat," the Daily Mail's royal editor, Rebecca English, said. 

"They feel it is a slap in the face to the Queen and, again, another PR disaster as far as many people in the UK are concerned." 

A spokesperson for Harry has said that, while he won't be joining his royal relatives to honor the late Duke of Edinburgh in person, he still has "hopes to visit his grandmother as soon as possible." 

With the Queen fast approaching her 96th birthday, many folks feel that Harry—who has lived in North America with Meghan Markle since January 2020—is missing a vital opportunity to spend time with the aging monarch.

A source told the Express, “The Duke of Sussex will want to make sure we are ready as the last games were canceled because of Covid.

“We are hoping that the situation in April next year allows the games to go ahead as planned, in Holland. Our understanding is that the Duke of Sussex will be accompanied by a small film crew in order to allow the public to see the hard work involved in planning these games.”

The Invictus Games is a sporting event that was created by Prince Harry. The international competition is for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women who are either still serving or veterans.

The event was Prince Harry's brainchild who wanted to create a competition much like the American Warrior Games, a US sporting event for veterans with physical and mental disabilities.

Prince Harry, the founder of the Invictus Games and Invictus Games Foundation, opened up about the upcoming documentary series on his website, Archewell.

"Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination, and resolve."

"This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year."

The docu-series will share powerful stories from the competitors about their journeys to compete in the Invictus Games 2020.

Due to the pandemic, the Invictus Games will now take place in Spring 2022, but a date has yet to be confirmed.
