From now on, the RBL will be solely responsible for veterans&apos; preparation for the annual event until 2028. A spokesperson for the MoD has said that the switch will allow for "secure funding" and "more personnel to support the team." </p><p>The news comes just a month after <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/life/royal-news/harry-and-meghan-visit-the-queen-in-lowkey-visit-ahead-of-the-invictus-games/">Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended the Invictus Games 2022</a> at The Hague in Amsterdam, marking their first joint trip to Europe since stepping back as senior royals in January 2020. </p><p>Lis Skeet, the services director of Help For Heroes, confirmed the organization&apos;s withdrawal as a partner of the Invictus Games. </p><figure class="van-image-figure inline-layout" data-bordeaux-image-check ><div class='image-full-width-wrapper'><div class='image-widthsetter' style="max-width:1920px;"><p class="vanilla-image-block" style="padding-top:56.25%;"><img id="mBR4uzezTSxfhxWqvfCd8Q" name="harryinvictus.jpg" alt="Harry" src="https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/mBR4uzezTSxfhxWqvfCd8Q.jpg" mos="" align="middle" fullscreen="" width="1920" height="1080" attribution="" endorsement="" class=""></p></div></div><figcaption itemprop="caption description" class=" inline-layout"><span class="caption-text">Prince Harry at the Invictus Games 2022  </span><span class="credit" itemprop="copyrightHolder">(Image credit: Getty)</span></figcaption></figure><p>“Help For Heroes is incredibly proud to have trained, supported, and delivered Team UK for the past five Invictus Games," she said. </p><p>“However, following extensive discussions, it has been decided by the MoD that the Royal British Legion will lead the end-to-end delivery of Team UK to the Invictus Games for the next five years and will also be the main funder of the programme. Unfortunately, therefore, we will no longer be directly involved in Invictus Team UK.”</p><p>It also appears that Help For Heroes, which normally raises about £27 million for the Invictus Games, isn&apos;t exactly approving of MoD&apos;s actions. The charity is reportedly &apos;baffled&apos; by the move, but doesn&apos;t seem to have the power to overrule it. </p><p>"We want to emphasise that this was not a decision we made ourselves. We know The Games continues to play a unique role in shining a light on the abilities of wounded veterans," Lis continued. </p><p>“The MoD considered proposals from the Invictus UK partnership and have chosen this route moving forwards.</p><p>“Our focus now is on helping more people across the UK, within their communities, as part of keeping our promise to be here for wounded veterans for as long as they need us.”</p><p>Lis signed off her message with words of encouragement for their friends at the Invictus Games, promising "to cheer on Team UK" as they "look forward to seeing what the Invictus Games achieves in the future.”</p>

And when it came to their supposed recent meeting, the expert suggested that the future King wasn’t especially “happy” about it.</p><p>“Charles was not particularly happy about doing it, as far as I was aware”, Robert claimed before going on to suggest that “he only agreed to do the meeting if nothing was said about him whatsoever on American TV”. </p><p>Prince Harry, who is sixth in the <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/life/royal-news/the-official-royal-line-of-succession-has-been-updated-to-include-lilibet-diana/">royal line of succession</a>, did go on to discuss the Royal Family during his interview with Hoda Kotb. That&apos;s if their latest public appearances are anything to go by, according to body language expert Darren Stanton. </p><p>Speaking on behalf of <a href="https://casino.betfair.com/p/slots" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Betfair Casino</a>, Darren pointed out that if you wonder if the couple is still in love, just like Betty Everett sang in her famous Shoop Shoop Song, it&apos;s in his kiss.</p><p>The couple were very hands-on throughout their public appearances at the Invictus Games, and Darren says that indicates a lot. He explains, "it’s clear that Harry and Meghan have no problem demonstrating publicly their affection for one another. At one point, both Harry and Meghan were sat in the audience, Meghan was noticeably enjoying herself and what was very significant is that she had her left hand on Harry’s knee."</p><p>The expert added, “He later made the same gesture to her, putting his hand on Meghan’s knee, signifying that the pair appear to be quite comfortable with one another and clearly have a strong relationship." </p><figure class="van-image-figure inline-layout" data-bordeaux-image-check ><div class='image-full-width-wrapper'><div class='image-widthsetter' style="max-width:4088px;"><p class="vanilla-image-block" style="padding-top:86.64%;"><img id="rEe9CRmfnYkFBoJBGsGtzR" name="GettyImages-1392019901 (1).jpg" alt="Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex watch the sitting volley ball competition on day 2 of the Invictus Games 2020 at Zuiderpark on April 17, 2022 in The Hague, Netherlands." src="https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/rEe9CRmfnYkFBoJBGsGtzR.jpg" mos="" align="middle" fullscreen="" width="4088" height="3542" attribution="" endorsement="" class=""></p></div></div><figcaption itemprop="caption description" class=" inline-layout"><span class="credit" itemprop="copyrightHolder">(Image credit: Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Imagess))</span></figcaption></figure><p>Although the body language expert points out that this level of comfort, in tactile behavior, isn&apos;t usually seen in royal couples he does point out that Prince William and Duchess Kate, "have been known to share public displays of affection during royal engagements.”</p><p>Alongside the Sussexes hands-on attitude, Darren also comments on their physical closeness, and how tightly Meghan holds her husband&apos;s hand. However, he firmly believes that, "the most significant and important picture, however, is the one of Harry and Meghan kissing on stage."</p><p>Just when viewers thought nothing could possibly distract from <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/life/royal-news/meghan-markles-white-mini-dress-and-bold-red-lip-are-giving-us-major-hollywood-glamor-vibes/">Meghan Markle&apos;s white mini dress and bold red lipstick</a>, there was the kind of smooch that you see in the movies!</p><p>“You don’t usually see this kind of intimacy from a Royal couple and it’s clear to see the connection between the pair," explains Darren. "Meghan’s eyes were closed and she was smiling, showing genuine joy and happiness—the same expression is visible on Harry’s face and he and Meghan are touching as they both hold the microphone."</p>

The engagement, which was preceded by a stop at <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/us/life/royal-news/windsor-castle-take-a-look-at-the-historic-building-the-queen-will-spend-christmas-in/">Windsor Castle</a> on Thursday to meet the Queen, marked the couple&apos;s first joint trip to Europe since their high-profile emigration in early 2020. It&apos;s understood that the Sussexes offered Her Majesty an &apos;olive branch&apos; during the visit, after a strained two years of family conflict. </p><p>It was also Meghan&apos;s first public appearance of 2022, having spent much of the past few months at the <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/life/royal-news/inside-harry-and-meghans-new-dollar14-million-california-family-home/">£14 million Santa Barbara mansion</a> she shares with her husband and their two young children, Archie and Lilibet. </p><p>Unsurprisingly, royal fans were delighted by the Duchess&apos;s high visibility at The Hague this weekend—and the stellar outfits she chose to wear to each event. </p><p>From <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/life/royal-news/meghan-markle-rocks-baggy-jeans-and-shoulder-pads-to-drive-land-rover-at-invictus-games/">Meghan&apos;s baggy jeans</a> to her all-white suit, the mom-of-two didn&apos;t disappoint when it came to her European fashion. </p><figure class="van-image-figure inline-layout" data-bordeaux-image-check ><div class='image-full-width-wrapper'><div class='image-widthsetter' style="max-width:3011px;"><p class="vanilla-image-block" style="padding-top:139.32%;"><img id="2Tdddt34urqXP5VjuCm99L" name="GettyImages-1391784133.jpg" alt="Meghan and Harry" src="https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/2Tdddt34urqXP5VjuCm99L.jpg" mos="" align="middle" fullscreen="" width="3011" height="4195" attribution="" endorsement="" class=""></p></div></div><figcaption itemprop="caption description" class=" inline-layout"><span class="credit" itemprop="copyrightHolder">(Image credit: Getty)</span></figcaption></figure><p>On her second night in the Netherlands, she wore a stunning white dress by Valentino to meet Invictus Games participants with Prince Harry at an evening reception. The international sporting event, founded by the Duke in 2014, will see up 500 wounded soldiers compete in 10 different sports at The Hague between April 16 and 22. </p><p>The Sussexes arrived at the city&apos;s iconic Zuiderpark to excited crowds, including participants of the games and about 50 members of the media, before attending a welcome event hosted by the U.S. embassy. It has since been confirmed by their spokesperson that <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/life/royal-news/harry-and-meghan-visit-the-queen-in-lowkey-visit-ahead-of-the-invictus-games/">Harry and Meghan visited the Queen</a> at <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/us/life/royal-news/windsor-castle-take-a-look-at-the-historic-building-the-queen-will-spend-christmas-in/">Windsor Castle</a> before heading down to the Netherlands. </p><figure class="van-image-figure inline-layout" data-bordeaux-image-check ><div class='image-full-width-wrapper'><div class='image-widthsetter' style="max-width:5000px;"><p class="vanilla-image-block" style="padding-top:72.90%;"><img id="N7Y6rHRRr9CuadvGxjo76N" name="GettyImages-1240002287.jpg" alt="Meghan and Harry" src="https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/N7Y6rHRRr9CuadvGxjo76N.jpg" mos="" align="middle" fullscreen="" width="5000" height="3645" attribution="" endorsement="" class=""></p></div></div><figcaption itemprop="caption description" class=" inline-layout"><span class="credit" itemprop="copyrightHolder">(Image credit: Getty)</span></figcaption></figure><p>The Duchess wore a white, woolen double-breasted blazer with matching high-waisted pants by Valentino for the occasion, letting her glossy dark hair fall loosely on her shoulders. </p><p>She went for full-on coordination with her accessories, teaming the £3,200 power suit with an off-white bag by the iconic Italian designer, skyscraper white heels by Aquazuura, and a golden &apos;Love pendant&apos; necklace by Sophie Lis. <p><strong>Meghan Markle once opted for a subtle style message that showed she was set to become Prince Harry’s wife long before their fairytale wedding. </strong></p><ul><li>The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first public appearance together as a couple at the Invictus Games back in 2017. </li><li>For this important appearance Meghan is said to have chosen a crisp white shirt that had a particularly insightful style name. </li><li>This <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/life/royal-news/">royal news</a> comes as the <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/life/royal-news/queen-ditches-walking-stick-after-mobility-issues-for-latest-royal-engagement/">Queen ditches her walking stick after mobility issues for her latest royal engagement</a>. </li></ul><p>Royal outfits are often far more symbolic than they first appear, with many of <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/life/royal-news/meghan-markle/">Meghan Markle</a> and <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/fashion/kate-middleton-s-dresses-the-duchess-s-go-to-fashion-brands-for-dresses/">Kate Middleton’s dresses</a> and suits for events and trips championing particular designers. This was most recently seen as <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/us/life/royal-news/harry-and-meghan-receive-naacp-presidents-award-our-lives-were-brought-together-for-a-reason/">Harry and Meghan received an NAACP award</a> where the Duchess of Sussex stunned in a vibrant blue gown designed by Christopher John Roger. </p><p>But it seems even from her first ever public appearance with Prince Harry back in 2017, Meghan could be seen to have been sending subtle style messages. When Meghan and Prince Harry’s relationship first blossomed, she was already a famous figure in her own right playing Rachel Zane on hit legal drama Suits.</p><p><a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/us/life/royal-news/who-was-meghan-markle-in-suits-and-why-did-she-leave-the-hit-legal-drama/">Meghan Markle left Suits</a> shortly before her and Prince Harry’s royal wedding in 2018, but she was first introduced to the world as his girlfriend a year earlier.</p><figure class="van-image-figure inline-layout" data-bordeaux-image-check ><div class='image-full-width-wrapper'><div class='image-widthsetter' style="max-width:3000px;"><p class="vanilla-image-block" style="padding-top:76.07%;"><img id="k6VkhSQRunC2GpQQiNdsod" name="GettyImages-855063992.jpg" alt="Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attend the Wheelchair Tennis on day 3 of the Invictus Games Toronto 2017" src="https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/k6VkhSQRunC2GpQQiNdsod.jpg" mos="" align="middle" fullscreen="" width="3000" height="2282" attribution="" endorsement="" class=""></p></div></div><figcaption itemprop="caption description" class=" inline-layout"><span class="credit" itemprop="copyrightHolder">(Image credit: Photo by Karwai Tang/WireImage via Getty)</span></figcaption></figure><p>The couple stepped out in public in Toronto (where Meghan was living at the time) where they attended the Invictus Games, of which Prince Harry is a founder. Prince Harry and Meghan watched the wheelchair tennis match between New Zealand and Australia together.</p><p>And while both their looks were remarkably casual for one of the <a href="https://www.womanandhome.com/life/royal-news/who-are-queen-elizabeths-grandchildren-who-is-her-favorite-and-what-do-they-call-her/">Queen’s grandchildren</a> and his partner, Meghan’s white shirt could be seen to have a subtle hidden message. According to the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4917834/Prince-Harry-mental-health-conference-Toronto.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Daily Mail</a> at the time, the now-Duchess of Sussex wore a $185 (£137) shirt designed by Misha Nanoo with the style intriguingly named The Husband. </p><p>She paired The Husband shirt with ripped blue jeans and dark sunglasses, her hair worn in loose waves. But the smart shirt definitely did the talking and the statement piece’s name might have been a secret sign even back then that things were very serious between her and Prince Harry.</p><figure class="van-image-figure inline-layout" data-bordeaux-image-check ><div class='image-full-width-wrapper'><div class='image-widthsetter' style="max-width:1364px;"><p class="vanilla-image-block" style="padding-top:88.05%;"><img id="RKzh7hWYirDUKBfCZupGX4" name="GettyImages-853838136-web.jpg" alt="Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attend the Wheelchair Tennis on day 3 of the Invictus Games Toronto 2017" src="https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/RKzh7hWYirDUKBfCZupGX4.jpg" mos="" align="middle" fullscreen="" width="1364" height="1201" attribution="" endorsement="" class=""></p></div></div><figcaption itemprop="caption description" class=" inline-layout"><span class="credit" itemprop="copyrightHolder">(Image credit: Photo by Karwai Tang/WireImage via Getty)</span></figcaption></figure><p>As reported by the publication, bookmakers Ladbrokes suspended betting on an engagement announcement hours after this appearance. While the Daily Mail claimed that the shirt was “perhaps a subtle indication by Meghan that she won&apos;t be a single lady for much longer”. </p><p>It’s never been officially confirmed by the Duchess herself that she chose this meaningful shirt for a specific reason. However, Prince Harry did tell James Corden during his appearance on The Late Late Show last year that he knew his relationship with Meghan was “special” very early on. </p><div class="youtube-video" data-nosnippet ><div class="video-aspect-box"><iframe data-lazy-priority="low" data-lazy-src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/7oxlCKMlpZw" allowfullscreen></iframe></div></div><p>"The second date I was starting to think &apos;Wow, this is pretty special,&apos;" Harry told him. "It was just the fact we hit it off with each other and we were just so comfortable in each other&apos;s company.”</p><p>Reflecting on the way he and Meghan connected so strongly, he continued, "There were no distractions and that was great. It was an amazing thing, we went from zero to 60 in the first two months."</p>
