I don't go anywhere without my best sunglasses during the summer months. Frankly, I carry them most days when it's cold, too.

Not to be all Anna Wintour about it, but aside from the obvious protection from the sun they offer, I love to wear them in photographs, use them to push my hair back from my face, and I feel that little bit more confident when I'm not wearing make-up but I do have a pair of sunglasses on hand. Sharing her experience, she said, "They [the doctors] were asking me things like, 'Are your ears growing, and is there hair growing out of them? Are you growing a mustache and a beard? Are you easily irritable? Are you crying for no reason? Are you gaining a lot of weight really fast that doesn't go away no matter what you do? Are you shrinking?' And then they ask you, 'Is your vagina dry?'"

After acknowledging all of the intense questions she was asked, she was eager to emphasize that, “there's no expiration date for women."

"That has to go," she said. "Because you can kick ass at any age. You can hold your own at any age, you can dream at any age, you can be romantic at any age. We have the right to be loved for who we are at the place that we are."

Showing that there's very much a place for her, on the red carpet and on the screen Salma is soon to hit the big screen again as her upcoming film, the hotly anticipated Magic Mike's Last Dance, premieres in February 2023.

Will there be a Gucci Cyber Monday sale in 2023?

Gucci itself, in line with previous years, is not taking part in the Cyber Monday sale either online or in-store. But that doesn't mean you can't bag yourself Gucci for less. 

As in previous years, a number of Gucci's stockists have decided to take part in the Cyber Weekend sale period, offering a selection of discounted Gucci items amongst their product mix. This covers everything from bags and accessories to beauty, fragrance and sunglasses.

Last year's best deals came from a mix of big-name department stores and outlets in the US. But UK stores weren't far behind and we've spotted promising deals at Net-a-Porter, Flannels, The Outnet and Coggles to name just a few.

Does Gucci hold resale value?

Yes, Gucci pieces often hold their value at resale, sometimes selling for even more than the original price. However there are certain factors that influence this, such as whether the style is a limited run, consumer demand, and the condition of the piece means - so price and resale value can differ on a case-by-case basis. Generally speaking, as the price of designer bags tend to increase year on year, older styles will now be worth considerably more, new through retailers, increasing the chance that shoppers will want second hand purchases at a more affordable price - while still maintaining or increasing in value for the original seller.

As with all designer items that you hope will hold its resale value, classic colours and timeless designs always are the safest bet, although the classics don't often make it into the discount section, so keep your eyes peeled. Always look for brand signatures, such as iconic monograming, recognisable hardware or a particular colour palette. 

Designer handbag specialists Rebag found that these are the top five Gucci bags that hold their value at resale:

The shopping platform and publication reported in March 2022 that the above bags all held their value at resale between 100-120%. 

When looking at which Gucci bags might hold their value at resale, choose classic handbag designs that won't go out of style, or look out for limited edition pieces. 

"Limited edition pieces are also something to consider when buying a handbag. Rarity drives up the price. A special colourway or limited edition collection for example increases demand," says Sophie Hersan, co-founder of Vestiaire Collective.

Does Gucci offer refunds?

Yes, Gucci offers a full refund for both online and in-store purchases within 30 days. The brand's website states, "The return window for an online purchase is 30 days - ten days for beauty products or corporate gifts - from the delivery date, while the window for in-store returns is 14 days."

The policy differs for the Gucci Outlet store, which only offers an exchange policy. Items purchased at the Gucci Outlet can't be refunded, so if you exchange an item that is less expensive than your original purchase, you will have to buy something else to make up the difference, or lose your money.

The policy for individual retailers who stock Gucci should be checked before purchasing. 

Can you return Gucci items bought during the Cyber Monday sale?

As Gucci itself does not participate in Black Friday or Cyber Monday, any Gucci deals that will be available will be from a series of different retailers and all will have their own individual returns policies on items bought over this period. Many stores also insist on items being returned via the method of purchase. That means if you bought an item online, this is often the way item has to be returned. You may also need to return it with all the original packaging and make sure not to remove any labels until you are certain you want to keep your item. It is always best to check the terms and conditions for returns on each site that you are looking to make a purchase on before buying.

Top tips for finding the best Gucci Cyber Monday deals in 2023

• Shop around: While Gucci usually doesn't launch an official sale, other retailers stocking the brand have in previous years. Sales often start earlier than official launch dates, particularly when it comes to Black Friday or Cyber Monday, so you can start checking prior to Black Friday, up to a couple of weeks before even. If you see a product you like, be a savvy shopper and check if there's a better discount at another retailer. 
• Focus on key categories: When it comes to Gucci deals, you'll find the steepest price cuts on accessories, eyewear, fragrances, and bags. With womenswear, you can find premium pieces, like dresses, elsewhere for less. However, if you've had your eye on something all season and can find at least three things in your wardrobe to wear with it, there is nothing wrong with a treat.
• Research the retailer you're shopping from: When you find the Gucci piece you're after for a discounted price, be sure to check the retailer's shipping costs, delivery times, and returns policy, as it can vary greatly and high shipping costs can bump up the overall cost.

Last year saw some the biggest discounts across the board on Gucci on Cyber Monday, with prices slashed further on clothing, accessories, and fragrance across retailers. In the US, discounts reached up to 80% off.

However, Lipfriend argues it's important to exercise some caution when investing in a Louis Vuitton bag with the hope of re-selling. The bag expert is dubious about the potential for your best Louis Vuitton bag to increase in value in some instances. “Much is written about resale values and there is the notion that expensive bags only go up in value. I think this is misleading as there are so many variables. For example, with Louis Vuitton monogram pieces, much depends on the rarity of the shape. There is usually a commission to pay for resale too, which can be as much as 40% of the sales price. As with all things I would advise customers to buy what they love and look after it well.”

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences released its list of nominees for this year’s Oscars—set to take place on March 27—and, although expected to earn a nod for her role on House of Gucci, Lady Gaga was ultimately snubbed. Fans aren’t happy.

In House of Gucci, Lady Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani, an outsider who marries into the Gucci family and kicks off a battle for the control of the historical brand. 

The 35-year-old actor’s performance did earn her a slew of nominations at other major award shows, including the BAFTA Awards, the SAG Awards, the Critics Choice Awards, and the Golden Globes—a fact that makes the Academy's decision to gloss over her in the Oscars 2022, all the more shocking.

Overall, the movie is nominated in the Best Makeup & Hairstyling category, and Lady Gaga took to Instagram to congratulate her co-workers on the nod. 

"I could not be happier for a man I call my brother, who I've worked with for the last 15 years, @fredericaspiras, for his nomination in Makeup & Hairstyling for House of Gucci. Frederic was magical, precise, and dedicated months leading up to shoot and during filming," she wrote on the social media platform alongside a photo of the two of them together.

She went on to elegantly praise this year's other nominees as well. "Congratulations on all your hard work, dedication, your nomination and YOUR magic — you all deserve major recognition for what was a truly beautiful landscape of performances and accomplishments this past year," she wrote. 

"Your dedication during Covid, your huge hearts, and your ability to tell amazing stories is a gift to the whole world during what is for many a very hard time. Congratulations my friends. Bravo!"

This isn't Lady Gaga's first rodeo at the Oscars. The multitalented artist was nominated for her role in A Star is Born in 2019, where she played opposite Bradley Cooper. The chemistry between the two was so palpable that Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were surrounded by romance rumors for years after their performance together.

The star was also nominated in the Best Original Song category for her work on Til It Happens To You from the documentary The Hunting Ground in 2016. She won in the latter category three years ago, earning praise for her song Shallow, part of the soundtrack to A Star is Born.

Fans took to social media to comment on the recent snubbing. "Lady Gaga is officially an Oscar snub," one fan tweeted.
