It lands online today, but I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek last week. Not only was I seriously impressed with the quality of the pieces, but it also had me feeling very excited for autumn. Oh, and everything is priced at £30 or less, so it's very budget-friendly.

The By Coleen collection is available to shop online via click and collect, and it's all about making every day chic. There's super soft loungewear, designs in an autumn-ready colour palette of burgundy and toffee, plus some of the best barrel leg jeans you'll find on the high street.

But after trying on the collection, the jackets came out top of my wishlist. I can't decide between the £30 faux leather funnel neck jacket and the £26 checked jacket - they'll be the first items to sell out if you ask me...

Just when we thought it was safe to give our favourite comfortable sandals and flowy dresses a break, the heatwave is on its way back. That means we'll be relying on breezy, comfortable pieces more than ever and shorts are many people's favourite go-tos.

Helen Skelton styled her shorts with a cream button-up tank top which she tucked in for a seamless finish. Although it was sleeveless, it wasn't strappy, and provided a good amount of shoulder coverage in the sunshine.

Not everyone loves showing much skin, even when it's hot, so another way to style shorts is with a floaty shirt or blouse with longer sleeves. Alternatively, go for a vest top and layer a linen shirt over the top which falls to a similar length as your shorts.

We didn't get to see which shoes the Lost and Found presenter was wearing with this particular look, though Helen is a big fan of chunky sandals and she was wearing a tan pair in another snap in her post. These would work well with her shorts and button-up top, as they would add a relaxed, comfortable edge.

Denim shorts can be easily styled with a variety of everyday footwear options, from flat sandals to white trainers and ballet flats. They can be elevated with wedges too, though traditional stiletto heels can be just a bit too much of a style contrast.

Slippers becoming outdoor shoes have become a growing trend over the last few years - just look at how people are styling Birkenstock clogs and slip-on mules for all occasions. So, when I spotted Pamela Anderson arranging flowers in a pair of shearling suede clogs, which I believe to be the Paige Wynn Shearling Flats, I was immediately ready to invest.

Fur-lined footwear may not be at the top of your shopping list right now, but the beauty of shoes like this is their year-round versatility. From lounging in the garden to local coffee dates in the transitional months, there are very few casual affairs that don't call for comfortable flats with a refined edge. Boasting a suede upper and penny loafer strap detailing, Pamela's mules epitomise comfort with luxury polish.

But if you're not quite in the position to drop £300+ on a new pair of shoes, fear not. There is a wide variety of very similar styles across the high street, and I'm willing to bet that come September, you'll be seeing this type of flat everywhere as an alternative to comfortable trainers.

Despite their casual appearance, loafer-esque clogs can look elevated and polished with countless outfit combinations. They will make floaty midi dresses feel distinctly boho, and they look right at home paired with M&S barrel jeans and a silk cami. But the biggest appeal is the comfort factor - they're the type of shoes you can easily walk in, and their rounded toe leaves plenty of room to keep your feet flexible.

Pamela opted to pair hers with a white linen dress and matching sunglasses for a prairie-inspired feel, making for a look she could easily wear out of the house on a lunch or shopping date. And judging by the gorgeous weather in her garden, they're suitable even on warmer days when the sun is shining.

I have a similar pair of clogs in my wardrobe, including a pair with shearling lining, and I have worn them in almost all seasons without overheating or discomfort. They come in particularly handy when travelling, especially when it comes to what to wear on a plane or in air-conditioned hotel rooms when I want something cosy I can slip into.

As soon as the weather heats up, you will see me in nothing but flip flops. I will wear them for any and every occasion I can. However, this has meant that I have suffered plenty of blisters and achy arches due to their flat shape and tendency to rub - until I discovered what has quickly become my most-recommended flat shoes to wear with dresses.

You might associate Crocs with the signature slip-on clogs designed for practicality rather than style points, but the brand also has an impressive offering of footwear that is far more fashion-forward, but remains comfortable for day-long wear, and I've been wearing Crocs Miami Flip on repeat. Sleek and understated they have the addition of TPU uppers that make them feel broken-in from day one.

Flip flops have returned as a key spring/summer fashion trend for 2026, and brands are consistently delivering chicer and more wearable styles. One key look for this year is the square toe silhouette, which instantly gives the casual sandals a more refined and structured feel and Crocs have echoed this shape with the Miami Flip, and I can confirm they look far more polished than your regular rounded cut.

What first drew me to these flip flops was the chic square shape, but the real standout details are the materials and design additions that make them built for significant wear. Unlike your typical flip flops, these aren’t entirely flat - rather, they offer a subtle gradual lift with a small wedge that supports your heels and arches. The Croslite™ footbed and outsole are lightweight and flexible to move with your feet without losing shape, and even after wearing mine for over a year, they haven’t even begun to warp.

A complaint I regularly hear from friends is that flip flops rub between the toes and across the top of the feet, and my solution has always been to push past the discomfort until they’re worn in. However, the Miami Flips are specifically crafted to feel worn-in from the first time you put them on. TPU material is known for stretching easily and retaining its shape, while absorbing high impacts. This combination means that they don’t cut in anywhere or feel too rigid and rub against the skin, so they really are ready for a full day of walking straight out of the box.

On top of these design features, the grippy sole makes them safe for various terrains, and the small raised ledge under the toes continues the supportive feel. I had always expected to only find these details in pricey, ergonomic shoes with zero fashion appeal, but these Crocs tick every single box for under £40.

Unlike many other square toe flip flops, they aren’t excessively narrow either. There’s plenty of space for my feet and toes to sit comfortably, with no spilling out the side that often comes with thin sandals. Even for wider feet, you’re not at risk of these being too small. So, if you’d previously written off the square toe silhouette with this fear, I’m pleased to report these can work for you.

If you’re on the hunt for an affordable, truly comfortable pair of summer shoes that can slip into a carry-on and take you from the city streets to the beach, I’ve yet to encounter sandals I turn to more regularly than these Crocs. Mine still look brand new after two full summers of almost daily wear, and I’m still raking in compliments each time I dress them up.

British weather is notoriously unpredictable so although we've been getting so much use out of dresses and comfortable sandals recently, it's important to have pieces that can be worn when it's cooler too. Lightweight knitted tops are perfect for cloudy conditions and Angellica Bell's cotton strawberry jumper shows that they can still be very summery.

This piece is by Boden and the TV host recently wore it with a denim skirt and slingback sandals. It's got short puffed sleeves, a crew neckline and ribbed trims. All of these details are very classic and this is perfect for balancing out the boldness.

The strawberry motifs are playful and the fruit is the quintessential choice for summer so even though the T-shirt is knitted it doesn't feel wintery.

Bright red has been a big colour trend for 2026 too and it seems Angellica Bell is fully on board as she also wore the iconic Lulu Guinness Strawberry Basket Bag to Wimbledon this year. For a casual weekend at home, The One Show host went more low-key and paired her strawberry knit with a denim mini skirt.

Denim looks particularly great as a contrast against red and although not everyone will love shorter skirts, most people will have a pair of blue jeans in their summer capsule wardrobe. Alternatively, go for a longer skirt or shorts.

With a fitted top like Angellica's, you could tuck it in or leave it loose and it would look great both ways. Because the main colours in the jumper are white and red, keeping to this palette is another option and that applies to whatever patterned top you've got. Cohesive colour matching always looks polished and it's a trick the Royal Family regularly uses.

The broadcaster loves wearing bright colours and bold designs, so this time she finished off her ensemble with glittery silver flats. In her Instagram post she explained that they were new, from Palmaira and she also got a pair of tiger print ones.

The sparkly slingbacks were another fun element in her outfit, though you could just go for white trainers or sandals instead. Angellica often re-wears her favourite pieces so it'll be interesting to see how she might style her knitted T-shirt another way.

Even if we don't see it featured on her social media again, she's reminded us all that a short sleeved knit can be remarkably wearable for summer.

Whilst there's always a place for your best summer dresses, there is such a thing as sartorial fatigue when they're all you've been living in for months - not to mention, you'll often have to contend with uncomfortable chafing on seriously hot days (or snap up some of the best anti-chafing shorts). So, after spotting Laura Hamilton in a gorgeous printed balloon-leg jumpsuit, I knew it was the perfect piece for my holiday packing list.

Combining the ease of a floaty dress with the practicalities of trousers, it's hard to find fault with the best jumpsuits, and Laura's high street option not only boasts a polished statement print - it also costs less than £38 from H&M.

Whilst the wide-leg cut skims over the thighs and leaves plenty of room for movement, the cuffed ankles bring some structure back to your bottom half that avoids your frame looking swamped or boxy. This also means that they complement any type of shoe, from comfortable trainers to strappy heels or wedges.

Aside from this jumpsuit's cut that comfortably accentuates the waist without digging in, the print is a masterclass in eye-catching yet wearable motifs. We might not quite be in heatwave territory at the moment, but it's still warm, and it's set to get even hotter next week. Too hot for jeans most days, and if you're anything like me, you're over wearing the same few summer dresses on repeat.

Helen Skelton provided a stylish alternative at just the right time, posting some photos on Instagram in which she's wearing a full look by Varley. It's a brand you might associate more with activewear, but as Helen's outfit proves, they do so much more than just leggings.

She paired the Varley chino shorts in khaki with a matching tank vest and it's such a stylish yet sporty combination. The shorts are loose and comfortable, and the length is just right to be flattering for anyone. Did I mention both pieces are now reduced in the sale? Bonus!

Although we can't see Helen's shoes, her waterproof Teva sandals would have worked really well with the slightly sporty feel of this outfit, or a classic pair of Birkenstock sandals, like the ones I've suggested above, would also be a good option.

She added a gold chain necklace to complement the earthy khaki colour of her outfit, plus a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses, which rounded off the look perfectly.

It's an ensemble that was right at home on Helen in the rolling hills of the Lake District, but would look just as chic on the beach on holiday or back home for a city commute.

I really believe that when it comes to denim, the more affordable British clothing brands on the high street often turn out to be even better than expensive designer labels. You've probably tried some of the best M&S jeans (my favourites are the barrel leg jeans), and I'm always impressed by Next's selection of denim, too.

But River Island denim definitely deserves more attention. In fact, some of the most stylish women I know swear by the brand's jeans. woman&home's Digital Editor Kerrie Hughes is a fan, and so is Fashion Channel Editor Rivkie Baum, who told me: "I have always loved River Island jeans, although the majority of my wardrobe is made up of dresses and skirts, when I do need a denim fix, River Island is where I turn to.
