I can't stress enough, how when it comes to handbags in particular, I believe heavily in investment shopping. Of course, when it comes to more frivolous trends you might want to experiment, but for the most part, a great leather handbag will last years, and in relatively neutral silhouettes and colours won't truly date.

1. Suede

Suede was huge last season, and it's back for another round. Part of the autumn/winter fashion trends 2026 too - it's time to get those suede jackets back out. This luxuriously soft and supple fabric is ideal for autumn, particularly if you lean into classic shades of tan, moss and chocolate that will all feel supremely elevated. This is a handbag trend best served with a large tote or a slouchy hobo silhouette, and it works with everything from bohemian dresses to jeans and a blazer.

Spotted at multiple brands, including Max Mara - one of my favourites. This is the chicest of trends. Think tonal looks, heaps of neutrals and easy elegance - beautiful.

2. Crescents and Curves

Crescent and curved silhouettes have remained a core handbag trend for several seasons, and while the first crop of this shape was all about the crescent, for autumn/winter 2026, expect a softer approach. This broad style covers a heap of designs, categorised by their curved bottoms, but can be super slouchy or pretty structured. Mainly, it is a loss of angular and boxier shapes that dictates this style.

Despite being the originator of the angular Baguette bag, it was the curved shapes at Fendi this season that really caught my attention, and I'm pleased to see these have filtered down to the high street too.

3. Oversized shoulder bags

I don't know about you, but I love an oversized tote. Between a work laptop, a bottle of water, headphones and everything else, those small and pretty bags just don't cut it for my 9-5, and so I'm pleased to see chic but large bags back on the fashion map. The shoulder bag goes super-sized for this autumn, but again, stick to classic colours and leathers, and you'll get wear from this style for years to come.

If Chanel puts forward a trend, you know the high street will be watching, and the French fashion houses' runway show was obviously pure heaven for bag lovers, but the oversized styles turned my head the most.

4. Animal Prints

One of fashion's most enduring trends, animal print never really goes out of fashion. While leopard and mock croc are a constant in terms of bags, expect to see deer, zebra, and snake all on the agenda for the months ahead. I, for one, love an animal print, particularly big cat-inspired ones, as they are fairly neutral, meaning you can use your animal print bag to accent your entire look.

In terms of silhouettes, you will generally find animal print in its purist form on smaller items, including shoulder bags and clutches, while mock croc pretty much covers every shape and size.

Mock-croc is, of course, super common when it comes to luxury bag brands and we saw heaps of it on the runways for the season ahead, but the biggest champions of leopard and zebra were the likes of Fendi and Carolina Herrera, who incorporated it seamlessly into their collections.

Colour-wise, largely stick to the traditional colourway of whichever animal pattern you have chosen for a more expensive and sophisticated finish to this playful trend.

5. East/West

The original leader of the east/west pack is undoubtedly the Fendi Baguette, and having recently enjoyed a resurgence in popularity, the east/west trend has in many ways been created in its honour. This trend, as the name suggests, covers bags that are long, rather than deep, and to that end this quirky trend is best for evening or smaller days bags. Picked up, of course, Fendi and the likes of Miu Miu, this is a look that easily filters down to the high street, allowing for plenty of affordable alternatives.

6. Top handle bags

The most ladylike of trends, if you're looking for a special occasion purchase, then the top handle bag is certainly worth consideration. With a very vintage aesthetic, these bags are generally smaller, more compact styles with handles made for grabbing, but for shoulder or crossbody wear. Having said that, many styles do come with a second set of handles, longer straps to add versatility to the design.

Dior was a big champion of this aesthetic, which very much fits with the elegant design ethos of the brand, but there are plenty of high street alternatives that deliver that same elevated finish for a fraction of the price. For the most expensive look? Really consider the handles and the fabrication.

7. Everyday clutch bags

I personally have never really got into the clutch bag, and it's possibly why I've snuck this style in at number 7. The everyday clutch is worlds away from my idea of the perfect bag, as I am someone who loves to have their handsfree, and also I don't trust myself not to simply abandon my clutch accidentally.

Having said all that, I am quite taken with the oversized, everyday clutch that takes the shape once small, palm-fitting and reserved for special occasions into everyday lives, with the idea of it going from 9-5 and then onto your 5-9. I was quite taken by Victoria Beckham's offering, which for the first time, made me want to be the kind of woman that could navigate a clutch for a whole day.

Larger and softer than the traditional clutch shape, these really are intended to do it all, and you can expect this trend to seep into the high street and come to a commute near you. Many versions will still come with an optional strap, which will add to the versatility. A very smart and fashion-forward style, this is the bag trend to adopt to make a statement this autumn.

As with the main fashion trends, handbag trends change with the season, although arguably the most popular silhouettes tend to have a longer shelf life. Handbags for this time of year tend to feel more luxurious, as leather and suede have far greater elegance than, say, raffia iterations, and you get to enjoy all those luxurious textures and naturally darker colours that add an instant richness.

There truly is something for everyone this season, and you may find you already have several of these silhouettes in your wardrobe. In which case, dust them off and add them to your accessory rotation.

Guy Ritchie's hugely popular Netflix show The Gentlemen is back for a second series, and whilst I'm watching it for the nail-biting drama, the wardrobe choices have really got my attention.

Think polished country house style, heritage-inspired designs and some of the best British clothing brands. I think we can all agree that this past summer was a hot one. The endless heatwaves made choosing an outfit each day a very tricky task, as I wanted everything to be as cool and easy to wear as possible, and that included my underwear. Even my best bras suddenly felt a little tight and uncomfortable as the temperatures soared, so I made it my mission to find some super breathable new pieces, and thankfully I found Uniqlo’s Wireless Relax Bra.

This well-designed bra is part of the Japanese brand’s AIRism range, which means it's made from a very clever fabric that promises to be moisture-wicking, odour-fighting, and cooling against the skin, as well as having plenty of stretch for comfort. The AIRism collection covers a lot of everyday basics, and I’ve worn some of the dresses before, but I'd never considered the underwear range until recently. Now that I’ve tried it, I can honestly see myself revisiting it again and again when I need to update my lingerie drawer.

The Wireless Relax Bra features all of the above cooling properties thanks to the technical fabric, but it also takes great care of my bust. It’s wire-free, which makes it wonderfully comfy, but still provides an impressive amount of hold and support thanks to the integrated cups and a built-in power mesh. It kept my boobs in check with zero rigid feel, and it's easily up there as one of the most comfortable bras I’ve ever worn.

I tried the bra in a lovely navy colour, which felt like a nice change from traditional black or nude styles, and there are currently four other colours to choose from, including grey and a peachy hue. The bra covers sizes XS-XXL, and it's only £19.90 – the affordability is another huge plus point for me, but the bra doesn’t feel cheap at all. In fact, this wireless style feels like a dream to wear, and I have worn it on repeat since discovering it last month.

If I had to use one word to describe the bra, it would be ‘comfortable’, as it pulls on easily and then sits neatly in position without feeling tight. I popped it on first thing and genuinely forgot I was wearing it. Sometimes a new bra can feel a little stiff, or it can take a while to get used to, but this one felt like a second skin on day one. I had no complaints right through to bedtime, and have enjoyed wearing it just as much regularly ever since.

While I wouldn’t necessarily wear the bra for a super busy day at work or running frantically for my morning train, I’ve found this one to be supportive enough for a normal day or a relaxed weekend, and it means I don’t need to decide between bra vs bralette, as it takes all the best bits of each to provide hold and shape while being stretchy and easy to move around in.

The wire-free design and subtly shaped cups contain internal power mesh, which works well to lift and hold my boobs, and the lack of any heavy padding means it sits invisibly under even the tightest of tops and has a lovely, smoothing effect. There are no clasps at the front or back, and the small adjusters on the shoulder straps look very sleek while being easy to slide up and down to find your perfect fit.

The AIRism fabric is noticeably cooler than some of my other bras, and it felt like a dream to wear on even the hottest of days. Summer might be over, but I will be sticking with this piece, as it will make a great and wearable base layer under my chunky knits and best winter coats over the coming months.

I’m a size 12 and a 36B, so I went for a size Medium, and it has been a total winner. The sizes go up to an XL, and while I imagine it'll be comfy for any shape and size, I'm not sure it would be fully supportive for anybody with very big boobs looking for an everyday staple - if you are browsing for the best bras for larger busts, this might not be the one for you.

I really like the minimal and fuss-free design, which comes without lace or bows, as it gives this one a modern aesthetic while still feeling very classic. It has a crop-top shape with a square neckline, which provides a little more coverage than some of my plunge or balconette bras, and works well under most separates, but it's worth mentioning that the higher-cut front does mean it’s not ideal for wearing underneath some skimpier or lower-cut tops.

The sleek material has a gentle sheen to it, and I really like the deep navy colour as it feels a little more interesting than my traditional lingerie, but without being too much. There are other colours to choose from too, and it’s currently available in grey, white, neutral, and a peachy hue.

A major plus point for this bra is that, despite being very technical, the Polyamide and Elastane fabric is easy to look after, and this piece can be thrown in the machine and washed at 40degrees on a gentle cycle. I have washed it a dozen times already, and it still feels like new. The built-in support means you don't need to worry about removing padded cups or anything beforehand, and after drying very quickly, it keeps its shape and stretch perfectly.

This bra really is light and breathable against the skin, and it was such a treat to wear during the hot weather, but now that autumn is approaching, I don't see myself packing it away anytime soon - in fact, I don't want to take it off! The super soft and stretchy material is really easy to move around in, and it sits neatly under clothing - all while providing a good level of support, shape and hold for my boobs.

This modern bra really has become one of my favourites. It looks good, feels great and keeps my bust in check, minus any rigid feel - I have zero complaints every time I wear it.

Pamela Anderson’s gorgeous lilac look at the Venice Film Festival has just made me reconsider everything I’ve previously thought about autumn colour palettes. While I've always associated pastels with summer, her sorbet-shaded outfit was a gorgeous choice for those final warm-weather days.

Autumn is here and I, for one, am excited about the prospect of putting some actual shoes back on. When it comes to footwear, regardless of the trainer trends for 2026, I am pretty loyal to my best white trainers, and I think after 20 years in fashion, I've worked out the best fits and styles that work for my wardrobe and my feet.

For me, having the most comfortable trainers is paramount, and while I don't want to compromise on style, I am at a point in my life where I simply won't tolerate discomfort either. White trainers are an intrinsic part of my everyday wardrobe. Despite the wider fit, they actually look fairly slimline, which is a bonus. Although the zip fastening doesn't really negate the need to fumble with laces, because honestly, for the best support you do want to use both, they definitely help with the ergonomics.

I think the support on the Sole Bliss Hero is brilliant. They look and, in many ways, feel like a fashion trainer, but with plenty of additional comfort and contouring technology. They definitely do need some wearing in, but are worth the perseverance. As they are more of a sleek, smart-casual shoe than a sporting style, the low-cut back doesn't have any cushioning, so at least on my part, socks (even trainer ones) are recommended.

I thought the zip would provide a shortcut to getting them on and off, but in truth, for the best fit and support, you do want to use both the zip and the laces. The zip is ideal for making them easy to put on, but then you do really want to unlace, or loosen the laces, to zip them back up and then re-tie them to get maximum support around your foot.

I don't have bunions, but I do have wide feet. I wouldn't say they were the widest trainers I've tried, but they did certainly offer a supportive fit that feels like it gently hugs your foot. A week in, my Sole Bliss Hero trainers actually got rid of a lot of foot pain that I now realise was from unsupportive summer shoes that were comfy to chuck on, but doing me no favours.

With minimal rubbing, after two weeks they definitely now feel worn in, and while I will always wear them with socks, I'm finding I can wear them for long periods and not have any pain when I take them off. I do miss the easy on-and-off that I've got with other shoes; these are certainly not a pair you can kick off, but I do really appreciate the support across the whole foot.

Learning to clean white shoes is important, as the light colourway will always result in dirt and scuffs, and to keep your shoes looking their best, you will want to give them a brush or wipe down after most, if not every wear.

While I love a shoe I can just chuck in the washing machine - I do this all the time with my Vivaia sneakerinas, I do think the fit and support delivered by the Sole Bliss Hero is worth the washing machine sacrifice.

My verdict on the Sole Bliss Hero Leather Wide Fit Trainers? Absolutely worth the money. At £189, they are pretty steep for a pair of white trainers, but having tested a lot of shoes and gathered quite a selection of white trainers, you really are paying for the comfort, contouring and support technology.

Like every shoe, everyone's feet are so different, but as a wide-footed woman, I have spent years struggling with shoes. And the recent foot pain I had experienced after a summer in sandals was almost instantly alleviated by the Sole Bliss Hero.

A trainer with style or substance, they might not be the widest, but despite this, there wasn't any side rubbing or painful side blisters, and they really do hide all the technology in the shoe, so no one will know your trainers come with an extra helping hand, as it were.
