Sue's blog: Sister Act
Last weekend was the birthday of one of my great friends and it’s always our tradition to have a girls’ day out to celebrate. Well, any excuse (though we often don’t need one at all!)
The plan was for the three of us, Jan, Mel (the birthday girl) and me to have lovely lunch followed by a little theatre trip. As a surprise, we decided booked Sister Act at the London Palladium and, boy, was it the right choice! It was fabulous - funny and uplifting, with the multi-talented Sheila Hancock playing Mother Superior and the very glamorous Patina Miller taking the role of Deloris.
It’s a very hard act to walk in the shoes of Whoopi Goldberg, who played Deloris in the original movie, but she did an amazing job and is someone who we'll be hearing more of, I’m sure. A great performer with an incredible voice.
I recommend it very highly indeed. And you don't have to wait for a birthday to go!
