Sue's blog: our South African team
woman&home South Africa
I feel like I’ve spent the entire week with a friend as Frith Thomas, the Editorial Director of woman&home South Africa has been over here in the UK to see what we’re up to and to compare notes and experiences.
Of course, we’ve been hard at work but we’ve also had a lot of fun too – tasting some delicious dishes for our next issue, meeting readers and we’re just back from a divine cover shoot with a gorgeous celebrity for a forthcoming issue (though I can’t yet tell you who, of course!)
The unpredictable weather may have come as a bit of nasty surprise for Frith but, aside from that, she’s loved being over here. When we get together and talk, it always makes us realise how similar our woman&home readers are wherever they are in the world. Just like us, 40+ women in South Africa share the brand new attitude we always talk about in the magazine – they’re full of get-up-and-go and are grabbing all of life’s opportunities.
So that Frith gets a little taste of our wonderful history, I’m going to take her to Hampton Court Palace this weekend and then out for tea at The Petersham Hotel in Richmond. With the hotel’s views over the meadows made famous by JMW Turner, she’ll see something she won’t get at home and I want to introduce her to my favourite girly treat of afternoon tea.
Whatever you’re up to, I hope you have a lovely weekend too.
Sue
