Cranberry and Bramley sauce

This traditional Christmas-lunch accompaniment has a little twist so it's not too sweet

  • 400g (14oz) cranberries
  • 200g (7oz) Bramley apples, peeled, cored and roughly chopped
  • 130ml (4½fl oz) port
  • 100g (4oz) caster sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick


Place the ingredients in a pan, bring to the boil and simmer gently for 25 minutes.
