Rachel Khoo's simple French recipes

Rachel Khoo is BBC2's newest culinary recruit.

Despite not knowing a word of French, Rachel decided to pack up her pots and pans and move to Paris six years ago. There she enrolled at the world famous cookery school, Le Cordon Bleu.

A patisserie course - and lots of 'educational' trips to little bistros and colourful French markets - later, and Rachel was impressing the notoriously hard to please Parisians with her take on croissants and croque monsieur.

 

 

Although Rachel is now a full-time 'food creative' (and even knows the French for asparagus), her fresh and simple approach to French cooking hasn't changed. She spends her days dreaming up recipes in her tiny little Parisian apartment, testing them on an even tinier hob and then inviting the public in (two at a time) to decide what will make the menu at her next event.

New BBC2 show 'The Little Paris Kitchen' - and accompanying book - charts her culinary adventures across the channel.
