Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas has revealed that Cheryl would be her ideal celebrity dancer on the next series of the competition.
Speaking to Radio Times, the self-confessed 'queen of latin' declared, "I think Cheryl Cole would be amazing."
In fact, Cheryl once dated Dancing With The Stars pro-dancer Derek Hough, who was trained by Shirley - so perhaps the star has already picked up some moves.
So could Cheryl be the next Girls Aloud member to compete for the glitter ball? She'd be following in the footsteps of bandmate Kimberley Walsh, who memorably reached the Strictly final in the 2012 series.
But, with rumours circulating about the singer's return as a judge on The X Factor next year, the chances of Cheryl joining the singing show's head-to-head rival are slim.
When asked about her own return to the show next series, Shirley herself refused to confirm or deny her position. "If I did, it would be, Shirley - keep your mouth shut," she is reported to have said, glancing at her publicist.
She also defended her controversial decision to vote favourite Aston Merrygold off the show, saying, "Aston was an absolute natural dancer, wasn't he? There was nothing that
that boy couldn't do and he shouldn't have been in the dance-off. But
whose fault was that? It certainly wasn't mine.
