Since leaving the White House in January, the Obamas have been pretty busy but they haven't wasted a single minute of their down time. They have quite literally dived straight in to life outside the White House.
The couple have been experiencing what some might call "retirement goals". If everyone could expect to spend their retirement as happy and sun-washed as the Obamas, we reckon we would all be a lot happier!
Just a few days ago Barack was snapped taking a picture of his wife as she posed on a super yacht. There has been a lot of speculation as to what device the former President of the USA was using but, judging by the size it is likely to be a tablet, possibly an iPad.
Michelle's natural hair is blowing in the breeze as she poses for what we imagine will be another flawless photo of the former first lady. Barack is wearing sunglasses, a pale blue polo shirt and some white trousers. The scene has led many to call Obama an "Instagram husband" on photo-taking duty for his other half!
Reports suggest that Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Bruce Springsteen were also on board the 454-foot-yacht owned by billionaire David Geffen. We wish we had received an invite to the party.
The Obamas are hands-down some of the coolest people on the planet and, luckily, they have a lot of friends on hand with whom to enjoy their seemingly early retirement. Here's a quick rundown of what the couple have been up to since exiting the White House earlier this year. It might give you some inspiration on how to spend your own post-work days...
Within moments of leaving the White House the Obamas were jetting away on a much-deserved holiday. Barack had promised Michelle a long-overdue break, and he kept his word by taking his family to holiday in Palm Springs, California. This is a popular destination with the whole family and one they had visited several times before.
Shortly after their Palm Springs trip the Obama's joined billionaire pal Richard Branson on Mosquito Island, which the business mogul purchased in 2007 for £10 million.
Obama was seen joking around, wrestling and even kite surfing with the billionaire founder of The Virgin Group... as you can see in this short video of the pair fooling around:
The Obamas will have also been working hard on their book. In a deal worth £48 million, it's is expected to reveal all about their 8 years in the White House. But we'll have to wait for all this insider gossip, as its publisher Penguin has not yet announced a date for the book's launch... and the Obamas seem to be having too much fun playing on the high seas!
Following Barack's departure from the Oval Office he tweeted: "Michelle and I are off on a quick vacation, then we'll get back to work."
Michelle tweeted: "After an extraordinary 8 years, I'll be taking a little break. Will be back before you know it to work with you on the issues we care about."
Barack's presidency began in 2009 after taking over from the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush. Obama spent his last day as president on January 20 2017 before handing over the position to President Donald Trump.
