Shakespeare's History Plays Review

A stellar cast appears in this cycle of the Bard's brilliant history plays, kicking off with Richard II, with Ben Whishaw in the title role. Jeremy Irons plays Henry IV and Tom Hiddleston dons the crown as Henry V. The supporting actor credits are no less impressive, with the likes of David Morrissey, Julie Walters and Clemence Poesy appearing as the Duke of Northumberland, Mistress Quickly and Queen Isabella respectively. Part of the cultural Olympiad, the four films promise something quite spectacular.

From 30 June on BBC Two
