Competition between the maid of honor and a bridesmaid, over who is the bride’s best friend, threatens to upend the life of an out-of-work pastry chef. The premise may sound ridiculous but it’s very, very funny.

The movie that spawned a series of sweet, feel-good romantic comedies and launched Meg Ryan to super stardom as Sally. Sally has known Harry (Billy Crystal) for years and they are very good friends, but they fear sex would ruin the friendship. No prizes for guessing what happens!
Another 80s classic, but it has to go in our top 10 favourite comedies as it’s one we can watch and watch again and still find funny. Dan Aykroyd plays a snobbish trader and Eddie Murphy a down-at-heel con artist, who find their lives reversed because of a bet by two callous millionaires.

In London, four very different people team up to commit armed robbery, then try to double-cross each other for the loot. John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline star in this 80s comedy classic. We reckon you can watch this one over and over and still find new things to laugh at.
What’s not to love with Julie Walters playing opposite Michael Caine – especially with them both in sparkling form? We just love this movie about a young wife who decides to complete her education and receives tuition from a whisky-soaked professor. It’s funny, thought-provoking and inspiring.

Male nurse Greg Focker meets his girlfriend’s parents before proposing, but her highly suspicious father is every date’s worst nightmare. Everything that could possibly go wrong does go wrong for the poor groom to be and, although, this is almost slapstick comedy, it’s a laugh-out-loud movie. Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro are both brilliant.

Just because it sounds like something your kids would love, don’t turn your nose up at it until you’ve seen it! We went to the cinema and spent 100 minutes belly laughing as Rowan Atkinson, playing Johnny English, plays a hapless secret agent who goes up against international assassins hunting the Chinese premier. We promise it’ll make you laugh – honestly!
It had to be in our top 10 comedies – it’s an all-time classic that delivers oodles of laughter as well as plenty of emotional moments too. The women cheer them on to go for “the full monty”, but will they have enough bottle?
